Account Executive Suburban General Insurance Agency Judith Singer-Barber is an Account Executive with Suburban General Insurance Agency and is licensed in all lines of insurance. Suburban is a brokerage firm that writes Property and Casualty, Personal and Commercial lines. Over a year ago, a division called “Private Client Group” was added, which manages 401k’s, life, health, and individual group options. Judith has a degree in Fine Arts from the School of Visual Arts; and she graduated from The Fashion Institute of Technology earning a degree in Fashion Design. The education she acquired led her to a career in clothing design, where she became Design Director for a private label manufacturer. She has designed for major department stores throughout the US, Canada, and Mexico incorporating extensive worldwide travel. This experience became the foundation to her success as she fostered communication skills and gained professional knowledge while dealing with different cultures and customs. When Judith changed careers to become an insurance broker, she transferred the skills she had fostered while working within the garment industry; good organization, managing deadlines, and networking with people were among them. Six years ago, Judith joined the Meadowlands Chamber. She had just begun her new career selling insurance and was anxious to meet people and find clients. From inception, she found the members were engaging and she began to receive many requests for quotes and guidance. This also led her to cultivate some significant friendships. The most vital skill she was able to apply from her days as a designer was the ability to refer and reciprocate, it’s a ‘give and take’ model. Being an active member in many chambers over the years, Judith believes that “none compare to the Meadowlands Chamber”. There is a connection among the members which offers a helping hand in our community that cannot be found elsewhere. She is a proud Ambassador and hopes to continue to be a member for many years to come. Above all, she is a proud single mother of two adult children and is passionate about art, music, theatre, dance, and fashion.
