Jo Neville is a paper artist. Her work has graced the covers of international magazines and fashion runways. Living in the digital age is only providing her with further inspiration to create objects of tactile beauty. Formally trained as a graphic designer, Jo Neville became frustrated with tight briefs and even tighter budgets. Her creativity was compromised and in 2000 Jo left the corporate sector to set up Paper Couture.

Paper Couture specialises in bespoke stationery and paper installations for corporate and private clients. Everything is made out of paper. “I love paper because it is sensual and tactile and the internet isn’t! Paper has texture and sometimes makes a noise, it can rustle or tear and it usually smells good. It has soul and captures our most treasured memories, thoughts or ideas, it is nostalgic.” With paper sourced from Australia and abroad, Jo’s favourites include ‘upcycled’ old paper especially sheet music, old books, atlases and wallpaper. Jo also travels to overseas paper shows such as the National Stationery Show in New York and Paperworld in Frankfurt. Having met Rowena Judd of Murobond Paints in 2011, Jo now works out of the studio space at the back of her Artarmon showroom.
