MCCS
The MCCS Lodging Program In days past, TLFs, or Temporary Lodging Facilities, traditionally held the reputation for being austere, no-nonsense facilities for military personnel and their families who are without housing due to a recent Permanent Change of Station (PCS) or for temporarily assigned personnel. Times have definitely changed these facilities for the better. On Okinawa, MCCS provides lodging at three facilities on Camps Foster, Courtney and Hansen. These facilities are also available as staycation locales for service members and their families. Furthermore, service members and DoD civilians stationed on island can sponsor visiting friends and families to stay at the TLFs. Serving roughly 85,000 patrons annually, all facilities pride themselves in making each and every guest’s stay the best possible experience. In addition to the three TLFs, MCCS Lodging also has three TBFs, or Transient Billeting Facilities, which are traditionally reserved for those who are traveling on Temporary Assigned Duty (TAD) or Temporary Travel Duty (TDY). However, the TBFs are also open to leisure travelers on a space-available basis. The TBFs are located on Camp Foster and MCAS Futenma. 96 | OKINAWA GUIDE 2021–2022
