BIRDS, BIRDS, BIRDS
If you have a few ornamental birds sitting in the back of the shed, it’s time to break them out. If you need a space fi ller look no further, birds rarely go out of style and you can go as classic or out there as you like. Providing the perfect pop of colour by brightening up a dark corner or breaking up some greenery, the right ornamental bird can traverse time. MAKE A STATEMENT
Bigger is better this spring, with the monstera trending hard and ousting yesterday’s everpopular palm. These monochrome green plants mean the statement making is left to the planters. The ideal combination of sophistication and warmth, standing planters are the perfect statement piece. Stylish and functional, a standing planter provides the perfect focal piece for any outdoor area.
style THE EDIT
As we emerge from winter hibernation and take a proper look out at our outdoor areas for the fi rst time in months, fi rst impressions might leave a lot to be desired. Whether it’s overgrown or outdated, Our Home has the fi x after sitting down with Tracy Heyward from Sabac to talk trends for those rain, hail or shine occasions.
WANNA HANG?
Take the old and make it new again by giving any outdoor space a warm, homey vibe with a few hanging plants and candles. Perfect for big or small areas, this refreshing trend plays with space on a vertical level, letting you maximise every inch of your outdoor area. With a splash of green and a bit of mood lighting, your outdoor area will feel effortlessly balanced in any situation. TALK ABOUT TEXTURE
Resurfacing after a 12-month hiatus, the ever-trusty cane is as popular as ever, and its versatility has left us starry eyed and sighing. Whether it’s indoors, outdoors, undercover or in the sun, cane transfers effortlessly across every season in any weather. It’s not the only texture trending though, for those of you who prefer a smooth, sleek surface for your outdoor designs you’ll go mad for metal. If you’re hunting for a nice in between, however, rust is your friend. With a statement piece or a humble planter, rust is a down-to-earth addition to any outdoor area. Simple but stylish, these textures look good in any setting.
