A WORD FROM YOUR GENERAL MANAGER Dear Members, I would like to start by thanking all of you for your unending support of the Club during the COVID-19 pandemic. As a team we appreciate your patience and understanding as new policies and operations have been set in place to ensure a safer environment for both the membership and staff. We have had to adapt in ways we could have never imagined to ensure you are able to enjoy the Club while following state, county and city guidelines and restrictions. These past few months have provided us with a tremendous opportunity to learn about what our members truly value during this unprecedented time. As many of you are aware, Baltimore City has been far more restrictive than Baltimore County regarding rules, guidelines and capacity limits during the pandemic. With this in mind, we felt a less traditional approach when planning for the busy fall and winter seasons at BCC was in order. Baltimore Country Club has the opportunity to take advantage of the fact that we are a dual campus Club and are able to optimize our ability to hold events amid the unforeseen circumstances of COVID-19. For the remainder of the fiscal year, we will continue dining operations at Five Farms and open Roland Park only to accommodate our winter sports and busy months of November and December. While this is not ideal, it allows us to use the entire Roland Park clubhouse to spread out and protect the beautiful and busy holiday season that is paramount to the BCC experience and our sense of normalcy. We have all adapted to the changes required as a result of COVID-19 and we must continue to do so. Hosting our holiday events at Roland Park may operate and feel differently; however, our team has created a way to host these events safely and, in a manner, consistent with your expectations. We are excited to be sharing more about our initiatives in the coming pages. I am proud of BCC's ability to thrive because of our strong and resilient membership. We have not stopped welcoming new members into the Club and continue to grow a robust pipeline of prospective members. There is no better time than the present to be or become a member of BCC. BCC continues to be on top of evolving mandates, excels with new programs and offerings, and continues to innovate and prepare for the future despite the challenging environment. We hope that you share our incredible BCC Community with friends and exactly what it means to be a member at one of the best clubs in the country. Most importantly, I would like to thank the BCC team for their efforts and countless hours of work to help us navigate through everchanging circumstances. All are incredible, gifted and creative people. Kindly I ask all of you to recognize the role each staff member has played in making this summer our best yet, by simply saying “thank you”. The abundance of positive feedback we have received from the membership is encouraging and means more than you know. On behalf of the entire staff, we genuinely appreciate your gratitude and understanding. ◆ Sincerely and respectfully.

BCC presents our
FREEDOM BOAT CLUB PARTNERSHIP
ABOUT FREEDOM BOAT CLUB Freedom Boat Club was first founded in 1989 in Sarasota, FL It is the oldest and largest boat club in the nation. The vision and purpose in establishing the boat club model was simple and straightforward…to provide an affordable option to boat ownership and to deliver a hassle-free recreational boating experience for its members. Today, 20,000+ boaters call Freedom Boat Club “home,” with 200+ locations in 31+ states and Canada with franchise operations situated coast-to-coast and growing daily. Freedom Boat Club (FBC) welcomes and embraces a broad mix of members to its ranks, from first-time boaters and newbies to seasoned salts and former boat owners, from young families to active retired. Anyone who loves the water and water-related activities is embraced as a member of Freedom Boat Club! Freedom Boat Clubs all operate with a 1x entry fee and monthly dues. FBC members have unlimited access to the club fleet, but do not own them and never incur any service or storage fees. Reservations are made through a proprietary online system. Unlike other club organizations, Freedom Boat Club rotates new boats into the system regularly, while moving them out of inventory after three years of usage. 4
Fall/Winter 2020 - Special Edition
Members who join Freedom Boat Club on a year-round basis enjoy reciprocal access and can boat anywhere Freedom Boat Clubs are located. This is one of the most valued features of membership in Freedom Boat Club. Freedom Boat Club also provides free on-water and classroom boat training for every new member, taught on a 1:1 basis by Coast Guard licensed instructors. The instructors know the local waterways and are well trained to assist newcomers to boating as well as seasoned skippers alike. One of the best aspects of private boat club membership in Freedom Boat Club is the fun membership socials. This can include everything from dock parties to dinners, party boat cruises aboard local charters, local parades, and more! Some of our clubs also host fishing seminars in partnership with West Marine or other local fishing experts. Through these regularly scheduled activities, lifelong friendships are forged among boaters who share the same passion and waterborne DNA!

À LA CARTE DINING
Back to Our Roots
BCC's COVID-19 response strategy has driven our team to be innovative in how we communicate and operate. As you may have noticed, our traditional À la Carte menu has been reduced from more than 40+ items to about half of that. Capitalizing on signature items to meet the demands of our members while elevating the quality and presentations has been a fun and challenging task for our Culinary and the Food & Beverage teams. This initiative has provided opportunities to put best practices in place while decreasing ticket times and focusing on consistency. Limiting our regular menu has also provided an opportunity to elevate our daily specials. Our specials reflect the best quality of what is locally available. ◆
Locally Sourced PRODUCE
WESTMINSTER, CARROLL COUNTY, MD Deep Run Pawpaw Orchards Figs, Pawpaw, Persimmons
Below are a few specials that not only provide menu diversity, but also focus on going “back to our roots” in using local, simple, and fresh ingredients: Rockfish Imperial
Seared Wild Rockfish, Maryland Jumbo Lump Crab, Roasted Asparagus, Thyme Brown Butter, Fresh Breadcrumbs, Imperial Sauce, Piment d'Espelette Straight forward classic that highlights Chesapeake staples.
Pan Seared Scallop with Pancetta Crust
COCKEYSVILLE, BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD Misty Valley Farms Bibb Lettuce, Micro Greens, Baby Basil, Cilantro, Sweet Pea Tendril
Pan Seared & Pancetta Crusted Scallop, Red Quinoa with BCC Apples, Carrot Purée, Fig Balsamic Glaze, Fresh Figs The perfect blend of fresh, end-ofsummer fruit. We used fresh figs to present them in their true form. We also made a light purée and blended it with a housemade balsamic reduction to use as a sauce for the plate. Our BCC apples reinforce the sweetness.
Bibb Lettuce Salad
HAMPSTEAD, CARROLL COUNTY, MD Five Cedar Farms Seasonal Fruit
Butter Bibb Wedge Salad, Hydroponic Whole Head Lettuce, Roquefort Cream, House Bacon Lardons, BCC Tomato, Maryland Corn, Crispy Onions, Extra Virgin Olive Oil Beautiful and delicate hydroponic lettuce is grown with no soil by Five Cedars Farms. This yields a very clean lettuce that only needs to be rinsed before use. It is shipped to us with the roots still attached so they are still growing in our walk-in fridge! We took a traditional flavor profile on this dish but lightened it up to highlight the lettuce. 7

BCC POLICY UPDATES During the COVID-19 crisis, the Club implemented more lenient Electronic Device and Dress Code Policies. These policy changes were made to temporarily alleviate some of our more restrictive guidelines during an already stressful time. The updated policies permitted texting and the wearing of blue denim. Clear parameters were also put in place to protect BCC traditions and the member experience.
The Club researched the Electronic Device and Dress Policies of 22 peer clubs which included some of the nation’s top private clubs. We also observed our BCC members and how they adapted to the less restrictive policies. After reviewing this research, the Board of Governors has decided to make these changes permanent. ◆
As we continue to navigate the COVID-19 crisis, one thing remains abundantly clear, the Club must adapt to meet the growing and changing needs of our membership. We recognize that with such a broad and diverse membership, any change to these policies will not appeal to everyone.
ELECTRONIC DEVICE POLICY UPDATES • All usage of Electronic Devices must be brief, discreet, and respectful and not impede the enjoyment of the Club by other members • Non-verbal usage only. No active phone calls EXCEPT in personal vehicles, locker rooms, or bathrooms • Texting is permitted throughout the entire Club • When not in use, your Electronic Device must not be visible
GUIDE TO WEARING DENIM AT BCC • Neatly tailored blue denim jeans with finished hems are acceptable for gentlemen and women at both clubhouses. Denim must have no rips, tears or frays; nor should it be worn, faded, or similar in styling to “acid washed" • It is recommended that gentlemen wearing denim also wear a blazer or sport coat • Denim dresses, denim skirts, denim shorts, denim jackets are not permitted • Denim is not permitted while participating in any sport or during holiday events unless expressly stated 12

Making BCC a Safer Place
In addition to a robust cleaning schedule, BCC employs various methods to make our facilities safer for members. UV Lights A few years ago, BCC installed UV lights in the ductwork of the Roland Park Fitness Center. UV lights are used in hospital HVAC ductworks to kill various viruses and bacteria. Our Facilities & Engineering Team is now in the process of installing UV lights in both the Five Farms clubhouse and Fitness Center ductwork this year. BCC also has the Five Farms kitchen sanitized biweekly with a UV light robot to eliminate harmful pathogens that linger on surfaces after manual cleaning. The robot deactivates 95% of C. diff spores, 99.99% of MRSA, and 100% of VRE. The UVC light from the robot has been proven to be effective against coronavirus as well.
Pure Eco Solutions
Pure Eco Solutions spraying the playground at our Pool Complex
Pure Eco Solutions provides EPA/NSF hospital grade electrostatic disinfection for Five Farms Child's World
BCC contracts Pure Eco Solutions to spray high touch points throughout our facilities with a sanitizing disinfectant surface protectant that provides protection for up to 90 days. The disinfectant spreads and penetrates hard and porous surfaces and has been shown to kill more than 30 organisms including MRSA, H1N1, and coronavirus strains. It is non-irritating to the skin and non-corrosive to surfaces. Pure Eco Solutions sanitizes our facilities every two weeks.
UV Ionic Air Puifiers BCC purchased UV Ionic air purifiers that have been placed throughout our facilities. These purifiers reduce unwanted contaminants using AHPCO® and Bi-Polar® ionization technologies to break down pollutants on a molecular level and is proven to eliminate allergens, pollutants, bacteria, and viruses. ◆

FROM THE DIRECTOR OF EVENTS Dear Members, 2020 sure has turned out to be an interesting year to say the least! So first, thank you for being patient and understanding as we navigated uncharted waters and adjusted to the ever-changing environment. As we worked to provide as much normalcy as possible to all our lives, your words of encouragement and gratitude meant so much. And though the fall and winter will continue to be different than years past, we have a calendar jampacked with fun, engaging, and safe activities and events for everyone! First, I want to address the changes we have made to our traditional events to ensure everyone remains safer while still having fun! • In lieu of our annual Fall Fest event, we will be hosting our new Boo Fest event-a new trick-or-treating event which encourages everyone to dress in costume and will have more than enough candy for the young and youngat-heart! • Our Oyster Roast event will be plated and will require cocktailing tableside-all hors d’oeuvres and desserts will be delivered via our new tableside service carts! • Fashion Show will forgo the live shopping experience, but it will wine and dine you with a live show and a plated lunch or dinner-all which takes place while seated at tables. A second date will be added if the first date reaches full capacity. • With Five Farms remaining open for À la Carte dining, all Fireside Lunches will be held by the fire in our cozy 1898 Grille instead of the Main Lounge. • The Children’s Santa Parties will be re-branded as Brunch with Santa and will include two plated brunch sessions over two Saturdays. All little ones on Santa’s Nice List will receive a special gift from Santa himself! • We have reduced the number of our Holiday Dinner Buffets, and they will now be plated service with cocktailing conducted tableside. Keep an eye out for this years’ themes and specials! 14
Fall/Winter 2020 - Special Edition
• Both our Gingerbread House and Wreath Decorating events will still be offered as to-go kits versus in-person events. • Unfortunately, our Thanksgiving Eve Turkey Bowl, Tree Lighting, Wreath Making, and Children’s Christmas Movie events will not be held this year. We will revisit these events for the 2021 season. Second, I want to highlight a few new events this year: • Calling all cigar aficionados! Join us for our Scotch & Cigar Dinner which includes five pours, four cigars, and a four-course dinner, all served with a portion of education. • Get your daily dose of cuteness and watch Fido and friends at our Howl-O-Ween: Puppy Costume Parade! Dog treats and a red-carpet photo-op included. • Bring your girlfriends and attend our first ever highend brunch with four Billecart-Salmon champagnesincluding one that is completely unlimited! In order to remain fiscally responsible during this time, please be aware that a registration deadline is added for all events. Visit the Club Calendar to find events, dates, and details. As always, if you have any questions, please feel free to email me at hmiller@bcc1898.com. We cannot wait to see you this fall and winter for a safer event season! ◆ Best,
Heather Miller Director of Events

In order to ensure physical distancing, cocktailing will take place with your guests at your tables for a more intimate experience. FITNESS & WELLNESS
BEATING THE
COVID-19 Blues
TIPS FROM YOUR FITNESS & WELLNESS TEAM 1. Tap into the power of gratitude: The simple act of being grateful can boost your mental health. At the end of each day, write down five things you are grateful for from the day. Keep them to yourself or share them with family or friends. 2. Disconnect from technology: Use for work and contact with loved ones only. 3. Take a hike and connect with nature: Feel the fresh air on your face, use your other senses. Patapsco Valley State Park, Gunpowder Falls State Park, Rocks State Park, and Great Falls National Park are just a few the beautiful parks that have great hiking trails. 4. Sleep: Get a good night’s rest and rejuvenate for tomorrow. 5. Do things you love to do: Read a book, paint, workout, cook, or watch a movie or concert. 6. Dance and sing: Turn on your favorite tunes and get your endorphins moving 7. Keep with a routine: Create a sense of normalcy and be productive. 8. Be of service from a distance: Support fundraisers, declutter and donate to a charity, support local businesses online.
9. Create events with your family: Dinner dates, game nights, baking days, movie night, start new traditions. 10. Set goals for next year: Think ahead and stay positive, plan a fun trip for when the worst is over!

GROUNDS
REMINDERS FOR THE FALL/WINTER SEASON By Tim Kennelly, CGCS, Head Geeenkeeper
As a reminder for the fall and winter, frost does occur when the nighttime and morning temperatures (coldest part of the day) drop to a point where water freezes inside the plant and forms into very sharp ice crystals. Pressure from foot, vehicular, and animals on rigid frozen turf rupture the cells within the plant and this causes injury or even death of the plant. Delays in morning start times may be necessary due to this weather event.
Treat your courses with
R.E.S.P.E.C.T Repair your ball mark and one other Every divot should be replaced when possible Sand should be thoroughly raked each time you are in a bunker
Park your cart at least 30 ft from greens and tees Enter and exit bunkers from the flat back side Care and think about the members playing behind you
Together this will make a HUGE difference
During the late fall and winter months the temperatures do not allow for any recovery of the playing surfaces. Continue to repair your ball marks, replace your divots, and wherever possible and rotate from where you tee off to reduce wear and tear from concentrated areas. The less damage from the winter will translate into better playing conditions in the spring. 32
Fall/Winter 2020 - Special Edition
In addition, we will be over-seeding our bermudagrass driving range tees this fall with perennial ryegrass. This is part of a two-grass system strategy that utilizes the warm season grasses in the hot summer months and cool-season grasses in the cool months of fall, winter, and spring. When we approach the time of year when any of these grasses are no longer growing and recovering from divots, practice will be from the allweather surfaces at least until growth resumes in the spring. This will ensure the tees are in the best possible condition for the start of the 2021 season. â—†
GROUNDS
CARE FOR YOUR COURSES We need all golfers' help to maintain championship conditions on your East and West courses. PLAY READY GOLF • 4 hours or less for a foursome 3 hours, 15 minutes or less for a twosome • Prepare to play your shot while others are playing their shots • Invite faster groups to play through
REPAIR YOUR DIVOTS & BALL MARKS • The preferred method for divots remains to put them back in place when they are large enough and intact
GOLF CART • Please use cart paths where available and avoid driving off the edges to prevent wear • Please be careful of driving on slopes and avoid sudden starts, stops, and sharp turns
LIGHTNING POLICY The BCC Lightning Policy is in place to protect and ensure the safety of members and staff. All members must strictly adhere to this policy. Disregard of the policy may result in disciplinary action • When the siren sounds, all members are required to vacate all outdoor facilities immediately and seek shelter indoors • Three brief five-second horn blasts indicate it is safe to return outside

OOEY GOOEY KITCHEN SCIENCE Looking for an activity to keep the little ones occupied? Look no further because we have some kitchen science activities that are a little ooey, extra gooey, and loads of fun!
PLAYDOUGH Ingredients 1 cup flour 1 cup water 1/4 cup salt 2 tsp cream of tartar 1 tbsp vegetable oil food coloring (4 drops)
Instructions 1. Place flour, salt, cream of tartar and vegetable oil in a bowl and mix until combined 2. Slowly add water and mix until the consistency of playdough 3. Add food coloring as desired 4. Knead the dough until the color is evenly dispersed or to the color desired (TIP: Buy cheap gloves for the kids to wear so the food coloring does not stain their hands. If you do not have gloves, a Ziploc bag can work. If they want to use their hands you can always combine water and baking soda to create a paste and rub on their hands to get food coloring off their skin) 5. Place in an airtight container to keep soft
FUN TIP: Plastic cookie cutters make a great tool for hours of fun. Check out the toy aisle at your local dollar store for inexpensive cookie cutters that your kids will love!
OOBLECK
Inspired by Bartholomew and the Oobleck by Dr. Seuss
Ingredients 11/2 cups cornstarch 1 cup water 3 tbsp tempera paint (optional)
Instructions 1. Mix 11/2 cups of cornstarch with 1 cup of water 2. Add 3 tablespoons of tempera paint to the mixture (optional) 3. Mix the ingredients using your hands, adding more cornstarch or water as necessary. You’ll know you’ve got the right consistency when it feels similar to honey or molasses, yet “tears” when you drag your fingers across the surface 4. You can store the oobleck in a covered container to play with again. The cornstarch and water may separate, but you just simply need to work them back together
RECOMMENDATION: Cover your work/play area with an inexpensive plastic tablecloth to make cleanup easier! 38

HOMEMADE GAK Also known as flubber or flarp
Materials & Ingredients 8 oz regular white glue (Elmer's or generic) 1 tsp Borax 1 cup water 1/2 cup warm water food coloring (as needed) Instructions 1. Empty the entire bottle of white glue into a medium sized bowl 2. Add food coloring (the more you add, the brighter it will be) 3. Fill the empty glue bottle with water. Dissolve 1 teaspoon of Borax in 1/2 cup of warm water. If you have trouble getting it to dissolve, put the mixture in the microwave for 20 seconds at a time and stir until it's dissolved 7. Stir the entire Borax mixture into the glue mixture. It will almost instantly get stringy and turn into slime 8. Kneed the rest by hand until all the water is absorbed 9. Store in a large Ziplock bag when you are done playing with it
HOMEMADE MODEL MAGIC Ingredients 2 cups baking soda 1 cup cornstarch + additional for kneading 11/2 cups cold water food coloring (5-10 drops depending on desired color)
Show us your creations!
Instructions 1. Combine all the ingredients in a large sauce pan 2. Heat the mixture over medium heat, whisking constantly until it starts to bubble and thickens into a dough-like consistency 3. Transfer the dough into a bowl. Cover the bowl with a wet towel until it cools 4. Knead the dough on a surface dusted with cornstarch until it is no longer sticky to the touch. Additional cornstarch may be needed. 5. The air dry clay is now ready to be poked, rolled, pinched and sculpted into a masterpiece. 6. Store in an airtight container when you are done playing with it or let your masterpiece dry
