Femicide: An Analysis of Prevalence, Impact, and P o t e n t S o l u t i oi na sl
Femicide Femicide: An Analysis of Prevalence, Impact, and Potential Solutions Femicide, the intentional killing of women because of their gender, is a grave global issue that violates fundamental human rights and perpetuates gender inequality. This analysis delves into the prevalence and impact of femicide on a global scale, exploring underlying factors contributing to this problem. By incorporating the latest research findings, studies, and reports, this analysis aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of femicide, backed by real-life examples and case studies from different regions of the world. Finally, this analysis proposes potential solutions and actions to address this pressing issue and promote gender equality and safety for women worldwide. Prevalence of Femicide: Femicide is a widespread issue impacting women across the globe. While statistics on femicide are challenging to obtain due to underreporting and inconsistent definitions across countries, various studies provide valuable insights into its prevalence. According to a report by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), of the 87,000 recorded female homicide victims globally in 2017, almost 58% were killed by their partners or family members. Such intimate partner violence often escalates to femicide. The World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that around 30% of women worldwide who have been in a relationship report encountering physical or sexual violence by their partner. Case Studies on Femicide: Examining case studies from different regions of the world highlights the severity and consequences of femicide. For instance, in Latin America, femicide rates are alarmingly high. In El Salvador, one of the most dangerous countries for women, the United Nations reported a femicide rate of 10.2 per 100,000 women in 2016. Similarly, Brazil has
witnessed a significant increase in femicide cases, with approximately one woman killed every two hours. In countries like India, dowry-related violence and honor killings contribute to femicide. The National Crime Records Bureau reported 7,024 dowry deaths in India in 2019. These statistics underscore the brutality and deeply ingrained societal norms that perpetuate femicide. Factors Contributing to Femicide: Femicide is rooted in complex societal norms, cultural influences, and systemic inequality. Patriarchal systems that devalue women’s lives and deny their rights further exacerbate the problem. Key contributing factors include: 1. Gender-based discrimination: Discriminatory societal norms and practices limit women’s autonomy, hinder their economic opportunities, and perpetuate power imbalances. 2. Intimate partner violence: Evidence suggests that prior domestic violence or abusive relationships significantly increase the risk of femicide. 3. Intersectionality: Women belonging to marginalized groups, such as ethnic minorities, indigenous communities, or immigrant populations, face heightened risks due to compounding inequalities. 4. Impunity: Weak legal frameworks and ineffective implementation of laws perpetuate a culture of impunity, making it harder to hold perpetrators accountable. Potential Solutions and Actions: Addressing femicide requires a comprehensive, multi-faceted approach involving governments, civil society, and international organizations. Here are potential solutions and actions that can be taken: 1. Legal reforms and accountability:
Governments must enact and enforce legislation criminalizing femicide and domestic violence. Robust legal frameworks should guarantee the protection of victims and appropriate punishment for perpetrators. 2. Awareness and prevention programs: Education campaigns and community outreach initiatives are essential to challenge gender norms, promote gender equality, and raise awareness about the consequences of femicide. 3. Women’s empowerment: Promoting economic empowerment, providing access to quality education, and ensuring equal job opportunities can reduce women’s vulnerability and reshape power dynamics. 4. Support mechanisms for victims: Establishing helplines, counseling services, and shelters for survivors of violence is crucial in providing immediate support and protection. 5. Data collection and research: Investing in accurate and standardized data collection on femicide will help identify trends, develop evidence-based interventions, monitor progress, and hold governments accountable. Femicide stands as a significant global challenge that requires urgent attention. By analyzing its prevalence, impact, and underlying factors across regions, we can better comprehend the severity of the issue. Through a multifaceted approach that involves legal reforms, awareness campaigns, women’s empowerment, victim support, and improved data collection, societies can work towards eradicating femicide and promoting gender equality and safety for women worldwide. Ultimately, only concerted efforts by individuals, communities, and governments can bring about lasting change.

The homicide of Alice Neri
he case of Alice Neri, a 32-year-old from Modena, is closed, or quite, no, it will likely be reopened. Maybe. The primary suspects of getting killed Alice Neri had been her husband, Nicholas Negrini, and a piece colleague, Marco Cuccui. On the night of November 17, 2022, Alice informed Nicholas that she was going out to dinner with some colleagues. Evidently, she didn’t wish to have arguments along with her partner. The husband didn’t think about that his spouse would as an alternative be entertained till 2 within the morning along with her colleague Marco Cuccui on the Good Caffè bar in Concordia, additionally within the decrease Modena space. Negrini and Cuccui had been investigated in two totally different investigative hypotheses. One of many two may have killed this younger lady, later having her physique discovered contained in the burnt automotive in Concordia Secchia. In actuality, a yr after this homicide, the Neri case has had infinite twists and turns and even in the present day there is no such thing as a full certainty in regards to the id of the assassin. It’s maybe the primary femicide that goes to trial with a number of doubts as as to whether the accused is really the wrongdoer. In fact, her husband Nicholas had nothing to do with it. And never even my colleague Cuccui, who ended up, past their ache as a relative the primary and a pal the second, within the media and gossip meat grinder for months. Not less than till June twenty ninth, when the Modena prosecutor’s workplace determined to dismiss the proceedings towards them. «I didn’t count on – mentioned Cuccui as soon as exonerated – that an aperitif would finish in such a tragic means, in a homicide; it’s the very last thing you’ll be able to count on.” And, in reality, what occurred that night continues to be unclear. In jail for voluntary murder and concealment of a corpse is the Tunisian Mohamed Gaaloul, arrested on 8 December in France on expenses of killing

Alice after a rejected sexual strategy. In line with the prosecutor’s workplace, Gaaloul stabbed Neri to loss of life, then put the weapon within the trunk of the girl’s automotive and set it on fireplace to destroy it. To know Gaaloul’s profile, it must be added that different protests have additionally developed towards the Tunisian. Specifically, parts emerged to help a speculation of tried extortion towards one other lady: Gaaloul allegedly threatened to unfold movies wherein she herself was filmed
her to loss of life after her advances had been rejected. The lady’s physique was burned when Alice was already lifeless, because the post-mortem confirmed, given the absence of inhalation of sooty materials into the airways. Physician Vittorio Gatto, guide to the prosecutor’s workplace, reconstructed the final moments: the girl, after ingesting and consuming cocaine, had tried to defend herself from the blows along with her fingers, struggling deadly wounds. However then got here the
whereas having sexual activity with him and consuming medicine so as to not return her a debt of just about two thousand euros that the sufferer had beforehand lent him. The person can also be accused of drug dealing. That night the Tunisian was enjoying within the betting room subsequent to the bar the place Alice and Marco had been chatting and having an aperitif. In line with the investigators, as soon as Marco had pushed away in her automotive, the Tunisian approached the girl after which hung out along with her within the automotive, walked away and stabbed
twist. Just a few days in the past the defender, the lawyer Roberto Ghini, offered a request for quick trial, that’s, he requested to evaluate the person by skipping the filter of the preliminary listening to, satisfied as he’s that the innocence of his shopper. To guage the consistency of the weather towards Gaaloul it’s fascinating to contain the previous public prosecutor Antonino Ingroia who’s now a civil social gathering within the trial, being the defender of Nicholas, Alice’s husband. And the latter is the primary to have doubts in regards to the guilt of the accused.
Lawyer Ingroia, what are the strongest parts towards Gaaloul? «There are a number of parts of some relevance towards him. It’s documented, for instance, that he’s the final man to have boarded Alice’s automotive. Then there are his fingerprints on the oil tank discovered close to the burned automotive the place the poor lady’s charred physique was discovered. Furthermore, the crime was dedicated close to the place the place the oil tank was situated. Nor ought to we overlook the angle after the crime…”. In actual fact, Gaaloul leaves Italy, makes unusual cellphone calls to his spouse who turns into scared and compares his attitudes to these of a fugitive like Escobar…. “It’s actually anomalous conduct, transferring away from Italy and likewise some doubtful phone tapping together with his spouse.”
as killing the girl on this means. From the kind of execution, we’re confronted with against the law by somebody who knew Alice, she hated her and needed revenge. And Alice didn’t know Tunisian.” Are there different parts in favor of man? «The automotive was not burned with the oil which was used to take care of the hearth, the automotive was burned with petrol however there is no such thing as a hint of the way it bought there. Investigators ought to establish who introduced the petrol to the crime scene. Then there are unexplored different paths.” The path of the notorious third man? However the prosecutor doesn’t consider it…
«The doubts come up from the truth that the homicide weapon is the standard one used for premeditated homicide: it isn’t a standard pocket knife however a big knife that the accused couldn’t have had with him. After which the Tunisian and Alice didn’t know one another and due to this fact it can’t be dominated out that he had a motive.”
«The well-known third man is necessary as a result of it reveals that now we have another lead the place there actually aren’t these clues towards Gaaloul however there’s a motive, attainable premeditation and traces of blood that he himself admits to having from her however which then they disappear. Nevertheless, there aren’t any tangible traces of the presence of the third man on the crime scene or footprints. In follow, on the one hand now we have motive and unusual conduct, on the opposite there are tangible indicators of Gaaloul, with out motive.”
The prosecutor’s workplace signifies a rejected sexual strategy….
What motive would the third man have needed to kill Alice?
«There are numerous genetic parts relating to sexual violence, for instance traces of blended DNA of each on the cigarette that Alice smoked within the automotive. Due to this fact they actually had a sexual relationship or an change of effusions however to hypothesize that this then slipped into rejected sexual violence is just not tenable.”
«The person had had a relationship with Alice, then she broke off the connection. She didn’t wish to hear about it anymore and he or she had confided in some mates revealing that the person was oppressive and managed her as he himself partially admitted within the minutes, heard as a witness. He admitted that he went to see who she was texting and assembly on the bar. Briefly, the motive is typical of the rejected lover who refuses to resign himself. Then now we have the testimony of a lady in a bar the place the 2 secluded themselves when their relationship was over. Effectively, your witness remembers that on two events you noticed them arguing, pushing one another.”
What are the weather that go away you perplexed?
Why? «In my profession I’ve by no means seen circumstances like this until they’re rejected lovers. In occasional rape the perpetrator both will get the higher hand or runs away however there is no such thing as a such factor
Was Alice pregnant? «This was by no means confirmed however he had signs of nausea, a lot in order that he took medicines towards such a discomfort. It additionally seems that not too long ago he usually consulted the web to see relationships between nausea and being pregnant. Briefly, additionally having a late interval, he suspected she was pregnant. Amongst different issues, relations between husband and spouse had been not sensible, the 2 had not had sexual relations for a while; due to this fact Nicholas couldn’t be.” By the best way, why does Nicholas have totally different positions from these of his household? «The mom and brother have above all an curiosity in defending Alice’s picture. As an alternative, for the husband crucial factor stays to establish the reality in any respect prices, even when issues emerge that aren’t good for her or him, such because the presence of a lover. Nicholas is just not fully satisfied by the proof towards the Tunisian. With out forgetting that the person, though by no means questioned but, defined that he bought out of Alice’s automotive as a result of he bought scared after noticing that somebody was following them.” How will it finish? «We’re in a extra secluded place as a result of the husband doesn’t wish to be the assistant defender of the one that may actually be the assassin. So we’re going again to the Assize Court docket.” In line with the Prosecutor’s Workplace, nonetheless, that night time the third man (who spontaneously gave his DNA), after turning off his cellphone at 9pm and turning it again on at 5am, was at dwelling. That very same night time his spouse had gone to sleep earlier than her as a result of she had labored the night time shift at work. IM Italian Team

is extremely disrespectful. In any case, folks flirt to sign sexual curiosity, so on the very least, it’s a warning signal. On whether or not or not flirting constitutes dishonest, one Reddit person says, “I believe it falls beneath emotional dishonest. Even when it’s a “joke”… it alerts a deeper situation. Why would your accomplice need to give that type of consideration to somebody aside from you? I’d be furious and instantly lose quite a lot of belief. The severity of the offense clearly is determined by the context, content material, and intent. It’s most likely not robotically relationship-ending, nevertheless it’s completely indicative of the necessity for loooonnngggg conversations (probably mediated by a therapist) concerning the relationship, belief, and bounds.” Associated Studying: 10 Telltale Indicators You Are Not Prepared For A Critical, Dedicated Relationship What about this: Is flirting thought of dishonest within the digital world? Apparently, research have discovered that flirting in a digital actuality setting – with a digital accomplice, not an actual individual – is efficient in “inoculating” folks from the need to hunt out real-life alternate options. A promising improvement for individuals who wrestle to stay devoted. So, when does flirting cross the road into the certain label of dishonest? Let’s discover 9 causes to help this place. I hope it helps you look at the motivations and penalties of your actions.
Psychology 1. Flirting is a type of emotional infidelity Is flirting dishonest if there isn’t a bodily contact? It could possibly be. Emotional infidelity is a breach of belief inside a romantic relationship that doesn’t contain bodily dishonest. It happens when one accomplice develops a deep emotional reference to somebody outdoors the connection, usually in a manner that’s reserved for his or her major accomplice. That is one purpose that flirting whereas in a relationship is extremely disrespectful. Whereas emotional infidelity is extra severe, flirting could also be a lighter or extra informal type of emotional dishonest. You will not be sharing intimate particulars about your self with this new individual however your harmless flirtation does have sexual overtones. If having intercourse with another person is dishonest, then flirting will be thought of micro-cheating. In reality, one research defines infidelity as “habits that’s not condoned by one’s romantic accomplice, happens outdoors of the first relationship, and will be described, akin to intercourse, flirting, and so forth.” That is why flirting counts as emotional dishonest. 2. It entails deception and secrecy When is flirting thought of dishonest? Flirting most frequently occurs in secrecy. Even when different persons are round, one of many thrills of flirting lies in the truth that nobody else is aware of what’s taking place proper in entrance of them. After which there’s flirting at work whereas in a relationship, which is much more secretive. However this secrecy is a violation of your accomplice’s belief and messes with their head even whether it is tremendous informal and there’s really no infidelity, emotional or bodily. One more reason that flirting whereas in a relationship is extremely disrespectful. And the way does innocent flirting represent emotional dishonest? Deception and secrecy chip away on the basis of a wholesome relationship inflicting it to erode over time. In reality, a research has discovered that deception can go into different areas of the connection, akin to funds. A constant sample of deception and secrecy can create pressure and discord inside the relationship. When your accomplice realizes you’ve
been protecting issues from them, this betrayal will be emotionally devastating. 3. Flirting signifies attraction Is flirting thought of dishonest even when there isn’t a bodily contact? Whether or not or not you might be in a dedicated relationship, the intention behind flirting is to get somebody to really feel attracted towards you. So, seen via this lens, an intent to draw others whereas in a dedicated relationship and even simply entertaining others whereas in a relationship are acts of infidelity. To behave amorously with somebody apart from your major accomplice quantities to dishonest. An individual flirting with somebody may accomplish that with any of those intentions: Exterior validation: Flirting with severe intent to draw others usually stems from a want for validation, past what one receives inside the major partnership. Searching for consideration from others can present a way of desirability and self-worth. Escapism: For some, flirting gives an escape from the routine or challenges of their dedicated relationship. It may be a solution to expertise the fun of one thing new and totally different, creating a way of pleasure or novelty that may be lacking of their on a regular basis life. Ego increase: Flirting can function an ego increase. Compliments and expressions of curiosity from others can briefly elevate shallowness. The individual could not in any other case obtain this confidence increase from their accomplice or from themselves. 4. It could escalate to full-blown dishonest Even innocent flirting has sexual overtones quite a lot of occasions. So, is flirting dishonest in a relationship? Sure, as a result of if left unchecked, it might progress into the next eventualities: Regardless that it begins with mild, playful banter or innocent compliments, over time, these interactions can intensify emotions of attraction and need for the opposite individual. This makes it more difficult to keep up
clear boundaries with them As flirtation deepens, it could possibly foster an emotional reference to the opposite individual Emotional bonds are sometimes precursors to extra intimate involvement, as people begin to share private ideas, emotions, and experiences Moreover, hedonic responses within the mind are very troublesome to withstand. What begins as innocent flirting could result in crossing established boundaries inside the major relationship. This could contain sharing an excessive amount of personal data, even about your accomplice or conflicts, or partaking in provocative discussions When does flirting cross the road? When innocent flirting finally turns into one thing decidedly much less innocent — bodily intimacy 5. It causes jealousy and insecurity Is flirting dishonest when there’s intent to draw others? Sure, if the intent is simply to make your accomplice jealous, you’re positively betraying them. Insecurity and jealousy in a relationship are emotional reactions that may be triggered inside a romantic relationship when one accomplice engages in flirtatious habits or when there’s a notion that the boundaries of the connection are being examined. This additionally contains when a accomplice permits others to flirt with them, even when they don’t flirt again. As one Reddit person places it, “My boyfriend is an especially good man … Given this, quite a lot of ladies he meets via sports activities and work flirt and present romantic curiosity in him regardless of understanding he’s in a relationship. In some circumstances, they do it proper in entrance of me and say nasty issues behind my again whereas pretending to be good and enjoyable in entrance of my boyfriend. Chalk this as much as insecurity, however it’s rising so irritating due to the sheer lack of respect these ladies have for our relationship and it’s turning me into somebody I’m not (at all times having my guard up and being nervous when he’s round ladies).”

6. You fall into the comparability entice Comparisons in a dedicated relationship usually trigger emotions of insecurity. It may be triggered when one accomplice flirts with another person, particularly when the affected accomplice is already going via a tricky time. Such open acts of insensitivity can pressure the connection. Telling the affected accomplice that it’s “simply harmless flirting” invalidates their emotions and constitutes a type of gaslighting. It could result in emotional detachment, power suspicion, and, in extreme circumstances, the dissolution of the connection. The accomplice who feels betrayed will be unable to belief their accomplice’s one reality among the many many lies. It’s essential to deal with this situation and talk about boundaries earlier than the belief between the 2 of you is totally gone. Rebuilding belief in a relationship takes effort and time from each companions. It entails light, clear communication, setting and respecting boundaries, addressing the underlying points that led to the breakdown, and demonstrating constant reliability and honesty. 9. It violates relationship agreements Relationship agreements can embody a variety of guidelines and bounds, relying on the particular wants and preferences of the people concerned. Widespread agreements embrace pointers associated to monogamy, exclusivity, conversations with others, and bounds for social or bodily interplay outdoors the connection. Ignoring or breaching your accomplice’s boundaries by flirting whereas in a dedicated relationship is a violation of relationship guidelines. This violation immediately impacts belief, resulting in a lack of relationship satisfaction that may be difficult to restore. You wouldn’t be so able to breach a piece settlement, so why disrespect a relationship settlement by flirting at work whereas in a relationship? Or by hitting on a brand new good friend whose intentions your accomplice warned you about?

Silent Love
( L’amore non detto)
“A poetry book about love.Talking about love is difficult, especially when it comes to our love, our emotions. What are the bonds that bind us as a species, is evident, but much more evident is the thread that connects us, one to the other. The desire to be recognized as part of the world, is very often identified with the conjunction of the loved one, and therefore, the fusion, the attempt to be part of a single emotion. Then, time naturally sweeps away the memories, and transforms anger, pain and even love into acts of resistance, and this, out of a spirit of survival, taking away all denied pain...all silent love.”

Study identifies cognitive benefits of ketamine in patients with treatment-resistant depression
W
hich factors determine what we believe about our world, ourselves, our past, and our future? Cognitive neuroscience suggests that our beliefs are dependent on brain activity, specifically on the way our brains process sensory information in order to make sense of our environment. These beliefs (defined as probability estimates) are central to our brain’s predictive processing function, which enables it to predict the probabilistic structure of the world around us. These predictions could even be the fundamental building blocks of mental states, such as perceptions and emotions. Many psychiatric disorders, such as depression and schizophrenia, are characterised by irregular beliefs whose origins we still don’t fully understand. But if we can identify the cerebral systems governing them, we could target those very areas in a bid to alleviate the pain associated to these illnesses. Decoding belief mechanisms in psychiatry. This is one of the findings of our study recently published in the journal JAMA Psychiatry. For this study, I explored with my team how the dissociative psychotropic, ketamine, affects mechanisms of belief updating (i.e., how we change our beliefs upon receiving information) in patients with treatmentresistant depression. While traditional antidepressants take weeks to show any results, ketamine – an antagonist molecule that acts on the NMDA (N-methyl-D-aspartate) receptors – produces antidepressant effects within hours. When administered, it

also causes a dissociative experience of depersonalisation typically associated with a sensation of leaving the body (known as “autoscopy”). Given that ketamine’s rapid action and unexpected dissociative effects make it a potentially worthwhile option for treating mental health problems, we are on a mission to unpack this mystery, at the crossroads between pharmacology and neuroscience. Cognitive-affective biases in depression According to the World Health Organization, depression affects approximately 280 million people in the world and 700 000 people die due to suicide every year. One of the most specific symptoms of depression is depressive beliefs (e.g., pessimism, self-deprecation, rejection, and feelings of failure), described as “mood-congruent” beliefs when their content matches the subject’s affective state. By influencing the patient’s perception and action, these beliefs play a vital role in triggering the phenomenon of negative auto-reinforcement. For example, the belief that we have been rejected by our peers gradually makes us more withdrawn, which in turn reinforces feelings of worthlessness. Once this feedback loop has been closed, it can be difficult not to spiral downward. Ever since the pioneering research of psychiatrist Aaron Beck, many studies have suggested that the ways in which information is encoded in belief networks according to their valence (i.e., their positive or negative nature) could be linked to the emergence of depressive beliefs.
This innovative research has shown that our brains are likelier to encode positive information. Known as “affective bias”, this phenomenon is responsible for generating beliefs that are slightly more positive than reality. For instance, we tend to think we are more intelligent, more attractive, better drivers or better lovers than what is shown in statistical reality. However, with depression, this bias disappears or flips, with patients taking in more negative-valence information that gradually generates gloomier beliefs about the world, themselves, or the future. This phenomenon of an inverted affective bias could well be key to understanding the origins of depressive beliefs. How ketamine acts on belief systems We launched our study on the back of a surprising clinical observation made at our unit at Paris’s Hôpital de la Pitié-Salpêtrière. When given ketamine as an antidepressant, patients with treatment-resistant depression reported feeling a strange sensation whereby their perspectives on the world seemed to have shifted, almost as though their very point of view had been altered. The negative beliefs that they had been carrying for several months appeared to have faded. Some patients even expressed a feeling of foreignness, as if their thoughts belonged to someone else. Even more intriguingly, these changes appeared to result from the drug’s antidepressant effect, although we still don’t understand the causality of this.

n light of our patients’ accounts, we suspected that ketamine had affected the brain’s belief-updating mechanisms. In an effort to understand this phenomenon, we conducted an experiment intended to assess ketamine’s influence on the ways we generate beliefs, using pre- and posttreatment experimental task and computational modelling. Prior to the ketamine administrations, we asked patients and healthy subjects to assess their likelihood of experiencing 40 different future negative events (e.g., being bitten by a dog or having a car accident). After being informed of the actual occurrence risks in the general population, the two groups were again asked to assess the probability of these events occurring in their lives. Results show healthy subjects took into account new positive facts to update their beliefs, whereas this was not the case for depressed persons. However, this changed only four hours after receiving the first ketamine dose: patients were far less sensitive to negative information and recovered their ability to update their beliefs. This meant the positive affective bias had been restored among patients with treatment-resistant depression. All the more surprisingly, this effect was directly linked to a reduction in depressive symptoms after one week, which suggests that these cognitive changes may even occur prior to clinical improvement. Avenues of future research Further research is needed to understand the brain processes associated with these changes, but many clues point to the involvement of NMDA
Nothing is permanent Psychology
receptor-mediated signalling. These neuronal receptors contribute to the brain’s excitation-inhibition balance, and appear to be essential to predictive processing and brain plasticity. Ketamine’s direct action on the activity of these receptors may constitute a direct pharmacological pathway that regulates predictive mechanisms, which would explain the drug’s rapid-onset antidepressant effects and its dissociative properties. By controlling the way the brain uses its sensory building blocks to generate beliefs, ketamine could help change the mechanisms behind depressive symptoms. These hypotheses open up numerous perspectives for developing treatments targeting brain processing, or for combining these molecules with augmented psychotherapy, protocols that focus specifically on belief systems. This goal is at the core of debates in so-called psychedelic medicine, particularly in treatment using psilocybin, a hallucinogenic molecule that also presents rapid antidepressant effects. Could this research help bring pharmacological and psychotherapeutic approaches together in psychiatry?

It’s incorrect. It coexists with us even when not within the types of the previous. Household and faculty now not have authoritarian traits”, observes the neuropsychiatrist and psychoanalyst Massimo Ammaniti. «However as Charles Darwin defined to us, if you say “no” to a toddler, the kid obeys and withdraws from his transgression. Nevertheless, his elaboration is just not restricted to the fact that’s denied to him. Internally one thing threatening develops inside him, his phantasmatic superego takes form. The sensation of disgrace will increase in him, that’s, the embarrassment of tips on how to relate to others and of being judged by them. ” Kafka was the good narrator of guilt. When within the Metamorphosis he discovers that he has develop into an insect, he isn’t involved together with his new painful situation however with the actual fact of not having the ability to perform his day by day duties, of neglecting the home and the looming chores.
At present, as Ammaniti claims, regret for our failures it doesn’t inhibit us because it did in a coercive and patriarchal society. Within the many years from 1960 to the Nineties, the phrases “obligations” and “accountability” have been erased from the day by day lexicon and there was dialogue of “self-realization” or the appropriate to get pleasure from life in response to one’s wants. We’ve got crossed the penumbra of hedonism apparently free from constraints. However guilt has risen from the ashes of our fictitious freedom. What are its types? «We’re not all the time able to coping with our weaknesses. A day by day narcissism dominates”, observes the psychoanalyst Silvia Lagorio. «We reside in a context through which we don’t settle for limits. We all the time need extra. Power dissatisfaction is assured. And we’re unable to carry on except it’s at the price of excessive ranges of hysteria, despair and anguish. At present it is usually and above all adolescents or very younger individuals who reside closed within the jail of their ego and

and the everlasting want for self-absolution Nevertheless, the sense of guilt is not only self-aggression: it might even have an academic operate, it’s an alarm sign that urges us to repeatedly query ourselves. Do the Erinyes assist to sentimental schooling? «Let’s rediscover the sense of guilt», is the exhortation of the psychiatrist Vittorino Andreoli The reward of errorthrough which he denounces: “The sense of guilt is dying, as a result of the sense of disgrace dominates: you are able to do something so long as you don’t get caught.” However what position do social media and the web have? Do they make us careless? Do they anesthetize the remorse for our failures? «We reside in a a lot much less hierarchical society than that of earlier generations: the household ties of the previous and the constructions of the superego related to them have been changed by extra cell relational types, behaviors in which there’s a prevalence of motion and do on thought”, observes the psychoanalyst Paola Marion. «Social media, digital actuality in its varied expressions contribute to this, pace dominates all the pieces and the answer arrives shortly. It’s usually absolution from any sense of guilt. The torment of getting failed or made a mistake, quite the opposite, is the muse of reparative paths, repentance and new understandings. What Straight Males Can Be taught About Intercourse From Lesbian Girls
Many research have proven that in contrast with males, throughout accomplice intercourse, heterosexual girls are considerably much less prone to have orgasms. Heterosexual girls are additionally much less prone to have orgasms than lesbian girls. Why? As a result of, in contrast to many males, lesbian girls perceive the significance of the clitoris.
The most recent report to point out the hetero-women/lesbian orgasm divide was carried out by researchers at a number of U.S. universities. They solicited members by posting on the MSNBC web site. Greater than 24,000 heterosexual girls replied together with 340 lesbians. Demographic matching produced a closing pattern of two,510 straight girls and 283 lesbians, aged 18 to 65 who had been in ongoing relationships and reported accomplice intercourse through the earlier month. The lesbians reported a considerably larger chance of orgasm (p < 0.001). Is One thing Flawed With Many Girls? A century in the past, through the Nineteen Twenties, twenty years earlier than Indiana College’s Alfred Kinsey grew to become the primary publicly acknowledged intercourse researcher, New York gynecologist Robert Dickinson, M.D., quietly surveyed 1,000 married girls in his apply about their sexuality. Their essential criticism? No orgasms throughout accomplice intercourse. Nearly all had been orgasmic solo, however with their husbands, even these in loving marriages hardly ever climaxed. Kinsey’s a lot bigger research within the Forties confirmed that in accomplice lovemaking, significantly fewer girls than males have orgasms. And since Kinsey, the orgasm gender divide has been constantly reconfirmed 32

in dozens of research. With companions, males report orgasms round 95 p.c of the time, however relying on the examine, the determine for heterosexual girls is far decrease. Why? Two potentialities—one thing about girls or one thing about their accomplice’s intercourse. For many years, intercourse researchers and the general public assumed it was one thing about girls. Many individuals imagine that ladies are the extra emotionally difficult gender, subsequently, even minor emotional upsets would possibly derail their orgasms. Girls additionally imagine orgasm difficulties say one thing about them and their psychology. Investigators at Valparaiso College in Indiana requested 452 girls why they’d bother coming. The ladies’s checklist: anxiousness, ache, poor self-lubrication, and physique picture points. Many research have documented 4 components that make modest variations in girls’s price of partner-sex orgasms: Demographics. As girls’s age, training, and earnings rise, their chance of orgasm will increase a bit. Beliefs. In contrast with girls who embrace spiritual fundamentalism (intercourse just for procreation) and conventional gender roles (male breadwinners, feminine homemakers), girls who embrace extra liberal views are a little bit extra prone to have orgasms. Relationships. As relationship happiness will increase, girls’s chance of
climaxing will increase modestly. Sexual trauma. In contrast with survivors of kid sexual abuse and/ or sexual assault, girls free from sexual trauma are considerably extra prone to come.
Nevertheless, add up all these impacts and so they don’t come wherever close to explaining the orgasm hole between heterosexual women and men. Not the Girls, the Intercourse Because the millennium, a number of sexologists have turned away from a microscopic concentrate on girls’s psychology to analyzing the nitty-gritty of accomplice lovemaking. They’ve found that, in contrast with the components above, what lovers do—or don’t do—in mattress makes a a lot larger distinction and largely explains the orgasm divide. Girls’s skill to have orgasms has much less to do with their emotional complexity than with the erotic caresses their companions present. Australian researchers surveyed 5,118 straight women and men aged 16 to 59 concerning the 4 components mentioned above, then requested them to explain the genital contact they’d acquired throughout their most upto-date accomplice play—and in the event that they’d come. As common, 95 p.c of the lads reported climaxing, however among the many girls simply 69 p.c. The ladies’s demographics, beliefs, relationships, and trauma histories made solely a small distinction of their price of orgasms. In the meantime, throughout their most up-to-date erotic tangos, members reported having their genitals touched in 3 ways: vaginal intercourse (95 p.c), therapeutic massage by hand (80 p.c), and oral intercourse (25 p.c).
A
mong the many males, the chance of orgasm diverse solely barely based mostly on the sorts of genital contact they acquired: Simply intercourse: Males reporting orgasms—96 p.c Hand job and intercourse: 95 p.c Hand job, intercourse, and fellatio: 98 p.c However for the ladies, the chance of orgasm diverse significantly based mostly on the varieties of genital caresses they acquired: Simply intercourse: Girls reporting orgasms—50 p.c Vulvar-clitoral therapeutic massage, fingering, and intercourse: 71 p.c Vulvar-clitoral therapeutic massage, fingering, intercourse, and cunnilingus: 86 p.c For replica, intercourse is all about intercourse. However for girls’s pleasure and orgasms, it’s largely about males offering all three sorts of genital contact—significantly vulvar-clitoral therapeutic massage and oral intercourse. Girls’s pleasure/orgasm organ is just not the vagina. It’s the clitoris, the little nub that sits outdoors the vagina, an inch or so above it, nestled beneath the highest junction of the vaginal lips. Intercourse doesn’t present a lot clitoral stimulation‚ even when it is prolonged intercourse with an enormous penis.
However clitoral therapeutic massage and cunnilingus do. Different research corroborate this: In contrast with accomplice lovemaking, girls come sooner and extra reliably from self-sexing, which entails direct clitoral caresses. Indiana College researchers surveyed 1,055 girls aged 14 to 94. Fewer than one in 5 (18 p.c) reported orgasms solely from intercourse. Most stated they wanted direct clitoral caresses. And plenty of of those that may come throughout intercourse stated their orgasms felt extra satisfying with direct clitoral caresses. Scientists from a number of universities surveyed 407 lesbians and 370 heterosexual girls. The 2 teams had been demographically comparable, however the lesbians reported considerably extra orgasms. They acquired extra vulvar therapeutic massage, fingering, and cunnilingus. Researchers at Chapman College in Southern California analyzed orgasms amongst 52,588 American adults. Lesbian girls reported coming in 86 p.c of encounters, heterosexual girls solely 65 p.c. The lesbians kissed extra, shared extra mutual whole-body therapeutic massage, and acquired extra vulvar therapeutic massage, fingering, and cunnilingus. One of many world’s largest porn websites, PornHub, tracks searches by gender. In contrast with males, girls are 3 times extra prone to search “cunnilin-
gus” and “p*ssy consuming.” Clitoral Caresses … and a Few Different Issues Within the current examine that opened this put up, in contrast with heterosexual girls, lesbians acquired far more clitoral consideration. They had been additionally extra prone to schedule intercourse upfront, bathe or bathe collectively earlier than lovemaking, speak about their intercourse, and interact in light kissing, deep kissing, and mutual whole-body therapeutic massage caressing that lasted for greater than half-hour. Consideration, straight males: If you would like the ladies in your lives to have orgasms each time, make love the way in which lesbian girls do. Interview with Stefano Ricchetti by Roberto Sironi
W
ho is Stefano Ricchetti?
Born in Milan (Italy) on 14 December 1962 Posturometry Technician – Threeyear training course in “Posturometry Technician” University of Siena-Florence-Pisa C.R.I.S.A.F (Interuniversity Research Center on the Functional, Neurophysiological, and Pathological Anatomy of Postures, Statics and Dynamics of the Human Body) – High Specialization – AITP member (Italian Association of Posturometry Technicians) Professional Shiatsu Operator – Member of FISIEO (Italian Federation of Shiatsu Teachers and Operators) Speaker at national conferences and conventions Continuous research in the postural field Postural Health Center – c/o Centro Odontoprotesico sas – Viale Monte Ceneri 73 Milan (Italy) - +39 338 2197510 – codontoprotesico@libero. it His main profession is Posturometry Technician... How did you get into Shiatsu? To tell the truth, I began to learn about Shiatsu at a young age when practicing the discipline of Kung Fu, I periodically, at the suggestion of our master, had myself treated by professional opera-

tors to re-establish a correct energetic balance. The results were surprising and I promised myself throughout my life that sooner or later I would find the time to study and learn it What is Shiatsu for you? It is an art for health which through pressure exerted on the whole body (“shi” fingers “atsu” pressure”) helps to rebalance the organism both from a physiological and above all energetic point of view, trying to stimulate the ability to “self-healing” Tell us some anecdotes about this discipline! Some experiences involved me emotionally. One in particular, during an event organized by the Association to help autistic people, in which we were present as Fisieo, there was a girl who did not even want to be “touched”, let’s imagine undergoing treatment. Her mother confirmed everything and that she was adamant about the decisions she had made. With patience and an empathetic attitude I managed to treat her on her back, then have her as an assistant in organizing treatments for her friends, and finally, having noticed that it could also be received from her back, she wanted further treatment with clear emotion on the part of the parent present and final photograph of the two of us as a souvenir of the day. Fantastic
Could it be asserted that Shiatsu is also an art in its way? Certainly and, despite being a relatively modern discipline, it has its origins in Chinese culture and medicine You and I have created events regarding this discipline: Shiatsu and Art! What kind of experience was it for you? The most fascinating thing was the participants’ noticing how a treatment they conducted integrated perfectly in harmony with the environment that had been created and they found the same “sensations” they experienced when reading a text or viewing a canvas. Can art and medicine coexist only as hobbies or do they have something in their cultural and scientific DNA that associates them, that makes them similar, that joins them at the highest point of creation, i.e. talent? After all, they are also two philosophies that heal! Don’t you think? Medicine is the supreme art of healing. Rehabilitation devices must be produced “lege artis”. Talent is a set of knowledge, culture, skill, and other factors that contribute to making an individual stand out within their professionalism. In recent years, many initiatives related to “Art Therapy” have been developed.
How is Shiatsu currently considered in public opinion? Do you want to explain it to the readers of I’M Italian? Those who have had the opportunity to receive Shiatsu treatment from accredited professionals are certainly the sounding board for making this art more and more known. Volunteering is conducted in hospitals, retirement homes, and schools. Expressions of gratitude come from many quarters. Every year during “Shiatsu Week” events are held throughout Italy and there is no shortage of interventions on national television networks A perhaps unexpected question... As the visionary that I am, I ask you: do you think there is still room in this world to be visionaries, dreamers, and utopians? Three concepts integrate. Without a dream, a desire, or a vision for the future what can tomorrow hold for us? They are the lifeblood and growth of the human being. Can nature and Shiatsu be complementary? The energy of the body, the “qi” (pronounced “chi”) continuously exchanges with everything, gives and receives. They can be complementary and interdependent You are a Shiatsuka...Do you want to explain it to the readers of I’M Italian?
The Professional Shiatsu Operator is someone who, after a three-year training course and a one-year master’s degree, having passed the respective exams, can register with one of the Associations accredited by the Ministry of Business and Made in Italy (formerly MISE) in the context of Professions Law 4/2013 and consequently receive a Quality Certificate towards users So that you are very busy in the field of “health!” Can you tell us about it? What are your Shiatsu experiences aside? I have long advocated the concept of Integrated Postural Medicine. With valid collaborators, both in the medical and wellness fields, we have managed to create a working group where competence, professionalism, continuous research and, above all, humility allow us to work in the best possible way for the health of our patients. We compare, we question, and we collectively evaluate each case. The greatest joy is seeing the smile of gratitude of the people who entrust themselves to us As you know I wrote a book dedicated to Shiatsuka entitled: “Shi & Atsu...Method of Literary Manipulation in Search of a Humorous Rebalancing”...I would like to have your criticism, an opinion here, in this interview ...Who better than you could describe a Shiatsuka? You know that when you sent me the draft, I was immediately struck by the
chapter where you see the Shiatsu operator as a puppeteer who moves the strings (energy channels) of the puppet (recipient) to “make an individual a new man with himself inside ”. These words are Shiatsu Projects, ideas, future aspirations? Develop the concept of multidisciplinarity more and more, conduct research and increasingly broaden the field of knowledge, transfer what we have learned to young people, interface and collaborate with the various fields with a main objective, the health of our patients Speaking of the future: what is this portion of time that is not well defined but always plausible and imaginable for you? And what Shiatsu will be in the future? Will it change, will it modify itself...Will it remain faithful to its origins? Without a future, neither the present nor the past could exist due to the rapidity of their passing. As Master Masunaga, one of the fathers of Shiatsu, maintained, each of us plays his part in the process of development of a subject, and Shiatsu needs, without forgetting its origins, to evolve, adapting to time present One last question that might seem obvious but isn’t at all: why should you do Shiatsu? To feel good!

Christmas Blues
The Grinch syndrome
By Susanna Casubolo
Grinch Syndrome, Natalephobia, or Christmas Blues? What kind of Christmas are you suffering from?
C
hristmas is not a magical holiday for everyone: decorations, family reunions, festive spirit, and looking for gifts do not represent joy for everyone. For some, the discomfort linked to this period does not occur on the night before, but can even begin a few weeks before, the start of the holidays is often preceded by frenetic rhythms, tight work schedules, and tasks to be fulfilled before the end of the year.
Adding to the increase in work stress are compulsive Christmas shopping, the search for the perfect gift, the wild traffic in the city, and the succession of invitations to family lunches and dinners. If you decide to spend the Christmas holidays away from home to try to avoid this type of commitment, the stress is represented by planning the trip well in advance so as not to risk losing the best hotel or finding trains or planes already full. Therefore what should be a period of holiday, relaxation, and family closeness is perceived less and less as such and more and more as a responsibility or a social obligation towards friends and relatives with whom one cannot escape from the duty of organizing and attending a meeting. Furthermore, Christmas is in many cases the only time of the year when all family members get together and it is precisely on this occasion that old and new disagreements emerge which ruin the perfectly serene atmosphere that one should expect.

Psychology
by Susanna Casubolo Does Grinch syndrome exist?
W
e all know the fictional character created by the writer Dr. Seuss in his book “The Grinch”. In the story, the Grinch tries to steal all the holidays from the citizens of Chiville by ruining them and is depicted as a green, furry creature who hates Christmas because of the noise, celebration, and consumerism associated with the holiday. The Grinch syndrome is used to describe the discomfort or hatred that some people feel during the Christmas period towards certain aspects of this celebration: the prevailing emotions are sadness and anger, and there is a tendency towards isolation because even the crowds, shopping, lights and Christmas carols are extremely annoying. This syndrome is mainly suffered in adulthood, following negative events that have led to rejecting this type of holiday and feeling repelled by the collective good mood dictated by the calendar. Can you be afraid of Christmas? There is a condition called “Natalophobia”, Christmas phobia, or “Christmas claustrophobia”. This condition is characterized by intense anxiety or fear related to the holiday season. For people who do not suffer from decorations, social and family gatherings and the pressure associated with buying gifts create a strong discomfort. Symptoms related to this condition can be: • intense anxiety when the Christmas period approaches or when you are involved in activities related to the holidays; • excessive fear of situations related to Christmas celebrations; • active avoidance of situations, plac-

es, or activities related to Christmas; • physical symptoms such as palpitations, excessive sweating, tremors, nausea or headaches; • sleep disorders; • increased sense of irritability and frustration. Is Christmas phobia contagious? Phobias are individual psychological conditions that arise from personal experiences, irrational fears, or environmental factors, however, people can be influenced on an emotional or behavioral level by the fears or anxiety of those around them. For example, if a person in the family or social environment around Christmas phobia, it could influence others in how they approach the holidays or perceive the Christmas atmosphere. What are those who suffer from Christmas phobia afraid of? Specific fears vary from person to person, but there are common situations and elements associated with Christmas phobia, that is, the fear of Christmas decorations such as lights, Christmas trees, or decorations; fear of social gatherings; social pressure associated with expectations of gifts, parties or event attendance; stress related to gift purchases; the memory of traumatic or negative experiences during the holidays in the past. Some articles have made the world aware of the phobia of the Englishman Garry Hollidge, for whom Christmas
is a source of panic because the figure of the dancing Santa Claus terrifies him. The man who lives in Kent discovered his phobia at just 7 years old, it is currently so strong that it forces him to stay at home for the holidays to avoid decorations which also include small dancing figures which are extremely disturbing for him. Can Christmas make you melancholy? “Christmas Blues” is a term that is often used to describe a sense of sadness or melancholy that some people may experience during the Christmas season. This mood can be caused by several factors and can vary from person to person. Some common reasons include sad memories, especially if a person has experienced loss or difficult times during the holidays in the past; loneliness, if there is a lack of social and family connection; shopping stress; unrealistic expectations about the Christmas season which should always be happy and problem-free; significant life events, such as separations, job losses, or other major changes that can negatively affect mood. Grinch, anxious or melancholic, how can we deal with the malaise associated with Christmas? A first step can be represented by becoming aware of what you are feeling and reflecting on the individual reasons that are causing the state of discomfort. Is it something related to the excessive workload? Does a difficult family reunion worry us? Maybe the social obligation of buying gifts stresses us out too much? Understanding where the discomfort comes from is essential to establishing an action plan that can help us fight it.

n its traditional meaning, the one most commonly used in common language, war is understood as a conflict between two or more parties in conflict for ideological, political, religious, and social reasons! Making war would seem to be the last stage for a solution that would then lead to peace! So seen like this it is quite logical to think that it is totally and fundamentally anachronistic to wage war if the final goal is peace! It would be like breaking an arm beforehand because you know a priori the way to heal it! Peace is always there, or rather, it exists as peace because the conditions, not for maintaining it but for enabling it in the way of daily living, are more than evident! Peace is the only correct system that governs every social system! So why kill others to get what’s already there? It would seem like an obvious question but instead, it is a question full of pitfalls and deceptions because it endangers, threatens, and plots the common idea we have of the latter! Peace, even in our era, is admitted and always associated with war as if it could not be maintained without conflict! The conflict...but what do we mean by conflict? It is usually accepted as the opposition between two or more people when the satisfaction or desire or achievement of an objective by an individual comes into conflict with the desires or objectives of the other or others! When this conflict expands, overflows, and flows rampantly into society it becomes war, a war that can be between sovereign states or coalitions for the resolution of an international dispute more or less motivated by the reasons just listed above! But will it be like this? Is this the real reason for waging war? And above all: can problems be solved by waging war? If we go through the historical realities we discover that there have been many wars in the history of humanity and unfortunately, as has been demonstrated, they were all useless wars because they proposed and re-proposed at their end the same paradigms, the same models, the same examples of society, a society made up, more or less, of two large families: the poor and the rich! Unfortunately, the world has always worked like this, and when I say the world I mean those who live in it, that is, the human being! Man, or what he should be, in addition to being a predator by his nature, paradoxically also has the gift of thought and intelligence which should, on the contrary, redeem, condemn, and eliminate the idea of war and instead, they are not enough... Man also has the gift of criterion, perception, understanding, of cognition but even these affective and effective intentionalities are Benito Mussolini of no use, they are wasted as much as the entire intellect, which as the absolute protagonist of our actions could use them to emancipate yourself and to emancipate your reality!

o why? What drives human beings to wage wars, fall into the abyss of violence, and cross that boundary line that divides logic from irrationality, reasoning from inconsistency, reasoning from an inevitable disconnection with reality? Yet over time the “war” phenomenon has been studied and explored in detail by pomologists, historians, philosophers, specialists, experts, sociologists, and scholars of all kinds, but nothing can be done: the topic of war and those who use this topic to imposing its truth has not yet been understood or perhaps more likely it has not yet been ethically explained for various reasons, too many to list, therefore the meaning of war and its necessity are a truth not to be undermined, evidence not to be discussed, a reality not to be seen! This phenomenon of ancestral social ignorance has its distinctive feature in violence and violence inevitably and constantly brings with it ferocity, cruelty, brutality, and the most diabolical of virulences! What if it were a virus that man has always carried within him, hidden in his most tribal and wild habits? Or what if it were an incurable disease that has no proven symptoms but only clues and signs of an incurable inhuman deficiency? Now and then we hear that man, with his body, forms a perfect machine - are we sure of this? - maybe, but what is always evident is the imperfection in his vituperable ways of existing! We cannot forget that war, as a social phenomenon, also has repercussions and repercussions on culture, art, customs, the economy, myths, and above all on the collective imagination which every time writes or rewrites the need for a new conflict! We even managed to make a ranking of the ways to wage war! Isn’t that incredible? As if war could be cataloged, ordered, and reordered according to various types of schemes and classifications! We invented conventional war, then unconventional warfare, just to give us a tone of ancestral democracy, bacteriological and chemical warfare, high or low-intensity conflicts, and warfare with weapons of mass destruction... In short, we didn’t miss anything in the semantic field of destruction! We have supplied ourselves with revolutions, guerrillas, insurrections, and terrorism to the point of descending into our most lugubrious minimalism, so here are the assassins, the killers, the hitmen, the murders, the multiple murders and so much more! The common thread, the connecting element between the affective moment and the cognitive moment is always death and never life! We are addicted to death and if it is violent we like it even more!

e are very prepared when w e want to catalog our actions, sort out human facts, order, divide, and group our excesses, abuses, and historical enormities and we do it with great professionalism! Nothing escapes us, we are always on track! One of the most brilliant ideas ever had by human beings - I don’t know who came up with it but he is certainly a genius in his way, understanding very well from the masses! – is that to maintain peace you have to send men armed to the teeth to avoid a war! It would be like hitting a child to explain to him what violence is! When paradoxes become reality they even surpass fantasy to the point of becoming a fundamental and proven reality! But how do you maintain an equation so absurd that precisely because it is absurd it has become normal?
massacre!
Some will say that this is right, that in order not to wage war we need soldiers and we need many of them and well-armed ones! It’s a shame because for the same opposite reason, to make a war you need just as many soldiers and the soldiers shoot, kill, destroy, get rid of other soldiers, liquidate human beings as if they were damaged goods, suppress everything that needs to be eliminated, many times they execute, other times they
First of all the tension is marked by a period of incompatibility between the parties, then slimily we move on to the period of crisis to slide after some time with the stroke of genius of natural resources, food needs, and energy sources! When that’s not enough, we move on to the most miserably bureaucratic reasons, for example, territorial or commercial disputes! Ultimately, perhaps due to a fact of false modesty, poorly
Winter 2023/ - The Femicide issue
Interestingly, the main thread that links peace to war is always and only the soldiers, that is, the warriors and never the peacemakers! The soldiers are the promoters, the supporters of every possible peace, when they are there one of the two solutions is assured, it’s a shame that they are two opposite, contrary, antithetical solutions! And the war? It’s always the same, a viaticum to prove that someone is wrong and someone else is right! It is the shortest way to determine who was right and who was wrong, a guide that will leave to History the truths of who won and all of this organized and built according to precise temporal phases! Every war is preceded by symptoms and clues, warning signs and indications, hints of lies and revelations that do not even reveal their meaning!
managed restraint, or a sense of aversion and defense in the morbid and equivocal aspects of thought, we resort to religious, cultural, and above all ethnic conflicts, the latter always in fashion, always work, make news, create public opinion and are highly sought after by violence collectors! War is a suspension from normality, an existential extension, a truce – absurdly! – to the detriment of happiness! War is the destitution of logic and common sense, a departure from reality, an interruption of everyday life, and an absolute cessation of intelligence! In this state of things, the human being erases, cancels, and extinguishes everything peaceful, mild, and serene to make, on the contrary, quarrelsome, aggressive, and violent! After thousands of years and years of presence on this tormented Planet Earth, we are still here talking about war and its necessary existence! …And we cannot forget that this word has also forcefully entered our daily lives, our actions, our way of life! Of course, in this sense, war is not waged with bullets and cannons, but it is waged with injustices, abuses, arrogance, prevarications, abuses and wrongs!
The Sironi Method
I
n this current situation where there is war, there is normality as if war were a logical consequence of everything that happens, that happens to us! Where there is war there is habit, custom... In many cases it becomes a norm, a practice that takes place in an extraordinary and absurd regularity! War is no longer an anomaly but a typical feature of our times! I read somewhere that according to data from the Uppsala Conflict Data Program (UCDP), a conflict research program carried out by the Swedish University of Uppsala, there are 170 conflicts taking place in the world! If we consider that there are 206 states in the world, 196 of which are recognized as sovereign, 9 semi or unrecognized states, and 2 states in free association, it is clear that the “war” solution - the one that stops one hundred percent of irresolution - is a of the most popular, the most used, the most used, the most used! This means that more or less 80 percent of the world experiences war situations! It’s amazing, practically amazing! If the meaning of war produces death, that of peace, in this current situation it only produces chatter! Everyone begs for peace as if it could fall from the sky: politicians, presidents, priests, sociologists, philosophers, common people, and ordinary people! Everyone, without distinction, condemns war but not its original sin which is none other than the human being in all its incomplete complexity! War and peace, war or peace? This is the dilemma for a better world! The fact remains that if war had never existed we would never have needed peace! War is an unnatural calamity, an artificial catastrophe, an existential disaster, a tragedy for all the history books that have made violence history! War is the most blatantly inconsistent and populist part of madness! What would Tolstoy say about this? He knew a lot about war and peace! Milan, 10 November 2023.

Mandala
Mandala Nothing is permanent
By Fabrizio Catalfamo (F. Guzzardi)
A
s children, we often went to the port to watch the fishermen mending their nets. The ashes of Etna made even some sunny days grey. Here, how everything is temporary, resonated in every step, in every word. It is symptomatic that in the Sicilian dialect, no verb can be conjugated in the future tense. This sense of precariousness, of the provisional, ultimately hides a profound wisdom. Tibetan monks intent on the art of the mandala patiently draw with colored powders, already knowing that, at the first gust of wind, everything will vanish. And the Ganden migrants who are waiting for another opportunity to come together on the matter know this well. We spoke French on winter evenings and it didn’t matter if it was Jacques Brel, Brassens, or Aznavour. We entered the alleys of the town with the doors open. And life, yes, seemed eternal. I wanted to be a singer...one day perhaps while the unaware guitar followed me in every step of my empty days. Nothing is permanent, not even her eyes that were my whole world. And my mother’s hands holding me up tired. Now everything appears to be in the norms of things, life with death... and memories appear more beautiful while the age of reason fades like a Mandala.

I’vealwayswondered what is Magic!?
The house with the courtyard, the sea and solitude
T
he vain expectations were transformed into moments of contemplation and reflection, in which time spread and thoughts became profound. But in the end, perhaps, the answer was not as important as the simple fact of letting the mind open up to new possibilities, sheltering in that house with the courtyard that seemed to guard a world of eternity.
While my mind was lost in these thoughts, my soul expanded, enveloping me between the basil leaves and the background voices from the adjacent windows. It was at those times that I could meet BYand ROBERTO SIRONI “Don Bastiano”a wise and affable man, master of life fishing rods. It was a period of reflection and meditation, in which I often found myself observing the ants who, diligently, moved in line, laborious and disciplined. It was as if the walls and objects of the house kept flavors and smells of a life lived intensely. In that house with the courtyard, time seemed not to have a definite role, allowing each moment to stretch and merge with others. The long waits were transformed into moments of pure beauty, where intellect and consciousness found room to express themselves. He reached the courtyard, bringing with him memories of shared meals and moments of conviviality. It was as if the courtyard turned into an oasis of tranquility, where all worries and stress seemed to disappear. I looked at the ants, so small but so wise, and I wondered once again what the secrets of the intellect and the criteria of consciousness were. It was in that house that I could approach a sense of inner serenity, immersing myself in a unique and magical atmosphere. I lay on a rocking chair, cradled by the sweet summer warmth, and let my thoughts get lost in the serene atmosphere that permeated everything around. In that house with the courtyard, time seemed to slow down and the moments were consumed in vain waits. An imaginary friend sat next to me, spent hours with patience, woven knots to the sailor and telling stories of sea. As the sea in the distance continues to spread its invigorating smells and calls us to a state of intoxication, we find solace in the evenings spent immersed in nothingness. An Intoxicating Escape to Mental Void and Meditative States. The sea has a way of captivating our senses, beckoning us to indulge in its vastness. It is a time when my father would sit in front of our door, with his chair as his noble steed, watching passers-by and engaging in heartfelt conversations with our neighbors.

he simplicity of these interactions, free from the burden of expectations or responsibilities, allowed us to embrace the present moment fully. The sights, sounds, and scents of the sea, heightened by the company of neighbors and the simple act of observance, created a gateway to a profound mental retreat. These were the moments when I found myself immersed in nothingness, in a mental void, experiencing a blissful escape into meditative states. In these meditative states, we discover the essence of true living, the art of being present, and the profound connection that lies within the serenity of our minds. The mind would wander, untethered by the constraints of time and obligations, and find refuge in stillness and reflection. It was within this meditative state that we discovered the art of being present, of truly living in the moment. Often undervalued, these moments of nothingness, of indulging in the present moment, hold the potential for profound self-discovery. It was as if time slowed down, and the world around us faded into insignificance. We are reminded of the importance of embracing the beauty of simplicity, opening our hearts and minds to the wonders that lie beyond our own thoughts and preoccupations. It spreads its enigmatic smells, inviting us to embrace its intoxicating sensations. As the sun begins to set, painting the sky with hues of orange and pink, the day transitions into a time of tranquility. My father seated comfortably on his chair, he would ride it like a horse, relishing a childlike playfulness that entwined with the wisdom of age. Then I thought that it becomes essential to understand that life is not only made up of joys, but also of sadness, difficulties and challenges. It is a self-defense mechanism that allows us to move forward, overcome difficult times and maintain hope. Sometimes it seems like life is teaching us a lesson, punishing us for a mistake we made or simply testing us to grow. Time is an abstract concept, something we try to explain and measure, but which in its essence cannot be fully understood. Perhaps, this feeling of lack of real time is due to the fact that we are often not really aware of the present, of the things happening around us at any given moment. Only in this way will we be able to truly rediscover our true essence and ensure that time - even if not real - is well spent. “This is the life lived that is not that of memories, our mind loves to embellish sad moments.”

T
ime is a variable in constant flux, which adapts to the circumstances and emotions we experience. Let’s not let our idealized memories or distorted visions steal our joy in living. What if we understood that every experience, positive or negative, has the power to teach us something valuable? This phrase reminds us how often our mind tends to idealize the past, remembering negative events as less painful than they actually were. Our mind wanders into the past or is projected into the future, not allowing us to fully experience the present moment. But there is something even deeper that goes beyond our perception of life. We would understand that every moment is an opportunity to grow, learn, and evolve as individuals. What if we stopped idealizing sad moments and trivializing happy ones? We often focus only on great achievements or extraordinary experiences, forgetting that the true essence of happiness is hidden in the details. And sometimes we looked for the infinite in street ball games or in oratories. Sometimes yes, the divine was sought in churches consecrated with pagan statues, where priests celebrated the priesthood of nothingness, the emptiness of being, the redemption of matter. My father seated comfortably on his chair, he would ride it like a horse, relishing a childlike playfulness that entwined with the wisdom of age. In Ganden, certain souls await another opportunity.

Gwyneth Paltrow and more ostentatious luxurious IM Italian Team
Life is both model or error, stated Giovanni Arpino in instances much less burdensome than ours, when model was neither a colour nor a worth however a method, a manifestation of the spirit. We, vulgarized by haste and ambition, are given life-style, not model. And it’s one thing you go searching for and pay to have. Gwyneth Paltrow, now controversial (what a disgrace), now not an actress however a prophet (prophetess?), is aware of this and makes a lavish invoice for it. On her epic portal, platform, Amazon for eccentric rebels, goop, among the many many lists for presents, there’s one by which she recommends a 15 thousand greenback vibrator, lined in 24 karat gold; a gong course with a gong coach for two thousand euros (by no means underestimate the significance of understanding how one can play the gong, in your personal dwelling or in another person’s, in your personal time or in another person’s time, be they Tibetans or charlatans); 3 nights in Fiji in a family-run “eco-resort” for under 40 thousand {dollars} (group low cost!); an escargot-shaped desk cutlery holder bought for simply $600. The Guardian says that every one this ostentation is a part of a exact alternative by Paltrow: it’s a efficiency, in probably the most exact and pure sense of performing artwork, that’s, a demonstrative motion which, by staging the element of a time, calls it into query , denounces it.

Paltrow is the queen of the ambiguous (she entered our lives with a movie, Sliding Doorways, which informed us that life can change utterly simply by lacking a subway cease, and in that movie she had eyes that did what solely the smile of Mona Lisa is aware of how one can do it: characterize the vertigo of the double which means). It’s tough, certainly not possible, to know for what objective Paltrow acts, however it’s fascinating to comply with her parable: since cinema was a minor affair for her, she turned a wellness guru; she informed us what and how one can eat; she created and bought candles with the “scent of my vagina”; she underwent rectal ozone remedy and described the impact it had; ended up on trial final spring, accused of getting knocked over a gentleman whereas snowboarding, who then deserted within the snow, with out even deigning to assist him, a 76-year-old gentleman, Terry Sanderson, a retired optician, who requested for compensation of 300 thousand {dollars} which, poor factor, he would by no means have imagined that not solely would he lose the case miserably, however would find yourself in all of the newspapers and social media on the earth, in a trial for which she performed her better part latest years, that of the empress of the universe who agrees to resign her immunity, clothes like an abnormal, prim and impeccable particular person (the newspapers spoke of courtroom outfit.)

Eight years later, maybe, Paltrow would have the ability to agree with Minister Lollobrigida, and keep that “the poor usually eat higher than the wealthy”: in these eight years the whole lot has modified, we have now impoverished ourselves in such a dramatic and unfair method that not even Hollywood actors care about charity. uite the opposite. The show of wealth works a lot so that there’s somebody keen to swear that it’s performing artwork. And even when it had been performing artwork, what wouldn’t it inform us, apart from that we’re entangled in probably the most classist society ever?

he Cinquestelle wished to abolish poverty and easily managed to confuse it with distress: populism, in every single place, has failed within the process of bringing lessons, folks and roles nearer collectively. No person appreciated the proximity to the folks: cash is used to not be completely satisfied, however to should take care of others as little as potential. here’s the quiet luxurious (frugal luxurious), in fact: Guia Soncini wrote this summer season about Lucy: «If you’re so wealthy, why do you appear like poor folks?». And he observed that as we speak’s wealthy individuals are impolite, ugly, vulgar, heavy, frighteningly abnormal. The purpose is that they’re out of ignorance and never out of guilt. They’re as a result of they don’t understand how, like anybody else, to acknowledge magnificence, they don’t have, like anybody else, good style. Riccardo Milani: “My spouse Paola Cortellesi and the secrets and techniques of her success” Not solely that, Cortellesi is consequently additionally within the high 25 of the best grossing movies in Italy, between Italian and worldwide movies: it’s twenty second in a rating led by Avatar, first with 65.6 million euros. However the place does he ever wish to go? Actually to displace Christopher

The discovered Ornella Muti: “I’ve labored with the best, from Scola to Monicelli. There could be nothing to underline
if we had been in occasions of true equality, there may be actually a brand new sensitivity and a spotlight, the extra glances there are the higher it’ll at all times be. A couple of days in the past Alice Rohrwacher hoped to quickly emerge “from the parable of the ‘prima donna’ director, we nonetheless want many extra and that is the hope”. And this additionally comes after the controversy over the ministerial exclusion of There’s Nonetheless Tomorrow amongst selective public funding. How does Cortellesi expertise the nice file? Judging by the social networks of Imaginative and prescient which distributes the movie in theaters (produced by Wildside with Imaginative and prescient) additionally with irony: the messages are humorous: “If you happen to don’t go to see There’s Nonetheless Tomorrow on the cinema, “how true, God…” or “Don’t allow them to inform you the place to go. t’s due to this fact no coincidence that the demonstration came about right here which established the political problem of the #AbandonBiden group, fashioned a couple of days after the assault by Hamas militiamen in Israel and which in two months has unfold to different states. On Saturday, Muslim delegates from Minnesota, Arizona, Wisconsin, Florida, Georgia, Nevada and Pennsylvania converged on Michigan to start a brand new marketing campaign. Which may have a decisive and even decisive impression within the 2024 elections. These are actually the so-called swing States, i.e. the states within the steadiness which, as in 2020, additionally in 2024 will, based on projections, be the important thing ones for assigning the White Home. It is sufficient to examine the Census information with the outcomes of the 2020 presidential elections to know that the Dearborn demonstration was considered with some apprehension within the White Home. Who additionally selected to not remark. In Wisconsin there are 25 thousand Muslim voters, Biden received the state by 20 thousand. In Arizona, the place the president prevailed over Trump by 10,500 votes, the US Immigration Coverage Middle says there are 25,000 Muslim voters. The case of Michigan is much more emblematic: Biden trailed Trump by 2.8%, Arab voters make up 5% of the complete state citizens. In brief, you don’t want abacuses and complicated
calculations to know that the scenario for Biden is delicate additionally in mild of the truth that in 2020 the democratic chief received 59% of the Arab American vote and that as we speak, based on a latest survey, his reputation is at 17%. Electoral simulations and projections have proven that if even a small phase of Arabs and Muslims abandoned the polls (and never simply voted for his Republican rival, as we speak most likely Trump) Biden would discover himself in hassle in all of the Midwestern states. To not point out that different components – primarily immigration – worsen their place in Arizona. What mobilized a big a part of the Arab inhabitants – which is usually made up of Muslims – was the shyness that Biden, of their opinion, confirmed in the direction of Israel. They accuse him of not having compelled the hand of the Jewish state and of not having loudly referred to as for a ceasefire. It’s a theme that has emerged for the reason that first weeks after the Hamas assault and with the primary incursions into the Gaza Strip by the Israeli military. The place is shared by progressive deputies within the Chamber. cessity for a ceasefire and underlined that the place that Biden has taken is alienating not solely the help of Muslims and Arabs but in addition of huge slices of younger individuals. There are roughly 3.45 million People who establish as Muslim, or 1.1% of the inhabitants. They have a tendency to vote for Democrats based on analysis from the Pew Analysis Middle. The #AbandonBiden marketing campaign started in Minnesota in October after which expanded. His spokesmen acknowledge that withdrawing help from the Democratic president is a favor to Trump, who has an excellent decrease approval ranking within the Arab neighborhood because of some racist tweets and his efforts to ban Muslims from coming into the US United. The circulation of US weapons into Ukraine has dropped dramatically over the previous two months. It’s not the consequence of a political resolution, however a path that grew to become needed for the reason that Congress didn’t approve additional appropriations for Kiev. And until there are sensational and unpredictable twists, an settlement on the finances within the Home and Senate seems unlikely till mid-January. “The funds – clarify the Administration officers – can be completed on the finish of December” and the choice to scale back the quantity of allocations (the final tranche was simply 100 million final week) is the results of a technique with which privileged continuity reasonably than discovering oneself not out there within the face of bigger shipments of weapons. To this point the Administration has used over 97% of the out there funds and different small allocations may arrive in 10-15 days. However the blanket is brief. On Thursday, Ukrainian President Zelensky gave an interview to the Related Press, the most important and most 68

He reiterated that the battle within the Center East is diverting consideration from the Ukrainian trigger, however above all he denounced the shortage of weapons for the troopers on the entrance. A thrust that the White Home formally ignored, there was no official response. Furthermore, on Monday on the NATO summit of international ministers, Antony Blinken reiterated the unwavering US assist for the Ukrainians so long as needed.
Nonetheless, clarifications arrived from John Kirby, spokesperson for the US Nationwide Safety Council who politely and specifying that he “didn’t need to query Zelensky’s phrases”, thus argued the US place. «Now we have at all times given army assist at each degree and at an unbelievable tempo, each help package deal was determined and despatched following consultations with the Ukrainian generals». The choice on which weapons to ship and which not has at all times adopted a transparent path: the Pen-
with the Ukrainians and primarily based on this, the wants for essentially the most helpful sort of weapon to counter the Russians had been determined. There was the Stinger season; the one the place Javelins grew to become treasured; then the brief and medium vary missiles; as much as the Abrams tanks after which the F16s on which the Administration opened up pilot coaching. The idea of army consultants is that the F16s can’t be helpful in the mean time, amongst different issues, properly past the handfuls out there could be wanted for them to be efficient. Kirby then assured that the US “has achieved every thing doable for Ukraine’s safety not solely by intervening instantly but in addition by forming a pro-Kiev worldwide entrance”. The appointments in Ramstein of the Contact Group led by Protection Secretary Lloyd Austin and the place reiterated by Blinken of assist for so long as needed needs to be learn on this gentle. As regards the fears that US radars are primarily geared toward Jerusalem and Gaza, Kirby reassured that Ukraine
Past Zelensky’s statements, the Administration’s actual drawback is just not within the Ukrainian trenches, however in Congress the place over 100 Republican deputies are in opposition to financing the battle. They ask that the funds be commensurate with essential allocations and concrete insurance policies to fight unlawful immigration on the border with Mexico; and so they additionally need to see a technique to finish the conflict. Kirby acknowledged that the “safety package deal is shrinking and Congress must move a short lived measure.” Moreover, there are fears in Washington that the shortage of motion sends a really unhealthy message each to European allies and particularly to Putin.

inal week some Administration sources hinted that the battle is now in a stalemate from which it’s troublesome to flee. And this regardless of a big effort by the USA. Some figures: evaluating the help – army and monetary – supplied to Ukraine in 2021 with what was allotted prior to now to assist different international locations, the spending for Kiev – as a proportion of GDP – doubles that for Israel in 1979 for instance and is by far lengthy on the prime. Ukraine in 2021 was the most important recipient of help with 76.8 billion {dollars} forward of Israel 3.3 billion, Jordan, 1.6 billion. A disproportion that pushed a number of deputies to stiffen when confronted with the Biden Administration’s proposal to allocate 61.4 billion {dollars} throughout the 106 billion package deal despatched to Capitol Hill in October and nonetheless mendacity there awaiting dialogue.
Complicating the state of affairs is the counteroffensive. As of October 12, Ukraine – the report is from the CSIS research middle in Washington – had superior on common 90 meters per day on the southern entrance on the peak of the offensive. Russia, which has misplaced floor, has nonetheless managed to increase the minefields in numerous areas. 2023 26 Days {{I, 33}} When a man comes out of the darkness of his material world, the refined images of the calm beauty of the mental world will envelop him. It won’t take him long to feel the auspicious spiritual hunger. The highest needs will knock on the door of his soul. The interior of the self will become the exterior and can move in a world of cause while leaving out the world of effect. The spirit of man is made up of pure intelligence. This is the reason for his being, and it will not be the testimonies of the senses nor human opinion to obstruct the ascertained truth of the interior Christ, of the son of God within the son of man. Self-discovery will suppress the despair of existence. The spirit is a primordial essence of the human being. The heart is never sick or sad because only the finite suffers. Infinity rests in a smiling calm.”
