Under arrest are a 13year-old boy and two men in their 20s. Neither of the slain men fought back against their killers, said Edmonton police Chief Rod Knecht. “They’re heinous acts. These were extreme acts of violence. I talked to the investigators before I came in here, and

they say it was overthe-top violence. A b s o l u t e l y unnecessary, gratuitous, evil,” a stone-faced Knecht told reporters at last week news conference. One of the victims was Karanpal Singh Bhangu, a 35-year-old man who had moved to Edmonton this summer with his son Royce, said C-Anne

Police were first alerted to the crimes when someone sounded a panic alarm at that Millwoods Mac’s — the type of occurrence that’s a routine call for police, Knecht said. Police called the store three times. No one answered. An officer drove over to check on the alarm and found Bhangu grievously injured. The officer called for backup. Although police tried to revive him, he died in hospital. Meanwhile, a delivery man walked into a Mac’s store at 109th Street and 61st Avenue to find a trail (Continued Page..7)

Obama urged to remove restrictions on Sikhs in US army A prominent SikhA m e r i c a n organisation has urged US President Barack Obama to allow Sikhs to serve in the American military “without restrictions”. Obama in turn promised to look into the matter and agreed to follow up, according to the Sikh Council on Religion and Education. The chairman of the council, Rajwant Singh, met Obama at the White House on Wednesday and pressed him to allow Sikhs in US armed

forces without any restrictions.“US President promised to look into the matter and agreed to follow up,” a media release said. Singh and his wife were invited to the White House Holiday reception hosted by the First Family.

“You have to allow Sikhs to serve in the Army without any restriction. They are only able to serve if Pentagon gives them an exception. This needs to go. Please do not leave office without taking away this restriction against

Sikhs,” Singh told the President. “Sikhs are great warriors. I will look into it and will follow up,” the release quoted Obama as saying. Singh also pointed out to Obama that Canada has a turban wearing Sikh as its defence minister, which the P r e s i d e n t acknowledged. Earlier this month, in a rare exception, an activeduty Sikh combat soldier in the US army was granted a temporary r e l i g i o u s accommodation that allowed him to grow his beard and wear a turban.

,6,6 ILQDQFH FKLHI $EX 6DOHK FRQILUPHG NLOOHG LQ DLU VWULNH 86 WASHINGTON The Islamic State group’s finance chief has been confirmed killed in a coalition air strike last month, US officials said on Thursday. Abu Saleh was killed in late November, US military spokesman Colonel Steve Warren said in a videoconference from Baghdad, calling him “one of the most senior and experienced members” of the group’s financial network. The US government’s envoy for the anti-IS fight, Brett McGurk, said on Twitter that Abu Saleh was killed along with two associates “as part of coalition campaign to destroy ISIL’s financial infrastructure,”

describing him as the group’s “finance minister.” Abu Saleh’s real name is Muwaffaq Mustafa Muhammad al-Karmush, described in a State Department terrorist blacklist as a 42-year-old Iraqi. “Killing him and his predecessors exhausts the knowledge and talent needed to coordinate funding within the organization,” Warren said. The military spokesmen said two other figures in IS fundraising networks also were killed in coalition air strikes in late November. They were identified as Abu Mariam, an enforcer and senior leader in IS extortion networks, and Abu Waqman al-Tunis, who Warren said coordinated IS’s

NEW YORK More than a third of Americans want to ban Muslims from entering the United States, a new poll has found. Nearly half of the US nationals surveyed want to keep a database of all Muslims

already in the country, according to the poll by television network CBS news published Friday. The poll follows Republican presidential ticket frontrunner Donald Trump’s suggestion Monday that the US bar Muslims from entry in response to a deadly gun attack in San Bernardino, California that is believed to

have been inspired by the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) armed group. Mr Trump’s comment has prompted outrage from international media and governments but recent polling data shows that more Republicans support the prospective presidential nomineee than ever. American Muslims, meanwhile, have drawn parallels between Mr Trump’s comments and a rising Adolph Hitler. Akbar Ahmed, the chair of Islamic Studies at American University, wrote on Thursday that the US is on “the road to Kristallnacht ... this time with Muslims instead of Jews.” The CBS poll of more than 1,000 Republican, Democratic and independent voters released Friday found that the vast majority of Americans feel Washington “should not ban” Muslims from entering the US. Among Democrats, 73 per cent opposed a ban, compared with 38 per cent of Republicans.

transfer of people, weapons and information. Abu Mariam appears on the State Department terrorist list as Mounir Ben Dhaou Ben Brahim Ben Helal, a 32-year-old Tunisian. The US-led coalition has been targeting IS leaders in Syria and Iraq with air strikes to try to pick apart its command structure. After the attacks in Paris last month, the United States said it is deploying a special operations unit in Iraq that will be able to mount raids into Syria to capture or kill IS leaders. “We want this expeditionary targeting force to make ISIL and its leaders wonder when they go to bed at night, who’s going to be coming

in the window,” US Defense Secretary Ashton Carter told a Senate hearing on Wednesday. In London, the US Treasury’s acting under secretary for terrorism and financial crimes, Adam Szubin, said IS derives most of its funding from economic activity in the territory it controls. It has reaped more than $500 million in black market oil sales, looted bank vaults captured in Iraq and Syria, and raised millions more through

extortion. But to run what amounts to a mini-state, it needs steady and renewable sources of funding, and to do that it needs access to the international financial system to move money and import supplies, according to Szubin. “We are targeting both of these dependencies -- ISIL’s ability to generate revenue, and its ability to use that revenue,” he said in a speech to the Chatham House think tank.

:LIH·V UROH LQ &DOLIRUQLD DWWDFN UDLVHV IHDU RI MLKDG EULGHV LOS ANGELES A Pakistani woman’s role as a shooter in the San Bernardino massacre is raising fears that foreign-born brides who support the Islamic State group could marry Americans to come to the U.S. to carry out extremist missions. Experts in jihad, immigration lawyers and former U.S. diplomats say there’s no sign other foreign brides have sought Western marriages to launch attacks, and it’s still not clear if 29-year-old Tashfeen Malik did so. But, they warn, that could change, especially if IS militants begin actively encouraging women to join men in attacks in the West. While the group currently bars women from taking up arms for combat or other attacks, its commanders are pragmatic and adaptable and could drop their ban at any time, security experts say. “When they see an opportunity to do damage, and the best man for the job is a woman, they will use the woman,” said Sasha

Havlicek, a founder of the British-based Institute for Strategic Dialogue, whose work includes monitoring the flow of female extremist recruits. “We will see women more active

in terror plots,” Havlicek predicted. “We already know they are radicalizing in unprecedented numbers.” The flow of IS supporters can also go the other way. Up to 30 women have left America to try to join the Islamic State group since it rose to prominence, according to a recent estimate from the Department of Homeland Security.

www.asiantribune.ca. Also, follow us on twitter @AsianTribuneEdm

The numbers are higher in Europe, where more than 600 women have left to join extremists over that same period, Havlicek said. A religious conservative who lived previously in Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, Malik joined her American-born husband of less than two years, Syed Farook, on Dec. 2 in donning tactical gear, grabbing assault weapons and slaughtering 14 people at his office holiday party in Southern California. While women previously have served as suicide bombers for violent Islamist groups, experts describe Malik’s role as a breach of current IS limits on the role of women, and the group has been muted in its public responses to the killings. Farook and his family, like many traditional families in South Asia and elsewhere, used regional matchmaking websites to search for a suitable bride, although it’s not clear if that’s how he met Malik.

Tempers run high on juvenile Nirbhaya rapist, Parliament must arrive at a decision With the Supreme Court rejecting the petition by Delhi Commission for Women against the release of the juvenile convict in the Nirbhaya gang-rape case, saying it “shared the concern of general citizens” but its hands were “tied” by the law, the ball is now in Parliament’s court. The apex court has held there has to be a “clear legislative sanction” to extend detention of convicted juveniles beyond three years and the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Bill, 2014, which includes amendments to allow 16-18 years olds to be tried as adults, will be debated in Rajya Sabha today. The Lok Sabha passed it in May 2015. It is now up to the Upper House to take a call. As Trinamool Congress MP Derek O’Brien argued, while asking for parliamentary discussion under Rule 267, the House needs to listen to what is going on outside and to rise above politics. Passions are high over the release of the juvenile convict in the Nirbhaya case. While many hearts have gone out to her mother, this is also a time for measured judgment so legal changes don’t have unintended consequences. At the heart of the new bill is an amendment to create district-wise juvenile justice boards that will determine whether a juvenile offender will be sent for rehabilitation or tried as an adult. Of recorded cognisable crimes in India in 2014, 1.2% were committed by juveniles. While over 70% of juvenile crimes are committed by those in the 16-18 age group, juveniles account for 5.9% of rapes nationwide. Moreover, since 2001juvenile crimes have quadrupled. The best would be if the Rajya Sabha were to pass the amended bill already passed by the Lok Sabha right away. But if opinions are divided on this, another option is to send the bill to a standing committee with a foursix week deadline, to coolly examine all views and then for the House to pass the bill within an agreed deadline. Both the US and UK have given juvenile justice courts the flexibility to waive their jurisdiction in favour of adult courts for heinous crimes. India should do so as well. This piece appeared as an editorial opinion in the print edition of The Times of India.

DON'T BE –YOUR'S DOUBTFULLY

HARLEEN PANDHER

In today's world, what is the thing you get with much effort or difficulty in any human relationship, asked Bikram? Unanimously, all his friends replied… it's TRUST. Ya! So right. It takes ages to build trust in any relationship and takes just few seconds to ruin it. If we talk of new age boy-friend or girl-friend, with just one click on Facebook or Watsapp, they are free from so- called relationship, which starts in few days and ends up in just few hours. Trust or faith are unheard terms for teenager flings, leaving rear couples. Vinita got married to Akhilesh for over a period of four years. When they were newly married, whenever Vinita's phone rang, Akhilesh would be the first one to pick up the phone. There was some kind of curiosity in his eyes as to whose phone call it was? Then, when she used to use Facebook or whatsapp then again he would keep asking about her friends and so on. He was not a jealous person or possessive kind of a person but was 'concerned' about his wife's behavior. Vinita noticed it numerous times but she ignored

the issue. What she could derive from the whole episode was there was lack of complete trust or bit of doubt. The apparent reason was their relationship was quite new as they got married after a brief courtship period. In today's time, we can hardly see any 'serious' relationship and are mostly time pass. So, Vinita thought it could be one of the factor. She didn't give up or became negative about her husband over his behavior. Instead, she understood her husband's psyche and tried to work upon it. What Vinita did, whenever her phone rang, she would pretend that she' busy and would insist her husband to pick up the phone. Then, whenever she would use social networking sites, she would specially ask her husband to sit beside her and see her friends. Then, she would narrate stories of her school time friends and so on. Gradually, she won trust over her husband. Now, when Vinita called him, Akhilesh avoided coming or picking up phone as he was quite satisfied that his wife belongs only to her and has no illogical relation anywhere or with anyone. Both of them never talked openly as to something like this was there between them. After some years of their marriage, one day, Akhilesh(sitting in casual mood) disclosed her, initially he didn't trusted her be-

cause he has seen girls cheating on their husband or boyfriends when they were in college. In the heart of his heart, he was scared. But, now he's fine and has no issues. This is just one instance of husbandwife relationship. In everyday life, we get ample such examples. The biggest example is...SERVANTS. If God forbid, any of our belonging's is lost or misplaced, the first doubt that erupts in our mind or the first name that comes up in our mind is that of our servants( I'm sure servant would have picked it) because they are weak from us financially and status wise. So, we assume they are 'needy' and it's the need which makes them our servant and they are the ones who had picked up the thing. Majority of the time, we are doubtful about them. We hear about rapes with young girls. So, if Radha's daughter is late from college, her mind becomes suspicious as to where is she? Hope she's fine. When Mrs. Sandhya's boy got married she was under stress as to what kind of person her daughter-in-law would be? Will she take good care of us or she'll separate our son from us? On the other hand, daughter-in-laws mother is all the more worried about her daughter's future. What kind of family she's going into? Will her mother-in-law love her or hate her? Then, we doubt every shopkeeper or rehri-wala

that he's charging more from us. These are nothing but hidden doubts on our minds. Almost all of us have these doubts without realizing that we are doing this kind of stuff. The point is why do we doubt? LIFE is moving at the fast pace. We have no time. Hardly, we go into deep introspection of the entire situation. Because of technology, which have made our lives very fast, connectivity has increased. Because of connectivity many positive and negative things are happening at a speed and this is creating doubt in our minds that something might occur between young teenagers. Many girls and boys do indulge in relationships and some even elope if they don't get their family consent. If few couples elope, hidden fear arouse in other parents mind. If few people did something wrong, positive people also suffer. Out of all the relationship's, the husband-wife's relation is very sensitive. It's actually a compilation of numerous relationships. One single doubt can harm many families simultaneously. Sometimes, husband is serious kind and the wife is active and chirpy. Mannat is very luckygo kind of a person and loves to socialize but she has to curb herself because her husband is suspicious of her. He doubts her to the extent that he's always noticing her last visit on watsapp. When Mannat's hus-

band was a child, his mother eloped with her neighbor. So, because of that incident, he's possessive about her and feels if she'll socialize, she might also do something wrong. Somewhere psychological pressure was working on him. Mrinal and Nitish was happily married couple. Nitish was a lawyer and Mrinal was a housewife. Naturally, his was a public dealing job. Especially females would try to get very comfy with him on phone. This thing started creating doubt on Mrinal's mind when one fine day Nitish made her understood that she should be confident about him. Many People are mean and to get their work done can go to any extreme. If we talk of girls, they do it intentionally to get close just to get their work done. So, she should feel easy in her space. Doubt was snubbed in the first place with a lovable attitude which took the shape of a healthy and trusted relationship. In another incident, Daljeet never allows his wife to spend time with his friends or family. Because, he thinks his wife will back-bite about him only as if she has nothing else to discuss. There are weaknesses in his character. He's not a nice person. To hide his drawbacks, he doubts his wife. To make your life comfortable, try to work on your relationship. Put your focus on making your relationship healthy. If some-

It appeared as though the attackers had dragged him there, Knecht said. Police have not released the second victim’s name while they work to track down and inform the man’s family. Sara Chaloux, who said she was a friend of the man, wrote on Facebook the man “only wanted a wife and children here in Canada and he didn’t even get that.” She said she wants to host a celebration of his life in a Catholic

church or at one of his favorite Filipino restaurants. Such random acts of violence are rare in Edmonton, Knecht said. “Two innocent people lost their lives today, and there are families here and overseas that will have their holiday season devastated by this news. We should be outraged as a community,” Knecht said. The victims are Edmonton’s 28th and 29th homicides of 2015. Based on security video footage from the first store, an alert went out to all police describing the suspects and their vehicle — a Honda Element stolen from

Strathcona County. Officers who suspected a pattern checked other city Mac’s stores. At around 5 a.m., two patrol officers spotted three people outside a Mac’s in Callingwood. When police approached, they fled east on Whitemud Drive. The chase ended when the driver of the Element lost control on the freeway, hit a guard rail, and crashed into a barrier under the Terwillegar overpass. Police said three people were arrested without incident, Knecht said. Charges are pending against a 24-year-old man, a 26-year-old man, a 13-year-old boy. All have criminal

records and are prohibited from carrying guns. Homicide investigators have evidence linking the men and boy to both shootings, Knecht said. Charges are pending, he said. Furthermore, evidence suggests the suspects may have been involved in other recent robberies. Their motive was robbery, which baffled Knecht, since business open overnight keep “minimal amounts” of cash in the tills. Knecht mused about whether suspects who commit such violent crimes for petty cash are under the influence of drugs or alcohol. “Sometimes it’s just, it

won’t make any sense. We’re trying to apply logic to highly illogical people,” Knecht said. One of the victims was Karanpal Singh Bhangu, a 35-year-old man who had moved to Edmonton this summer with his son Royce. body says negative comments that arouse doubt in your mind, try to evaluate the words. Apply your brain as to can your partner actually cheat on you? Can he or she do this with you and you'll get the right reply. There are many husband and wives who do cheat on their partners. This is also true. But, all are not the same. Be conscious, be aware as to what is going around you but don't spy on them. Try to win your partner's love by doing small little gestures. Like, Reema flew all the way from Pune just to be with her husband on his birthday. These small little things make the bond stronger. Too much of doubting your better halves, will make the situation worse and frustration will sink in. Love and do things which make others love you. Don't neglect your wife or husband's requirements because that gives a wrong message. As the partners start feeling that there are other things more important than them. Doubt is something which we develop ourselves, when our doings don't match with our sayings. If you are transparent in your activities and clear about your relationship with your spouse or wife, fear of losing someone or doubt will never come up. Interact, spend time with each other then, long-distance relationship or courtship period or years after marriage will turn out be awesome. So, try to be your's faithfully and not your's doubtfully.

My heart aches for the many lives impacted by this tragedy and especially for the families of the two victims,” Birollo said in the statement. Randeep Hooda has been signed on to play the role of Sarabjit in the film. Richa Chadha, who has earlier worked with Randeep Hooda in Main Aur Charles, will also be seen in a pivotal role. /HJHQG Directed by Brian Helgeland Legend Cast: Tom Hardy, Christopher Eccleston, Emily Browning, David Thewlis, Jane Wood Rating: 2 Stars In this “notorious true story of the Kray twins” the gangster brothers who briefly fancied themselves as kings of London in the ’60s the knockout punch isn’t dealt by Tom Hardy raised to the power 2. It is

to break way from the schizophrenic, unstable and dangerous Ronnie. It’s sad that Helgeland, the Oscar award-winning screenwriter of L A Confidential, doesn’t think of making more of the excellent Wood. Instead, it falls on Hardy’s hardy shoulders to convey the ties that bind and will unravel the Kray brothers. It’s a valiant effort no doubt, with Reggie and

the Kray mother (Jane Wood) in her bedraggled nightgown, mousey hair, wrinkled cleavage, and a firm grip passing along cups of tea. Stroking the hair of Ronnie Kray (Hardy), who has just returned after killing someone, she tells twin Reggie (Hardy), sitting some distance away, with a steely smile, “He is your brother.” That one scene establishes why the charismatic, smart and brutal Reggie will never be able

Ronnie two distinct people, even physically. However, but for that one scene with Wood, we have no idea how and where that bond was forged. The only other actor with a role in their lives in the film is Emily Browning, playing Reggie’s wife Frances. As also the narrator of this story, she assumes this air of distance that is in no way justified by her arc in the role. It’s a very unsatisfying performance, with the reasons

for her falling for Reggie clear but her growing disillusionment with him pretty forced. Legend spends an inexplicable amount of time on that relationship, inter-cut by the Krays’ expanding business. Both Reggie’s growing love for Frances and his desire for acceptability as a legitimate businessman don’t go down well with Ronnie, who keeps repeating that all he wants to be is a “genuine gangster”. The time spent on Frances drags Legend down, as does Helgeland’s determination to establish the genuine period nature of his film with his string of lovingly dressed men and women (none better than the hunky Hardy), sitting in clubs with great live music, and gloriously shot violence. The only signs of palpable tension as Reggie and Ronnie move from their second-rung gangster status in East End to the “greener pastures of West London” are, after all, between the brothers themselves. If there are not enough of those scenes, there are even lesser of Ronnie, the man perpetually on the cusp of madness even if it is just revealing his gay status to a stunned Ameri-

can counterpart (Chazz Palminteri), or talking about the Utopian town he

hopes to build in Nigeria. An applause here for the young Taron Egerton too,

as Ronnie’s toy boy who plays no mean role in pushing him to the edge.

You'll need to navigate through what could be a tricky week. Mercury's retrograde phase from Monday could cause delays, which means your best-laid plans could come to nothing. Rather than fret and fume, use this opportunity to research your options a n d g e t m o r e i n f o r m a t i o n . Av o i d manipulative and pushy people on Thursday and Friday.

Money matters could be subject to delays. You may have to roll with the punches, particularly if unexpected expenses show up or a payment doesn't materialize. Even so, this might set you thinking about ways to improve matters and get your money working harder for you. On Thursday a rather intense influence might mean you see a side of someone you've never noticed before.

Restlessness and a desire to flee the real world may be stirring within you. Yet, because of Mercury's retrograde phase starting Monday, quick decisions could likely cause trouble. If in doubt, a chat with a good friend can help you make the best choice. Some people may seem more aloof or distant than usual. Try not to take this personally, as it could be a different matter in a few days.

News may arrive out of the blue involving a friend or relative who needs your help and support. A focus on your spiritual sector suggests you may be called upon to sacrifice time and energy in order to boost another's spirits. There could be further obstacles to overcome on Thursday and Friday this week. A patient approach can help you avoid strain and struggle.

The relationship planets are mainly feisty but fun, encouraging you to relax in good company. But Saturn's presence in your pleasure and romance sector suggests a tendency to conserve your time and energy. This is just as well, as Mercury enters its retrograde phase on Monday, which could coincide with a lull in your social life.

Regarding goals and personal a m b i t i o n s , Mercury's retrograde phase, along with other stubborn influences, suggests progress could come to a halt. However, this can bring just the chance you need to rethink your plans. Such delays can expose weaknesses that might not otherwise show up. Regarding romance, someone with a jealous streak could try to jeopardize a new relationship.

If you can iron out a family disagreement or handle a difference of opinion, then the week ahead has much to offer. There may be one or two issues to circumnavigate, and these are likely to involve other people's stubborn mindset. There will be more than enough to keep you happily occupied once the Sun dances into Gemini on Thursday.

Don't let anyone rush you into making a decision or commitment before you're ready. As Mercury turns retrograde it's essential to read the fine print of a contract or legal document before you sign. Someone may be feeling extra sensitive, making you feel like you're walking on eggshells. In this situation it pays to be honest rather than tolerate someone.

Cultivating a taste for the novel or exotic in people and ideas can open you up to wonderful new experiences. Explore opportunities that can help further your interests and expand your horizons. Mercury turns retrograde on Monday, for about three weeks, leading to delays and mixed messages. Think twice before signing important documents.

With wit, charm, and a cheerful outlook you somehow manage to say the most difficult things and get away with it. With Ve n u s h a p p i l y e n s c o n c e d i n y o u r relationship sector, it's a good time to convince someone that you're the right candidate for a job or new relationship. However, it might not be all clear sailing this week.

A surprise may be in store this week and it could be due to Mercury's retrograde influence. There's a chance you'll bump into someone you once knew or hear from an old college or work pal. It might also be wise to check on those you haven't seen in a while and offer support should they need it. Romantic opportunities seem plentiful.

Someone may share a secret that alters how you view a situation. In this instance it affects you in a good way. As Mercury turns retrograde from Monday, for about three weeks, expect disruptions and delays at home. A guest may cancel or a party may not proceed as planned. You might have to contend with obstacles.

The system described in the journal Science is a computer model “that captures humans’ unique ability to learn new concepts from a single example,â€? the study said. “Though the model is only capable of learning handwritten characters from alphabets, the approach underlying it could be broadened to have applications for other symbol-based systems, like gestures, dance moves, and the words of spoken and signed languages.â€? Joshua Tenenbaum, a professor at the Massachusetts Institute for Technology (MIT), said he wanted to build a machine that could mimic the mental abilities of young children. “Before they get to kindergarten, children learn to recognize new concepts from just a single example, and can even imagine new examples they haven’t seen,â€? said Tenenbaum. “We are still far from building machines as smart as a human child, but this is the first time we have had a machine able to learn and use a large class of real-world concepts even simple visual concepts

Steep hike in H1B visa fee as Obama signs Omnibus spending bill into law

NEW YORK In what comes as a shock for the Indian IT companies, US President Barack Obama on Saturday signed Omnibus spending bill into a USD 1.8 trillion spending package. Among other things, the bill introduces a hefty USD 4,000 fee for certain categories of H-1B visa and USD 4,500 for L1 visa.IT companies will now have to pay millions of dollars while applying for H-1B visas, as they heavily rely on this work visa for highly skilled IT workers to get their work done in the US.Terming the law as highly discriminatory and punitive, the companies claim that text of the legislation has been written in such a way that such a high fee would have to be paid by only major Indian IT companies. Companies that have 50 employees and have more than 50 per cent of their US employees on H-1B and L1 visas would have to pay the new fee when the next visa application session kicks off on April 1, 2016.This year’s Congressional approved quota of 65,000 H-1B visas was filled up in first few days of the start of the application process on April 1. In fact the US government had to resort to a computerized draw of lots as it received more than quota. The Consolidated Appropriations Act 2016 signed into law by Obama, includes a USD 1.1 trillion omnibus spending bill that funds the government until September 30, 2016, as well as a USD 680 billion tax package. Not to mention that the new law makes US aid to Pakistan more stringent by asking the secretaries of state and defense to certify that Islamabad is taking actions against terrorist networks and meeting other conditions. But the provision of a national interest waiver nullifies such conditionalities. The law also paves the way for the implementation of the long pending IMF Quota and Governance Reforms. Approved and passed by the IMF in 201O, it could not be implemented because the Congress had not passed it.

Saudi millionaire cleared of rape after he ‘accidentally tripped and penetrated’ the woman

In a shocking and one of a kind judgment, a 46-year-old millionaire property developer has been cleared of raping a teenager after claiming he a c c i d e n t a l l y penetrated the 18year-old after he tripped and fell on her. The girl accused Ehsan Abdulaziz of forcing himself on her while she was sleeping on the sofa in his Maida Vale flat. She had met Abdulaziz in a fancy nightclub in August 2014 where she was with a friend who was an acquaintance of the business man. He invited the two girls to join him at this £1,000-per-night table and offered them a ride home in his Aston Martin, the Southwark Crown Court heard. At his house, he offered some alcohol to the women and then took the second woman into the bedroom for sex. The teenager claimed she woke up when she realized Abdulaziz was forcing himself on her. But, Abdulaziz said he accidentally fell on the younger woman when she tried seducing him and he had just gone to offer her a T-shirt to sleep in or a taxi ride home. The jury acquitted him in just 30 minutes of deliberations despite his semen and DNA being found inside the teenager’s body. The millionaire is said to have given his evidence in private by showing how the girl had put her hand behind his head to pull him towards her, because of which he fell.
