Lieutenant Governor Report Hello Division 15, My name is Melika Behrooz, and for those of you who haven’t met me yet, I am the lieutenant governor of division 15 for the 2012-2013 service year. Currently I am a junior at McNair Academic High School, and I’ve been a member of Key Club for 2 years. Key Club has become more than an outlet by which to accomplish community service, it has become my way of life. After being elected to Lieutenant Governor a few months ago, I’ve been enlightened to how big of an organization Key Club is. With 33 districts worldwide, Key Club is accomplishing some amazing feats. In the New Jersey District alone we raised $97,000 for the Eliminate project, far surpassing our goal of $79,000. I hope that in the coming service year I can strengthen our division so we can raise record amounts of money for Eliminate. In the process I’m looking forward to getting to know all of you so we can have a lot of fun while doing some serious service! Sincerely,

DCON 2012 From March 30-April 1, 2012, Key Clubbers from all over the NJ District attended the 66th annual District Convention at Ocean Place Resort in Long Branch New Jersey. Attendees learned about how to build their clubs and improve their leadership. Many were also awarded for their accomplishments from throughout the service year. Events also included a Talent Show, Neon Dance, and the Governor’s Ball. At the Ball KeyClubbers bid to dance with the board, with proceeds going to Eliminate. County Prep’s Parth Majmundar won a dance with Immediate Past Secretary Kimberly Lu! We even enjoyed a speech by our Keynote speaker, Past Kiwanis International President Bo Shafer (It’s Bo Time!). Not to mention Immediate Past Editor Andre Rosario getting a hair-cut onstage!
DCON 2012 Our Immediate Past Lieutenant Governor was Distinguished for her efforts throughout the year. She also won the Silver Single Service and Achievement Award. Congratulations Ashley Joseph! Many of the officers from our division were also recognized and distinguished. Congratulations to all of you as well, and thank you for working hard for our division! Thanks to Key Clubbers from McNair, Dickinson, and County Prep for coming. Also thank you to the County Prep Advisor Mr. Greco who also attended! This service year, I hope we can increase attendance to DCON so we can really represent our division in a sea of over 600 voices!

Reminder to all Key Clubs to get their elections done. Once you have elected new officers, I will visit your schools and train you exclusively through an Officer Training Conference (OTC). Also when you have your new officers, send their email addresses to melikabltgdiv15@gmail.com, and I will send them my letter of introduction as well as an online survey that will serve as our divisional roster. If you find that it would be easier to send me your rosters on one file, please do so. The 2012 Key Club International Convention will take place July 4-8 in Orlando, Florida at the Hilton Orlando Lake Buena Vista. Yes, Disney World!
