If you are submitting a Photoshop PSD file, leave the layers unflattened. If you built the job in Indesign, export the art as a PDF and send both files. • Include all supporting graphics and photos. Because the resolution of an embedded or linked image is critical to a high quality final product it needs to be at least 300 dpi, in CMYK, saved as a TIFF or EPS AND included in the same folder with the artwork. If you are unsure whether sending art is necessary, go ahead and send it. • Create your artwork according to our dieline templates. Please call us for any of our dieline templates. • If your design doesn’t bleed, keep it within 1/16” from the edge of the label. • Extend any bleed 1/16” outside the edges of the label. • Specify all PMS colors used in label design, we can print any color from the PMS book, except for any # in the 800’s. • All black elements should be 100% K rather than a combination of CMYK • Maximum # of colors: 6 (including 4-color process), except in Scratch Off Printing. • Send all fonts, unless converted to outlines/paths prior to saving the file. Our preference is to have all text outlined. • Minimum font size is 4 points for positive and reverse copy. • If your design requires a graduated screen (gradient), 4% is the minimum dot percentage rather than graduating from 0%. Please be aware that this affects drop shadows as well. BACKSIDE PRINTING* • All backside printing can only be in black • Because backside printing is on the adhesive, avoid using gradients or designs that cover a large portion of the label. • Backside printing is not available on special shapes.
VARIABLE DATA/SCRATCH OFF* • The variable data box should be a minimum of 1” tall and 1.5” wide. • When designing the label, leave the variable data box white in the artwork. • Variable data should be created in any Database program (preferably Excel), saved as a .csv file, and emailed to us. • Variable data will be printed in Arial regular font in 10 point type.
SPECIAL SHAPES* • Keep the artwork 1/8” in from the dieline, unless your design bleeds. • Call or email us if you need a PDF of the special shapes we offer.
*Additional charges may apply. FRONT PAGE NOTE SIZE: Bleed area for front page note: 3” x 3” Die cut for front page note: 2.875” x 2.875” Live Image Area for front page note: 2.75” x 2.75”
FRONT PAGE NOTE DEADLINES: Deadline for front page notes is one week (MINIMUM ALLOWED) from the time the art is submitted to time of insertion. This does not allow for optimal or extended proofing conditions.
