"You're not a Cadillac just because you're in a garage." This idea had been floating around in my mind for a long time, hitting the corners of everyday life until it became an absolute certainty that bounced back and forth in my head, clanging ("clonc-clonc")Â in the empty space where my military spirit had previously dwelt. It happened during the night of duty in a small, poorly lit room, where there were two rugged office chairs plus a lame table that served as both a desk and a dining table. (Mela Corral, 2020, see Fig. 2) At that time, I realized that I'd moved too many times, too many rooms like that, too many shared rooms in barracks, sad and dreary rented apartments.
I made the choice to become an interior designer there. I wanted to live differently, but I also wanted to help others live and work in more comfortable places. I was thinking about all this while I was scribbling on a scrap of paper. I love to draw, even though I'm not a good drawer. I liked it since I was a little girl, and to the desperation of my parents, who had to hide all the objects that were able to leave a line drawn on the surface. I used to paint walls, books, doors, furniture, dolls, etc. My mother bought me an adhesive board and a marker (the famous Velleda) -"Look, you draw here on the white part, and then you erase with your hand. It's like magic!" -"Yes, Mommy. "
That was great, and I even worked for a day or two, but since my incurable humanism continuously pushes me to investigate, I decided to think outside the box, expand the boundaries of art, and try out markers on other surfaces. The world is too wide to be reduced to a half square meter board.
Unfortunately, there are no records of my artistic abilities from childhood, although this “Monty Python’s Life of Brian" frame is very descriptive of what any visitor could see on the walls of my home. Fig 3. Monty Python, (1979) Life of Brian� [film]

procedures that would follow me as an interior designer all my career. Drawing, generating ideas, researching relevant designers (Mela Corral, 2020 see fig 8) learning the history of design and the intimate relationship of all the arts. I also had to find furniture for my assignments, or create custom furniture, as in the case of assignments 6 and 9. (Mela Corral, 2019 see Fig. 6&7) To gather information and samples of fabrics and products, I also contacted companies and specialists. I have learned to use the essential tools of AutoCAD and also have made progress in 3D design and rendering using SketchUp

and V-Ray. (Mela Corral, 2019 see Fig. 6&7) I have learned how important it is to have access to a library of materials so that s possible seeing and touching samples. I've also been developing my own

image and style of the brand. For some tasks, I had to attach budgets, write specifications, create FF&E tables, and even design objects. After these experiences,53though brief, I can give my own opinion and

judgment about those parts of the work as a designer that I enjoy the most, and also about those that I find the most heavy.

(Mela Corral, 2020, see Fig. 16). I also found that my friends and social networking contacts like them, and I got very positive feedback. In addition, I opened a vote in IG on assignments 16 and 17 to decide which brand I will use in my design development (it was a close one, but BMW won). (Mela Corral, 2020, See Fig. 19) I also like drawing with AutoCAD, (Mela Corral, 2019, See Fig. 17) though maybe when I learn to master design in 3DS MAX or Revit I will enjoy it more, since I will also optimize the workflow. I’m aware of the effect that the experience that I have gained has on me when, for example, I watch television with my family and I recognise furniture pieces, decorative items, lamps, finishes ... If we go out for a walk, I enter the shops and restaurants just to see the decoration, lighting or arrangement of the elements in the place. And while I have not yet decided precisely which division of interior design I would like to work in and my tastes lean towards the artistic independence of commercial interior design, it is likely that residential interior design would undergo a new revolution in the renovation of spaces. Such weeks of confinement, enforced to isolate us from a catastrophe such as a pandemic, should serve as a reflection for architects and interior designers about the need to rethink the definition of urban housing and the model of the development of the communities in which we live, which has been little revised since the middle of the last century (Getty Images, 2020 see Fig 20). Today, more now than ever, the need to find shelter in your home and the psychological influence of light, colour and the arrangement of space on our mindset is becoming evident. Undoubtedly, the psychological component of interior design will become even more important in the near future and, as designers, we need to hold this in sight and apply it to the new requirements of a market that faces an uncertain path today. I also believe that acquiring UX/UI design knowledge may be convenient, due to the great impulse that the digitalization of the working environment is going to receive from the full implementation of 5G and the new horizons in the field of design and creation.
