SACO Course: (0800-1600) Unit Substance Abuse Program Management (SACO) Training. This 40-hour course is provided to all newly appointed SACOs, Drug Demand Reduction Program offers this training once a quarter, or more often as needed to best accommodate Commanders' needs to have their unit substance abuse "duty experts" complete this required training within the specified 90-day period. Requirement: Attendees must be appointed in writing by their commanding officer.

Are You Addicted? (0830-1000 and 1300-1530) The addictive process is a recognizable psychological and behavioral syndrome that expresses itself in a particular individual in regard to specific substances or processes but which exhibits a striking similarity and commonality among addicted individuals regardless of their specific circumstances and particular addictions. This interactive training will take you to a journey from casual use/drinking to addiction. OPEN TO ALL

17 Everything You Need to Know About Substance Abuse In 22 Minutes: (0830-0930 and 1300-1400)

This production totally saturates attendees with one unrelenting message: If you use dangerous drugs like alcohol, marijuana and Ecstasy, you are risking your future and your life. It presents the plain facts that are indisputable: alcohol damages the growing brain, marijuana can cause head and neck cancers as well as lung cancer, methamphetamine is one of the most addictive substances on earth, one huff from an inhalant can result in sudden death and much more. Drug Recognition for Leaders by YPD

(0830-1000 and 1300-1530)

WOULD YOU KNOW IF YOUR MARINE/SAILOR IS USING ILLEGAL DRUGS? Drug Demand Reduction Program have invited the Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) from Yuma Police Department (YPD) to provide the leaders a 3-hour basic drug recognition tools to Identify what type of drug was used, administration of drugs and time frame. OPEN TO ALL SGTs and ABOVE and DoD CIVILIAN EMPLOYEES

17 Drugged Driving (0830-0930 and 1300-1400) In 2015, an estimated 9.9 million people aged 12 and older reported driving under the influence of illicit drugs. It is hard to measure how many accidents drugged driving causes. After alcohol, marijuana is the drug most often linked to drugged driving. This training will provide the participants information on drugged driving and State Laws regarding drugged driving. OPEN TO ALL
