The 2015 Education Excellence Expo Steering Committee wishes to thank the following: Mr. Bryan Meyers, Community Manager for the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community for his stewardship throughout this process. President Delbert Ray, Sr., Vice-President Martin Harvier, and the members of the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Council for their generous support. Salt River Fields at Talking Stick staff and vendors for patient support and assistance. Special thanks and appreciation to the SOSAz board for entrusting our committee with bringing into action the organizational vision and mission. Thank you to the generous support of business champions for supporting this year's Student Showcases. Thank you to the elected leaders who chose to make time to tour just a sampling of the remarkable programs available for Arizona's students in our public district schools. To our education advocacy partners, thank you for continuing to celebrate, champion, and stand up for our students and teachers. Last but certainly not least, thank you to the program facilitators, educator teams, schools and districts that sent a Student Showcase, as well as the parents, students, teachers, and bus drivers for selflessly stepping up to do "one more thing" to represent and demonstrate why our public district schools are an optimal school choice.
Letter from our Executive Director Welcome! The 2015 Education Excllence Expo is an opportunity for Arizona’s district public schools to showcase both the quality and variety of outstanding programs that students experience on a daily basis. We celebrate the effort, dedication and enthusiasm demonstrated by our wonderful professional educators and amazing students! Thank you for sharing this experience with Support Our SchoolsAz and for supporting the efforts of your neighborhood school and schools across Arizona! Your engagement and encouragement are critical in helping build sound public education policy in Arizona. Support Our Schools Az (SOSAz) believes that public district schools are an optimal choice for Arizona students. This Education Excellence Expo is intended to provide you with experiences that allow you to learn more about the quality programs and educators serving our students and families. By interacting with students, visiting the student showcases and partner patios and meeting with state-level policymakers you will broaden your awareness of the great work being done to prepare our students for the choices and challenges of the future. Feel free to ask lots of questions! Ask students what they like most about their school. How is school preparing them for the future? What do they wish they had more of? What challenges do they face? How can the community support them? Ask educators and policymakers questions as well.
What can all of us do to support a world-class education for all Arizona children? After the Education Excellence Expo, we hope that you find ways to become involved in supporting public district schools. SOSAz is a credible resource for accurate information on public education issues. We believe that when we are all involved, we can collaboratively do what’s right for the children of Arizona. Please visit our website www.SupportOurSchoolsAz.org Follow us on Facebook sosarizona and Twitter - @sosarizona. Share the good news you observed at the Expo with your friends and family. Connect with your local district. Actively participate in opportunities to provide feedback on local decisions, as well as state issues. Please vote! Your voice is important in helping Arizona formulate solutions to the challenges we face. The students of Arizona are depending on you! Thank you for supporting Arizona’s public district schools and the students they serve! Your support, your voice and your involvement is invaluable. Jennifer Johnson, Ed.D. Executive Director SOSAz

From the 2015 e3 Event Chair: Welcome to the 2015 Education Excellence Expo at Salt River Fields!
This year's Education Excellence Expo is the second statewide effort lead by Support Our Schools Az, an organization with a vision, mission, and leadership team that have been near and dear to my heart since my journey as a parent with children in a public district school began in 2009. As the 2015 Education Excellence Expo chair, I have had the extraordinary honor to work with some of Arizona's most dedicated supporters of public education. They have selflessly dedicated their time and expertise. As a parent, I find their passion, dedication, and commitment to our state's students, teachers, and quality academic programs to be an incredible inspiration. As the chair of this year's event, I am profoundly grateful to have worked with such an incredibly talented team. Our team committed countless hours to a continuation of SOSAz's vision and mission to pull together a statewide public celebration that showcases our students, their teachers, and the best of what our public district schools have to offer.

This year, we also set out to make intentional connections between the community and the critical pillars holding together the pathway for shared success: Our elected leaders, businesses, and our public district schools. Leaders from each of these three areas in our community are invaluable to the overall success of our students, as well as our local and state economy. The connections between our community and this trio of partners has never been more important than it is right now. We know the rhetoric. We know the challenges ahead. Today, we celebrate. We celebrate the programs that keep over 81% of our families consistently choosing public district schools for their children. We celebrate the imagination, the dedication, the innovation happening today, right now, in countless classrooms all over the state, and the everyday heroes, our teachers, our site leadership teams, who are bridging the incredible gap between what they need and what they have to ensure the tools for success are available for our students. Today we celebrate. Tomorrow we advocate. Sincerely, Jen Darland Chair, 2015 Education Excellence Expo
