Victoria Kokinos, MMC 2013 Dear Contestants, Winning Miss Mill Creek this past year has been such an honor and a privilege. However, with winning the title came great responsibility. Being crowned Miss Mill Creek meant I would be representing my school. I tried to be a role model and an example of what amazing students there are at Mill Creek High School. It was my privilege to represent my school and community. With this title came more volunteering opportunities and even more ways to become active in school events. I have been involved in pageantry for many years and have held many state and national titles but being crowned Miss Mill Creek my senior year, in front of my peers, and representing my school has been one of my most memorable pageant experiences I have ever had. Mill Creek High School is very special to me and I am very proud to be a Mill Creek Hawk! I would also like to give a big THANK YOU to Katherine Alexander, “Ms. A, and the Mill Creek Encore Alliance for the $1500 Scholarship. This will help me pursue my career goal of becoming a meteorologist as I attend Mississippi State University. To the new title holders representing Mill Creek, remember to not only wear the crown, but use it to benefit the others, in need, around you. Represent our school and community with pride and get ready to have an exciting year!!! God Bless,

Victoria Ann Kokinos Miss Mill Creek 2013

Pageant Director, Sharon Kokinos I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for coming and supporting the Miss Mill Creek Pageants. My hope for the Miss Mill Creek program is not only to be a fund raiser for the MCEA, but to be a pageant that celebrates young women who are well-rounded, poised, intelligent, and leaders in our schools and community. The Miss Mill Creek program will facilitate volunteer opportunities for the contestants and representatives. This program is set in place to mentor and reach young ladies to inspire them to not only serve their schools, but also their community. The contestants and representatives will have great opportunities as we link arms with other Gwinnett County High Schools in serving the Gwinnett community. I am honored to have the position of director and mentor to such an amazing group of girls and young ladies. As parents, you should be very proud! To the young ladies competing today, always remember the words of Harriett Tubman, “Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world.” So, let your dreams begin! To the girls and young ladies who will be crowned today, get ready to have a fun and exciting year!

“We plot. We plan. We assume things are going to go a certain way. And when they don’t, we find ourselves in a new place---a place we haven’t been before, a place we never would have imagined on our own. It is the difficult and the unexpected, and maybe even the tragic, that opens us up and frees us to see things in new ways. Many of the most significant moments in our lives come not because it all went right but because it all fell apart. Suffering does that. It hurts, but it also creates.” - Rob Bell
