2
SET THE EXAMPLE OF ACCEPTANCE
3
PROVIDE OPPORTUNITIES FOR INTERACTION WITH KIDS THAT HAVE SPECIAL NEEDS
Every child is so much more than his or her physical, mental, or emotional ability. See them for their interests, their talents and their desire to be included.
Take advantage of day-to-day opportunities to talk with your child about those different from them, read books that include characters with different abilities, and model kindness to those around you in your daily interactions.
Connect with families in your community, neighborhood or school. If you meet the parent(s) of a child with special needs, ask if he or she might like to play with your son or daughter.
