Happy holidays Key Clubbers!
Thank you to those who came out to our events this month :). It was great to see everyone at the bubble tea social event and CandyTown. I hope everyone has a great winter break, keep an eye out for things coming up after the break
In caring and service,

We hope everyone who participated had an enjoyable and relaxing time with the dogs! We had an amazing turnout! Big thanks to the St. John's ambulance for bringing in their therapy dogs!
Great work to all the members who volunteered at Candytown! We appreciate everyone freezing their toes off in Yaletown for the event. We hope you all had a fun, enjoyable and sociable time volunteering and riding in horse carriages!
Thank you to everyone who purchased bubble tea! We’re disappointed that our gathering was cut short due to the snow but we hope you members had a great time sipping on your Gong Cha bubble tea!
The Clothing Drive was a HUGE success! Huge thank you to all the clubbers who donated to the clothing drive! Ms. Lee said it looked like a junkyard in her classroom! :D ALL donations go toward the Downtown Eastside Women’s Centre. All donations will help the women and children at the shelter!
Props to the members who attended the December DCM! Jeanne, our secretary, said she had a great time! Below is Jeanne’s recap and experience of the DCM.
“The December DCM was awesome! We learned a lot about the Key Clubs' structure and other information This information was already known by the execs, but it helps members realize how big Key Club International really is. We did icebreakers at the beginning to get to know members from the different clubs We also brainstormed ideas on how to fundraise for DCON and the district project, Holding Hands to Help End Hunger. We listened to workshops from the LTG of Division 18, Nola Stenstrom, the district governor, Kyle Hanson and Jenny Jia, our very own LTG. We participated in a scavenger hunt! We grouped off with a member of a different club and explored the UBC campus to take photos with different prompts Prompts were things like sitting in on a lecture, posing like a bodybuilder outside of body energy club, stick your face in the snow. At the DCM we got to know lots of people, we shared funny memories, and in the end, we were all basically friends! The winners of the scavenger hunt also got a prize! The DCM was very informational, fun and social! Meeting Kyle, the district governor, was super cool and wandering around the UBC campus introduced us to what university life might be like.”
- Jeanne Chen, SecretaryThanks to everyone who volunteered at Aunt Leah’s Christmas tree lot! We hope you all had a wonderful time hanging out with Christmas trees! Huge thank you to the volunteers, Forrest, Ari, Karli and Julian R, who covered the November 28th shift, it was last minute fill in and we really appreciate it. Also thanks to Kiwanis chaperones, Kitty and Sakura!

Happy Holidays and Happy New Year VT Key Club! This is the last newsletter of 2022 (calendar year). Newsletters will resume in 2023. I hope you all enjoyed reading the monthly newsletters for upcoming club events and recaps. “Don’t be a hermit this winter break” is my wish to y ’all. Make time to go to the outside world and explore, either with friends, family or by yourself. Try activities and visit events you have never done before! Just don’t stay inside all winter break bingewatching or grinding pc games. Touch snow and freeze a little bit this winter season. Enjoy your two weeks off! You deserve a break from school. See you in 2023! :)
