2022TRADE VISIONFRIDAY OF FAIR Our goal is to take you on a deeper fair trade journey by featuring a different room in the home every month. The room will be highlighted in your Fair Trade Friday box with items appropriate for that room in your house and will also include thematic unity, scripture, and intentional living inspiration with an overall goal of building deeper handmade collections within your home.

SOW TO GROW Whatever you do today is directly proportional to what will happen tomorrow. —Anonymous Seeds are hope planted. They are fruit for the future. Seeds use both light and darkness to grow. They break down before they produce. “For a seed to achieve its greatest expression, it must come completely undone. The shell cracks, its insides come out and everything changes. To someone who doesn’t understand growth, it would be like complete destruction,” Cynthia Occelli explains. We can never underestimate the power inside a seed. Seeds were made to be sown. It’s a Biblical principle we can trust: We reap what we sow. “Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” 2 Corinthians 9:6-7 Every day, with its new mercies, provides us with an opportunity to sow good things into others. It’s said that true friends are flowers grown from seeds of love. When we lift others up with our words and deeds, we can’t help but rise with them. Matshona Dhliwayo writes that “The most beautiful people are those who bring out the beauty in others.” This month’s Fair Trade Friday box provides you with resources to encourage others and yourself. With encouraging stationery to share and organizational tools for self-growth, it's full of practical consumables to aid your daily growth. There is a season for everything. It’s time to sow to grow.

Street Hope

In 2016, these sixteen women were homeless and doing whatever they could to survive on the streets of Kenya. Mercy House Global provided them an opportunity to sew tiny felt hearts by hand for our tic-tac-toe bags and one by one, they began to change their lives. They are now employed and each have moved into homes and are providing for their children. After gaining more confidence and skills, the women of Street Hope have developed a line of leather goods.

FAIR TRADE FRIDAY

a fair trade subscription clu WHAT IS FAIR TRADE? Fairly-traded products are made by artisans who work in safe conditions, are paid a fair wage, and work fair hours. No child gave up his education to produce your new favorite item; no mom was laboring in a sweatshop for 80 hours a week. We ensure that all of our Fair Trade Friday club items are fairly traded. HOW IS FTF DIFFERENT THAN OTHER SUBSCRIPTION CLUBS? We are not a for–profit company, or even a profit-for-good company — Fair Trade Friday is operated by Mercy House Global, a nonprofit. All profits from FTF directly support our maternal rescue center, Rehema House, in Kenya. You can learn more at mercyhouseglobal.org. FTF PARTNERS WITH FAITH-BASED ARTISAN GROUPS ACROSS THE GLOBE. WHAT DOES THIS MEAN? While we are a faith-based ministry and partner with other faith-based ministries, religion is not forced upon artisans, nor is it a requirement for employment. Many women & their families have different religions than us, and that is okay. Our belief in Christ calls us to love, serve, and help others, regardless of their personal belief systems.
