Ar t Director/Architecture Student/Creative

A B OU T As a creative person I have a curious zest for life, finding myself immersed within many creative fields. Whilst studying architecture I work as an Art Director mainly within the fashion industry. I feel that art is very much a daily necessity for me and it is the driving front of my business and blog, Majestigal. Majestigal is a creative platform aimed to inspire the modern woman to be artistic, creative and unique. Ultimately, I aim to inspire others using the internet as my tool. Studying Architecture, has opened my eyes to the built environment around me, helping me to solve problems I wouldn’t otherwise get to solve.

My current work placement with AVR London is a 6 month placement I undertake as part of my degree. Working at AVR has helped me learn about architectural illustration and visualisation in depth. I have been able to learn about rendering software, time management and image making.

C ONCEPT This editorial photographed, styled and edited by myself aims to question g e n d e r e q u a l i t y i n o u r S o c i e t y t o d a y. T h e feminine palette of pastels mixed with motifs of the minimal architecture shows the juxtaposition within gender based fashion. I pur posefully styled Sam (my f r iend) in my ow n clothes to show men, as well as, women that fashion can be gender neutral. Why is it that women have to wear cer tain clothes, why cant men wear those clothes too?

I was asked to design an infant school for children ages 4-7. The school must be able to accommodate years Reception to Year 2. I wanted my desig n to ac t as a nur tur ing and stimulating env ironment to study in. An env ironment that e vokes creativ ity and a w illing ness to lear n. The psycholog y ass ociated w ith children’s lear ning env ironment par ticularly interested me. I res earched into thi s initially and found there i s a lot of s cientif ic e v idence to suppor t that children, lear n best in a nature bas ed env ironment. Thi s for med the hear t of my projec t.

I have always loved painting. As a young child I always remember spilling oil paint all over myself, ruining my clothes! Regardless of the mistakes I made, I still continued to paint. It forms a part of me, I need it to stay balanced. Using these skills, you can apply them to the digital art field. As part of my Architecture degree, knowing how to depict my project in images is essential. These series of images are both from my degree and images I have done in my spare time.
