The Exorcist – 50th Anniversary Screening

@ Braid Film Theatre

Friday 22 September

8.00pm

Join us for another Fright Club screening as we celebrate the 50th Anniversary of “the scariest movie of all time” William Friedkin’s The Exorcist.

Based on the terrifying novel of the same name by William Peter Blatty, The Exorcist instantly became infamous back in 1973 when audiences fainted and vomited in the aisles of the theatres. The film gained notoriety because of its extreme subject matter and distressing imagery. The Catholic Church was NOT a fan, claiming its blatant blasphemy was an evil on anyone who watched it. The film was banned for

many years in different countries yet despite this it garnered mostly positive reviews across the board from film critics, cinephiles and people within the industry. Even after 50 years it is STILL a shocking experience and regarded as one of the greatest films ever made. Join us if you dare...
