Producer *Katherine Alexander Katherine Alexander earned her teaching certificate attending classes at Gainesville Junior College (where she attended on a full theater scholarship), UGA and Northwestern University. Certified to teach Theater, as well as, Mathematics she taught at Hilsman MS, Athens Tech and George Walton Academy. Prior to her arrival at Mill Creek in 2008 she taught theatre full time at Berkmar HS for nine years, directing 43 main stage plays and musicals. “Rapunzel: Untangled” marks her 25th play/musical here at Mill Creek. She developed a love for theatre in early childhood and has been involved in theatre for over 26 years. Some of her favorite roles as an actress over the years include Dorothy in “The Wiz”, Annie Sullivan in “The Miracle Worker”, Guinevere in “Camelot”, Dr. Einstein in “Arsenic & Old Lace”, Dolly in “Hello, Dolly!”, Mrs. Pearce in “My Fair Lady”, Maria in “The Sound of Music”, Dolly in “The Matchmaker” and The Clown in “Reese & Babe”. Some of her favorite things about directing are the collaborative process and the unique and interesting challenges that each show presents.

Writer and Director *Alyssa Burton

Alyssa Burton graduated from Mill Creek in 2012 and is currently studying theatre at the University of North Georgia in Gainesville. Her passion for theatre has grown to encompass not only performing, which she has always loved, but writing plays (the first being The Curious Case of Dr.Jekyll & Mr.Hyde which she wrote directed her senior year here at Mill Creek High School), and directing (including Mill Creek’s recent production of Pride & Prejudice). Alyssa says, “ I have always had a special love for children’s theatre and am ecstatic and enormously thankful to Katherine Alexander for the opportunity to work with such a wonderful group of students in order to create, inspire, and entertain the audience who has inspired me!

Stage Combat Instructor *Asa B. Stephens Asa Stephens is a BFA Tech student with The Gainesville Theatre Alliance with a specialty in movement theatre. He has been a student of stage combat for a little over five years and has thoroughly enjoyed working with these students and he looks forward to having the opportunity to do so again in the future. Makeup Designer *Chelsea Braden Chelsea Braden is excited to be back working makeup at Mill Creek! She is a returning alumni who is now studying Theatre Performance, Makeup Artistry, and Management at The Gainesville Theatre Alliance, a collaboration between The University of North Georgia and Brenau University. Some of her previous makeup credits include “Annie the Musical”, “The Wiz”, and “Sleeping Beauty”. You might have seen her in the Mill Creek Players’ productions of “Hairspray”, “Seussical”, or “John Lennon and Me”. She is thankful to Alyssa Burton for the opportunity to be working here again and wishes many broken legs to this wonderful cast! Enjoy!
