AIR TRANSPORTATION Newark Liberty International Airport Newark Liberty International Airport is one of the world’s busiest airports, handling more than 30 million passengers per year. Operated by The Port Authority of New York & New Jersey since 1948, the airport serves international and domestic travelers and is one of the bestequipped air cargo facilities in the world. The airport is accessible by NJ Turnpike Interchange 13A, Routes 1 & 9, and Interstate 78. Direct rail connections to the NJ Transit and Amtrak Northeast Corridor train lines are available via AirTrain Newark.
