GENERAL MANAGER’S MESSAGE

The holiday season is upon us and with that note happy fall everyone!

Hurricane Update

What a September and October we had here, but also as a company As most of you know, a few of our clubs were hit hard by Hurricane Helene In fact, repairs are still taking place and we just reopened Asheville this week McConnell Golf, in support of Asheville who was hit the hardest, Raleigh CC, Wakefield Plantation, and us, with the help of US Foods, donated a truckload of product to help Asheville so they may open their doors behind the scenes to feed staff and workers who assisted in getting that Club up and running again They had a couple hundred trees down throughout the property and course so we wanted to at least make sure they can continue to feed staff as we sent over a lot of canned goods, but also propane so they were able to make hot meals before they regained power. Regardless, our thoughts and prayers will continue to be with them, as well as that entire part of the state that was affected by this disaster.

Events and Activities

Opening day of football is always a great time to get together with each other to show your support and this year was no different A wonderful turnout at the pool helped kick-start the football season and that rolled right into some golf events consisting of the TMGA Three Man Tourney, and CGA Ladies Play Second weekend of September, we had the lovely Durham Symphony play “Fall Pops,” which was led by Maestro William Henry Curry This is always a delightful event that really helps bring out the fall season We had the famed Gallagher Treyburn Memorial in remembrance of David Gallagher; to help raise money towards local charities and with the money raised this year, we were actually able to help grant a wish to a child from the Make-A-Wish Foundation. This is always such a special event and made even more special by the generosity of all our members so thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Congrats to all the Club Championship winners this year from the ladies’ division Susan Owens, men’s senior division John Michael, and junior division Nicholas Hagarman.

October brought out our 33rd Annual Men’s Member-Guest and wow did this event really come together Special thanks to all involved from our members, my team, and our vendors This event was a HUGE success and an overall win for the club as we love to plan and execute such a prestigious event like this Some more golf events to round out October, as well as our Spooky Brunch and another event from our Forum

Renovations and Projects

Our plans for 2025 are slowly but surely coming together with upkeeps and enhancements Our vision for Treyburn is always evolving and progressing but there’s still a bunch of major repairs that need to be addressed I won’t bore you with those behind-the-scenes details but as always, if anyone wishes to know more, I’d be happy to share. Just know that between golf, the pool, and the clubhouse, we are hopefully lined up to get some nice upgrades in certain areas that makes me even more excited for 2025

Holiday Season

We know November and December really start to cool off and with daylight savings time ending on the 3rd, it will start to get darker that much earlier. We will most likely be adjusting hours in various parts of the club so stay tuned for that November has just a couple of golf outings, as well as gearing up for our very popular Thanksgiving take-out later in the month Chef is finalizing that menu so we’ll be getting that out shortly to start taking preorders. We are also very excited to hopefully have our Sleigh Ride this year which was rained out last year. The company we use is all booked up come holiday time so its not something we can just shuffle around, so we’re hoping everything goes in our favor this year Chef is also in the process of putting together our menu for Santa Brunch so just a wonderful time to be here and be part of our holiday festivities

In Closing

These last couple months of 2024 do start to calm down at the club but also gives us time to reflect on the year we’ve had The club continues to outperform and it’s all thanks to our members continuing to support our vision of a prospering club. WE appreciate everyone’s support and WE always welcome anyone’s input on how we can improve WE as a leadership team are here to assist however we can

Again, I want to express our gratefulness to all, for continued support in the club. We all play a role in how this club performs and it has been breathtaking to see the positive changes. The leadership team’s commitment to seeing continued affluence, and progression, for the furtherance of Treyburn Country Club will always be what we have our sights on, as we know the potential Once more, my office is always open if anyone cares to chat!

With gratitude, Michael Powell

TREYBURN GOLF NEWS

Dear Treyburn Members,

The 2024 Member Golf Calendar is coming to an end for the season The past two months were filled with events that our members & guests enjoyed Some of these events included the Ladies, Juniors & Senior Club Championships, the 33rd Annual Men’s Member-Guest, the TLGA Cup & TMGA Treyburn Cup. We want to congratulate all of our winners on these events! These champions include Susan Owens (Ladies Club Champion), Nicholas Hagarman (Junior Club Champion), John Michael (Senior Club Champion) and Jack & Scott Brubaker (Men’s Member-Guest Champions)! These events are successful because of the support of our membership. Thank you all for your continued support of the Treyburn Golf Operation!

The course is finally firm and dry following what seemed like a record amount of rain this year The green speeds reached over 13 on the stimp meter multiple days in October The trees have provided some beautiful scenes on the golf course this fall As they begin to fall, Mark and his team will be hard at work clearing the leaves from the fairways and green complexes each day

As we get closer to our first frost of the year, be prepared for delays on the tee sheets. Walking on areas where there is frost can damage the grass. This is why it is important for us to delay the morning times until these areas have defrosted. The golf shop will notify the tee sheet via email of any delays. You also may look to the tee sheet notes at the top of the tee sheet each day for updates on delays, cart rules and range hours We will also be moving to a 10:00am Shotgun Start on Saturdays & Sundays during the winter Please be on the lookout for an email from the Treyburn Professional Staff for when this adjustment will begin as the temperatures change this off season

The Golf Shop is the perfect spot to find all of your holiday shopping needs this season! The golf shop is filled with apparel, accessories, clubs & more! We will be having some great sales in November & December to ensure you get the best deals out there! These sales include our Black Friday Sale on Friday, November 29th where you can receive up to 50% off on all apparel! We will be having our Christmas Balloon Sale on Friday, December 6th from 3:00pm-7:00pm where you can shop and then POP to see what saving you will receive! During the Christmas sale, we will have complementary beer, wine and cheese for all those joining us. We will also be providing complementary gift wrapping. If you are unable to join us for these two sales, do not worry! We will also be running our “12 Days of Christmas Sales” where we provide discounts on different items each day leading up to Christmas! Please see the schedule of sales below!

Please let a member of the golf staff know if we can make your time with us more enjoyable Thank you for your continued support of the Treyburn Golf Operation during the 2024 season
