Lieutenant Governor Report Hi Division 15, I can’t believe the Eliminate Games are already over, and we are just a couple weeks away from District Convention! I’d first like to thank our tribute, Omer for representing our division and I’d like to thank all of you clubs for supporting him by donating a grand total of $150 to the Eliminate Project. We’re going to end it all by celebrating a Roaring Year of Service at District Convention. For those of you that are going, I have included some articles about convention, graciously provided by LTG Kelly Tran. Since some of us can’t make it to convention, we are still going to have one last celebration at Boca Grande in downtown Jersey City, on Sunday March 24th. I can’t wait to make our year in review Newsletter and send it to you all prior to convention. Until then, I will see you at our Divisional Dinner! Sincerely,

Melika Behrooz LTG Mo, LTG Elect Hamiyyet, and me at Midwinter !

DISTRICT WIDE ELIMINATE GAMES On March 16th, Key Clubbers from all over the state headed to Piscataway High School for the District Wide Eliminate Games. Tributes from each division had been chosen, and by the end of the night only one of them would be standing as victor. Our tribute, Omer Tahir from McNair Key Club became a favorite in the games as he went all the way to the second to last round. He tossed paper towel rolls

through hoops, knocked over cans with yo -yo’s, stacked cans with spaghetti, and went on a magic carpet ride. He was cheered on by officers from McNair Academic. In the end with all of our donations and pledges we contributed $150 to the Eliminate Project from our division. Huge thanks to Omer for representing us so well, and thank you McNair for being the only club in attendance!

Congratulations to the overall winner, Jessica from division 1B !

DCON WORKSHOPS BY LTG KELLY TRAN

Every Saturday morning at District Convention, a variety of workshops are conducted to help enrich the minds and abilities of Key Club members and officers throughout the district. You can learn anything and everything from how to be an outstanding president to how to dance like a true 1920s flapper. The workshops at DCON also include an intro to Circle K, college, and financial aid for interested members. There are three work-shop sessions, however, there has been a change in how Session 3 will be managed:  Sessions 1 and 2 will retain the typical work-shop format, with some workshops being combined (for example, Meeting Management is the Public Speaking workshop along with Breaking the Ice and Moving Your Meetings)  Session 3 will be a general ―divisional forum‖ for your di-vision to meet with your current and future lieutenant governor, as well as meet neighboring divisions. Come prepared with an eager mind to absorb as much knowledge as possible and bring it back to your clubs. It is recommended that for clubs with many members attending, to split up and attend several different workshops as opposed to just one. This way, you can bring as much information as possible back to your home clubs after DCON, and use your newfound knowledge to help guide you all for the next service year!

DCON Talent Show By Joe Toumanios

The 67 Annual New Jersey District Convention is coming up, which means you have a chance to show off your amazing hobbies, talents, or skills! Anyone and everyone can audition! There are a few rules while performing: 1. No act may exceed 6 minutes. 2. You MUST provide your own resources, e.g. CDs, props, iPods, instruments, juggling equipment, cannonballs, etc. 3. Any singing routines must have their song without the lyrics on CD (unless you are playing an instrument as well), but must have a copy of the lyrics for the judges. 4. All ask must be appropriate, not offensive, illicit, etc. th

Any talents are encouraged to audition, not just singers/dancers/ instrumentalists!" If you have a crazy talent, come show it off! Fame has to start somewhere! If you have any questions, please contact Joseph Toumanios at TreasurerToumanios@gmail.com.

Sergeant at Arms DCON Dress Code Hey Key Clubbers! For DCON, during the sessions, workshops and meals, all attendees must be dressed in business attire. For girls, skirts/ dress must be at least finger tipped length, a dress shirt, no flip flops, no low cut shirts, no shorts, no see through anything, for example lace shirts. We recommended not to wear heels, you will be walking around a lot. For boys, they must wear slacks, a dress shirt, dress shoes, and a tie. Like last year we will be having our tie sale. Business colors usually consist of black and white, if you really want to go all out. If you are caught breaking the dress code, you will be asked to return to your room and change. But fear not, there will be times when you can wear casual attire.

Curfew All attendees must fallow the schedule given to them when they arrive. This includes attending all sessions, some workshops, and being back in their room by 12 am! The sergeant at arms committee will be checking all rooms. If any of the rules are broken your parents will be contacted and you will be sent home.
