Lieutenant Governor Report Hello Division 15, It’s been an amazing start to the service year! I have had the joy of serving you for only a month and already its become the highlight of my day. I’ve had the privilege of meeting many of you, and reporting on our division in the first official board meeting. Though the school year is coming to a close, the service year has only just begun! Before you say goodbye to your members for the summer, plan some events or meetings with your officers in July or August. As always, if you invite me I will try to attend! Just recently I went to Union City’s Key Club Birthday and had a couple of club visits. In the coming months, I hope to finish all of my training, have met all of you, and visited all of your clubs. Then at the dance we will have our very first PCM. I hope to see you all very soon! Sincerely,
LTG Div 14 Bria Metivier and me at the first official board meeting.

ADVOCACY By Eric Smuda LTG Div 21
Advocacy is speaking on behalf of those who cannot speak for themselves. This year’s advocacy focus will focus on the areas of self-image, anti-bullying and suicide prevention in order to make a difference in these areas.
Why? 30% of teenagers have an eating disorder and 58% have tried to change their body. 90% of kids have been bullied and in 85% of these cases no one intervened. Bullying includes physical, cyber and verbal attacks and social alienation. Over one million teens die of suicide a year; that’s one person every 40 seconds. 20% of teens have considered suicide while 14% have planned a suicide. Suicide is the third leading cause of death.
The Two Advocacy Seasons. Season one started in May will end at Fall Rally. Focus on self/body image. Season two starts at Fall Rally and ends at DCON. Focus on anti-bullying and suicide prevention.
How are we going to change this?
SAIL Support. Awareness. Inspire. Lead. Together, through two advocacy seasons we are going to help end these problems. The first step is to support those who you see suffering and be there for them. Second, raise awareness by educating your school and community about these problems and statistics through assemblies and days of silence. Inspire others through your actions and the stories of those who have been bullied, suffered from eating disorders or committed suicide. Lead the way and take the initiative to help save lives and make a difference.

Mother’s Day Cupcakes for Eliminate
Thank you to everyone who participated in this event! For such a short amount of time, and only a few clubs participating, I’m happy to report that we did better than expected! After selling these vouchers for mothers day in McNair, Dickinson, and Union City, I paid Sophie Sophia’s for the vouchers that were claimed. In the end, Division 15 was left with $122 as profit! This money will be donated to The Eliminate Project, where it will be able to help buy more than 60 vaccines that could save over 60 lives. Thank you for helping make a difference.
The next event in our Division will be the Eliminate Dance. This year, it is beach-party themed to kickoff the Summer season. It is being held at a spectacular new location, Michael Anthony’s Waterfront Restaurant. With yachts and boats surrounding the restaurant, and New York City in the background, its sure to be a beautiful night. Please publicize this event in your clubs, and set an example as an officer and attend it yourself! More information can be found on the official flyer on the next page. Our goal for the event is to raise $750 dollars. So Dance to Eliminate !
