e are here to meet an Italian singer-songwriter of Calabrian origin, Andrea Algieri

I live in Portland in Oregon and I am from the province of Cosenza, a small town called Lutri and specific, "from Lutri" I want to say because otherwise my fellow citizens will get angry. So Andrea, how did you get to America? As I said before, I am from Calabria, but I lived in Florence, I went there to study and there I met my American ex-girlfriend and after six years of living together in Florence, we decided to move to the United States. We moved to Ithaca, a town in upstate New York, below Buffalo and stayed there for a year. How can you define your texts, what are your favorite Italian authors? I grew up with a lot of music though, I sat putting on a list of my favorite songwriters let’s say the usual de Andrè, Fossati and I’m a huge fan of Vinicio Capossella even if I really liked the first one, now I like what he’s doing a little less. Then I’m someone who has always looked to new music, new in quotes, because there is never anything new, everything has been done. Even being here in the United States, I always find out about what happens in our part of the world on a musical level, I really want to introduce artists who I believe are of great value to my American friends, especially to my musicians because, unfortunately in the United States when we talk about Italian music everyone thinks about “O sole mio, Pavarotti,
