What sets Baltimore Country Club apart from other country clubs? Our people! Our staff members take every step to go above and beyond to accomplish our Simple Truth: Great People Make Favorite Places. Often, there are easy ways to make a positive impression on our members from saying happy birthday to congratulations on an award. However, not being afraid to make the big gestures is what distinguishes us.
We love sharing these stories of the Simple Truth! Submit your Simple Truth experience by filling out the Green Folder Stories form, located at the bottom of the Park & Farms email, in Park & Farms, the staff webpage, or scan the QR codes in the staff breakrooms. BCC encourages all members to submit their own or fellow staff members’ Green Folder Stories.
Brent consistently goes above and beyond his normal responsibilities to ensure that all our members and their guests have an exceptional experience in the golf operation. June and July were particularly busy with gentlemen’s golf events, and Brent’s hard work and attention to detail resulted in first-class events. In addition, Brent is always willing to step in and assist his fellow staff members, whether in the Golf department or other departments throughout the Club. He truly exemplifies our core values and makes BCC a favorite place for our members.
Mike Stanton, East Course Superintendent
Despite the intense summer heat, Mike's leadership has been outstanding in maintaining topnotch playing conditions and stepping up to the plate when issues arise. On Saturday, June 22, with temperatures soaring to 96 degrees, our irrigation system faced a shutdown due to a "Low Level Float Alarm" at 10:09pm. This issue affected several areas, including the East Course, south Driving Range tee, Driving Range field, holes #4 through #6 West, and the clubhouse grounds. Mike quickly addressed the problem, identified a faulty float sensor, and had the system up and running by 11:17pm. The following day, we experienced another all-time heat record. His swift response was crucial in preventing significant damage and ensuring excellent conditions for our members and guests. We are very fortunate to have Mike as a member of our team!
Justin Gladhill,
We are honored to present Justin with the Exceptional Leadership Award—a recognition that has been in the making since 2019! His visionary leadership and unwavering dedication were instrumental in successfully guiding a complex three-year project to regrass the West Course tees with cold-hardy Bermudagrass. Under Justin’s guidance, the team navigated the challenges of maintaining the West Course during the busiest season, all while completing the extensive work with minimal disruption to play. The results of his efforts speak volumes—significant cost savings, reduced water usage, and vastly improved course conditions. Justin’s commitment to excellence, innovative approach to turf management, and relentless pursuit of perfection have left a lasting, positive impact on the Club’s facilities, making him truly deserving of this award.

To help celebrate the year of the dragon at BCC, we have our Events Manager Caroline Pogust, teaching us the art of making a dumpling. Caroline is half Chinese; her family hails from Hong Kong and Shanghai. Growing up, her grandmother was the one who first taught her the craft. She fondly remembers the big batches her grandmother would make, always reaching for a hot dumpling for a snack as opposed to a bag of chips. Now, she makes them with her mom and sister, even her niece and nephew, when they are in the country.

My dinner was delicious. I had the shrimp scampi and the caprese salad.
Pace of food delivery was perfect. Plus, we had many friends stopping by our table and Hannah was more than patient!
Really nice and polite staff and team working. Food is good and consistent. Perfect for pool bar food.
Ashley was a wonderful! She told us about the specials and then helped me decide what fish I wanted for dinner! She was right on target and my mahi mahi was great! It was a busy night but we were served in a timely manner and not rushed at all! So lucky to have Ashley at BCC!
Beautiful day and the in great shape!
Stephen was our server extraordinary today. I always appreciate his attentiveness and chatting about sports with him. The special of the day, the swordfish sandwich, was absolutely fabulous! Both I and my guest ordered it, and we both thought that it was extremely flavorful! Kayla and Chris stopped by our table and said hello to us, as she always does, and it was delightful to talk with her. Kaley was so kind and welcoming as well. Another great experience at the club! I was very proud to be able to show my guest how terrific the staff is and how delicious the food is! Thanks to everyone!
I enjoyed working with Heather! I appreciated her quick response to my questions, and the sharing of her ideas to make the event even better! The event team seemed as excited as I did for the lobster bake and were very attentive to all my guests. Thank you!
Ryan is an exceptional instructor - he diagnoses issues quickly, breaks down drills, keeps the takeaways simple and memorable
Caroline
did an excellent job of keeping the event moving. And
she was fun and funny while
doing it!
Cathy Kim was delightful, fun, professional, and offered great instruction and feedback!
the course was shape!
“Gavin, you run the BEST tennis clinics EVER! They are always fast paced, chocked full of learning tid bits. And you are able to do this for all levels and make it relatable and useful no matter how much skill or experience a group.”
I had a great dining experience. The staff were great and so personable as usual. Kaley was delightful in greeting me and seating. Kayla was terrific and so friendly in serving me. Cynthia was welcoming as always; I thoroughly enjoy her company. She is the perfect example of why I believe that the Staff is so professional and personable. Mihail was a wonderfully attentive and courteous server. Ashley stopped by and said hello and was her always happy and upbeat self. She’s a terrific asset to the Club. Ian and Jared were also extremely kind in saying hello to me. I also want to thank Erik and Chris for welcoming me and stopping by my table to chat. It is always a pleasure to chat with them. Finally, a word about my meal. I think that the blackened mahi-mahi sandwich – which I had in a wrap – is fabulous. My compliments to Chef and his team. It’s a wonderful entrée. Thank you all for another great dining experience at BCC.
“Max corrected a mistake with my order. He was extremely attentive and corrected the mistake. He checked back with me to make sure it came out correctly. The staff of BCC, IS THE BEST. MAX IS A GOOD EXAMPLE OF MY NORMAL EXPERIENCE AT BCC.”
Sophia E. was awesome. Kayla was equally awesome- ALWAYS friendly, fun, caring, helpful and on top of things. Love love BCC!!!
I believe I called and spoke to Patricia. I requested that we be seated so that my nephew could be the one waiting on us. I really didn’t expect it to happen, but she went the extra mile, called me back and helped make it happen. It was really kind and thoughtful of her.
Our guests thoroughly enjoyed the experience of playing our East Course, having drinks on the Adirondack Chairs, and dining on the Grill Porch. Thank you so much!
Our
server was very
nice,
responsive,
and accommodating. Haven't been to the pool in a few years and feel the menu has expanded and the food was really good.

She went out of her way to pick up two other team members and myself early in the morning when we went to First Fruits Farms. We all had fun and she made us feel very comfortable with her. We worked hard that day, and when she realized that we would need to wait for the van to bring us back home, she offered to bring us back home herself. She saved us time and showed so much compassion.

Kudos Korner is composed of different compliments or ‘kudos’ heard around the halls and sent to Staff Engagement Coordinator Madison Elena melena@bcc1898.com. This is to make sure that even if you haven’t heard it from a coworker directly, they are thinking of you! There’s a lot of gratitude to be spread. Thank you for all that you do!
Truthfully, I can depend on her for everything. She is not only a culinary whiz, she’s knowledgeable in everything. Having that kindness and warmth is hard to find, she makes me feel comfortable while still encouraging me to step out of my comfort zone. Vicki always reminds me to acknowledge my own accomplishments, not allowing me to forget all that I do and all that I’ve done.
