ARE YOU LOOKING TO SPRUCE UP A ROOM IN YOUR HOUSE, BUT CAN’T AFFORD A WHOLE MAKEOVER? AN ECHUCA BUSINESS HAS THE SOLUTIONS TO YOUR PROBLEMS.

STORY: MONIQUE PRESTON

Statement pieces, such as a new piece of furniture or a print for the room, combined with some new well-placed small décor pieces such as new cushions or vases, may be all you need to freshen up your home this spring. I Want I Need owner Lisa Cox said the Echuca business had a large selection of artists’ prints, with something to suit all tastes. Among them is the new modern floral collection by artist Adele Naidoo, which is a new addition to the store. With different sizes, ranging from 30 cm x 30 cm right up to 120 cm x 180 cm, there is a size for all walls. These prints also have different tones, to suit different home décors. Lisa said many of her clients were followers of Adele’s and it was nice to be able to offer her work in-store. She said having the prints in-store meant people could see the exact colours available and work out what size would best suit their home. “It’s good to see sizes and work out if you need bigger or darker prints.” Urban Road and Warranbrooke prints are also in-store and are popular. Lisa said I Want I Need carried a lot of art of natural bush settings, contemporary designs and Indigenous prints. Most prints can be custom framed in black, white and timber colours. I Want I Need also has a wide range of what Lisa refers to as “statement piece furniture”. Among those in stock are Globe West Furniture pieces that have just arrived. They include beautiful sideboards, stools, hall tables and coffee tables. “They are pieces where you can just replace one piece of furniture and it makes all the difference to a room,” Lisa said. “You could put new cushions, art on the wall and one piece (of furniture) and you can re-decorate the whole room.” Terrazzo stools and coffee tables are available in lots of different shapes and sizes, and have the added benefit of being able to be used inside or outside. “It is putting something organic and light into the home,” Lisa said. “It’s another piece you can jazz things up with.” Small pieces of home décor such as glassware and vases are also available in lots of different colours and can tie in with the look of the room. Lots of different cushions in natural fibres, as well as pots and other artificial plants are available to dot throughout your home to brighten things up, as well as a large collection of cookbooks to style tables. “I try to cater for every taste,” Lisa said. “We have such a diverse range we are bound to find something you can change.”

The kitchen can also be styled with just a few small items from I Want I Need. Lisa said there was a gorgeous range of bench sprays and washes from al.ive that were perfect for the kitchen. The beautiful bottles of Tasteology gourmet salts, peppers and olive oils can also be styled on a wooden chopping board in your kitchen to make a décor statement, as well as to be functional.

I Want I Need can be found at 572 High St, Echuca, and is open seven days a week.
