Great People Make Favorite Places

BCC has created an actionable statement that helps define our philosophy known as The Simple Truth: Great People Make Favorite Places. Below is a small sample of staff members who are helping to make BCC your favorite place. ◆

Staff Member of the Month

Leadership Award

MAY

MAY

Phillip Groh, HVAC&R Technician

Michael Wilkinson, Pool Café Chef

Congratulations Phillip on receiving the May Staff member of the Month award! Phillip is a talented staff member with a dynamic skill set and friendly demeanor. He has worked tirelessly to correct numerous maintenance issues while BCC operates two campuses during Phase 1 construction. Phillip has an abundance of energy and is eager to tackle any task even if it’s outside his realm of responsibilities. Phillip is always willing to help, puts BCC first in everything he does, and always brings positive energy when greeting members and staff.

Congratulations Chef Michael on receiving the Exceptional Leadership Award! For the past four seasons Michael has led the charge at the pool. These last two seasons have been particularly challenging with the COVID-19 Pandemic and then Lifestyle Facilities Master Plan Phase 1 construction. His leadership with constant changing of staff has been noticed! He cares about his staff and is always willing to go the extra mile!

Meet the Racquets Interns

David Loveman Mexico City, Mexico How you were introduced to tennis?

I started playing tennis when I was four years old. I grew up watching my dad play and that was my motivation to keep going and start competing when I was 11. What things do you like to do off of the tennis court?

When I'm off the tennis court, I love to travel and live new experiences. What are you enjoying the most so far about your internship at BCC?

The thing I like the most about the internship is the fantastic people and how beautiful the place is.

What would you say to someone who is interested in interning at BCC?

For the people interested in interning at BCC, it’s definitely one of the best experiences you’ll have and you will meet incredible people.

Patricia Martin-Gomez Madrid, Spain How you were introduced to tennis?

I started playing tennis at seven years old and was able to reach a ranking of 192 in the country for all female players. Tennis is the reason I was able to come to the U.S. to study, compete, and start a career. It has given me the opportunity to meet new people, learn a secondary language, and travel. What things do you like to do off of the tennis court?

Off the tennis courts, I enjoy going to the beach with family and friends, traveling around the world, and eating ice cream, anytime it’s offered. What are you enjoying the most so far about your internship at BCC?

My internship at BCC has been nothing short of amazing. I work with some of the nicest people, both co-workers and members, as well one of the best Directors in the country. What would you say to someone who is interested in interning at BCC?

BCC is one of the most enjoyable places I’ve worked. I always enjoy being greeted with a smile and having a workplace I truly enjoy going to. BCC is such a welcoming and comfortable place to learn and grow, and that is why I enjoy working here! 7
