The Crew *Katherine Alexander - Director
Katherine Alexander earned her teaching certificate attending classes at Gainesville Junior College (where she attended on a full theater scholarship), UGA and Northwestern University. Certified to teach Theater, as well as, Mathematics she taught at Hilsman MS, Athens Tech and George Walton Academy. Prior to her arrival at Mill Creek in 2008 she taught theater full time at Berkmar HS for nine years, directing 41 main stage plays and musicals. Annie will mark her 19th play/musical here at Mill Creek. She developed a love for theatre in early childhood and has been involved in theatre for over 26 years. Some of her favorite roles as an actress over the years include Dorothy in The Wiz, Annie Sullivan in The Miracle Worker, Guinevere in Camelot, Dr. Einstein in Arsenic & Old Lace, Dolly in Hello, Dolly!, Mrs. Pearce in My Fair Lady, Maria in The Sound of Music, Dolly in The Matchmaker and The Clown in Reese & Babe. Some of her favorite things about directing are the collaborative process and the unique and interesting challenges that each show present. To date, the favorite show that she has directed here at Mill Creek is Seussical the Musical. She says, “There was just something magical about that show and all those involved with it know exactly what I’m talking about.”

Becca DelPlato is a Mill Creek Graduate and is happy to make her choreographic debut after serving as Assistant Choreographer for last year’s The Wiz. She now studies Theatre Performance with the Gainesville Theatre Alliance. Performance credits include: MC Theatre: Alice in Wonderland (White Rabbit), Hairspray (Penny Pingleton), FPA: Fosse! (Dancer), GTA: The Grapes of Wrath (Ensemble), Brave New World (Lenina Crowne), Twelfth Night (Maria). “Thanks to Katherine Alexander for the opportunity and to Dance Captain Birdie Jackson for her input and help! The Crew Stephanie Archer - Musical Director
Mrs. Archer began her teaching career in 1989 at Eastbrook Middle School in the Whitfield County School system. In 1992, she became the choral director at Southeast Whitfield High School, where she was named the Teacher of the Year in 1996. She was also the first runner-up for the Whitfield County Teacher of the Year. She moved to Gwinnett County in 1997, and began teaching at Sweetwater Middle School. After taking four years to be a stay-at-home Mom, Mrs. Archer returned to teaching at Lanier Middle School in 2008. This is her 2nd year as a Hawk, and the director of choral activities at Mill Creek High School. Mrs. Archer has had performance experience in community theatre and has been in such shows as: The Gondoliers, The Boyfriend, Quilters, Gypsy and Cinderella. As a teacher in middle and high schools, she has been the musical director of shows such as: The Sound of Music, L’il Abner, Annie Get Your Gun, The Wizard of Oz, Godspell, Bye, Bye Birdie, and Guys and Dolls. She also was a performing participant in the Brightleaf Music Workshop (a show choir summer camp) from 1999-2002. THEATRE ETTIQUETTE Flash photography is not permitted during the performances. Cast members will be happy to pose for pictures after the show. Silence all cell phones or beepers before the performance begins. Leave the theatre during performance ONLY OUT OF NECESSITY. Don’t talk or make unnecessary noises during the show. No food or drink permitted in the theatre. Presentations of flowers, gifts, or similar recognitions are usually made offstage; exceptions should have prior approval of the director. Never be openly critical of a performer or performance. Arrive early enough to be seated before the lights dim. When the curtain goes up, if the set pleases you, compliment the designer and crew by applauding. Parents of cast and crew are kindly asked to stay after the last performance of the show to help strike the set.
