InMarch,theTreyburnProfessionalStaffofferedourfirsteverBeginnerLadiesOperation36Program. Twenty-twoladiesjoinedusfortheprograminordertolearnthebasics,haveafewbeverages&havefun whileplaying!Thisprogrambenefitsgolfersbyteachingthemthegamefromthegreenbacktothetee.All golferswillstartat25yardsfromthegreen,ratherthantheteebox,givingthebeginnersanearlierchance forsuccess.Weareallworkingtogethertobeatthecourseandimproveenoughtoshoot36orbetter. Insteadoftheoccasionalclinicorlesson,ourprogramwillbeofferedweeklytoincreasepracticeand

performance We will also participate in weekly games/activities to sharpen our skills with one another. Participants will be able to log when they practice and play to earn points for their profile and our community We will compete with other communities around the world playing Operation 36 in monthly challenges. The more we play and practice outside of class, the more points we earn and the higher we move up the leaderboard The Treyburn CC Operation 36 Academy ranked in the top 50 in the world for the month of March. The Treyburn Professional Staff has tremendous passion for growing the game of golf and would love to speak to you on how to take the first steps of your golf journey!

Our Junior Golf Camp welcomes juniors of all skill levels and experience! Once camp begins, we will break into two groups based on age and current skill level Both groups will cover all aspects of the game such as driving, irons, chipping, pitching, putting and rules & etiquette. We will encourage juniors to set goals at the beginning of camp in order to measure their success throughout the week Each junior will receive a junior golf package for the week! Afternoon activities include pool time, games on the event lawn, indoor activities and more

T³LAB FITNESS CAMP

FEE: $150 PER KID

This is one camp your child is not going to want to miss T³LAB is a great opportunity to maintain or start a healthy & active lifestyle For four days, your child will learn about the Fundamentals of Fitness and which will get them active while having so much fun! COOKIE OF THE MONTH: MAY 2023

Snickerdoodle Cookie Recipe

This cookie was one of our family’s favorites. Grandma would always serve them after dinner, crispy on the outside with cinnamon, sugar and a warm fluffy center

Ingredients:

1/4 Cup Shortening

1/4 Cup Salted Butter, softened

3/4 Cup Granulated Sugar

1 Egg

1/2 TSP Pure Vanilla Extract

1 1/3 Cups All-Purpose Flour, sifted

1/4 TSP Cinnamon

1 TSP Cream of Tartar

1/2 TSP Baking Soda

1/8 TSP Sea Salt

Directions:

Preheat oven to 375°F

Cinnamon Sugar Coating:

2 TBSP Granulated Sugar

1½ TSP Cinnamon

CHEF

AT CC OF ASHEVILLE

In a small bowl, mix together 2 tablespoons sugar and 1½ teaspoon cinnamon. Set aside. Sift flour into a medium bowl. Add cinnamon, cream of tartar, baking soda, salt and stir to combine. Set aside.

Cream together butter, shortening and sugar in the bowl of a standing mixer fitted with the paddle attachment (or with a hand mixer) Add egg and vanilla and beat again until smooth. Add dry ingredients and stir until combined. Use a 2 tablespoon cookie scoop to measure dough, then roll into balls

Roll each dough ball in the cinnamon sugar mixture until it’s evenly coated. Place cookies on a baking sheet, either ungreased or lined with parchment paper. Bake in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes until puffed and mostly set, but still soft

Remove from oven and transfer to a wire cooling rack to cool

Mama Dip’s Congo Squares

Throughout my culinary career, two chefs I’ve always admired and looked up to are Mildred “Mama Dip” Council, Founder of Mama Dip’s Kitchen in Chapel Hill and Walter Royal, Executive Chef at Angus Barn in Raleigh. I love sharing their recipes with members at Old North State Club. There is no coincidence that if you come to the lake for Steakhouse Night, you will notice Chef Royal’s chocolate chess pie is also on the menu. Mama Dip’s southern desserts have been featured on dessert menus and member events here at ONSC as well Chef Council’s Congo Square Recipe is the newest addition to the cookie and dessert bar menu I hope you enjoy!

Ingredients::

6 oz Butter, melted

2 1/4 Cups Brown Sugar

3 Eggs, beaten

2 3/4 Cups All Purpose Flour

2 1/2 TSP Baking Powder

1/2 TSP Salt

1 Cup Chocolate Chips

1 Cup Pecans, toasted

Directions:

Preheat oven to 325°F Butter and flour a half hotel pan.

Mix melted butter and brown sugar until smooth Add beaten eggs to butter and sugar mixture

In a separate bowl mix all-purpose flour, salt and baking powder together, and add into bowl of wet ingredients.

When the ingredients are blended together fold in chocolate and toasted pecans

Pour into prepared half hotel pan.

Place in preheated oven and bake for 30 minutes

Let cool and cut into 2 dozen bars.
