hope
To live without hope is to cease to live. — Fyodor Dostoevsky Every new day brings new hope. We discover hope in all the firsts, in the do-overs and tryagains. We see it in the apologies, the sunrises, and in every hello. We recognize hope in a smile; hear it in laughter; feel it in a hug. Hope comes from its creator, God. As old years wind down and new ones peek around the corner, it’s nearly impossible not to have expectations and desires for certain things to happen in the future. That’s the very definition of hope after all. It’s in our nature to believe, wish, dream, and wonder. Hope is the very last thing we lose. We have looked at different ways to thrive this year. Thriving at its essence is extravagant growth. Seeds are hope in the smallest form. As we prepare to ring in the new year, take a minute to reflect on these questions and what God has done this year. How did I grow? Where am I thriving? What am I hoping for in the future? Keep growing, keep hoping. Keep going. “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” Romans 15:13

Miujiza
Miujiza means “miracles” in Swahili and that’s exactly what these women are. The grandmothers of some of the babies from the maternity homes are who make up this amazing group. Against all odds, these women have become ceramic workers and master weavers. Their lives are changing in significant ways with this sustainable work and new opportunities. Many of their daughters are now able to return home because of what God has done.

Rehema house
Founded in 2010, Mercy House Global started with a dream to rescue pregnant teen mothers in Nairobi, Kenya. Today, we fully fund three maternity homes in Kenya called Rehema House. Your desk calendar portrays artwork by these beautiful teen mothers. Sanaa is Swahili for “work of art.” You’ll be inspired throughout 2024 as you see the girls’ art on your calendar cards each month.
Under over
Under Over Fellowship is a church located in downtown Conroe, Texas. Among its many ministries that cater to the homeless and marginalized in the community, it also has a men’s program for about twenty men who live at the church. These men live in the church from six months to a year and are given an opportunity to focus on their relationship with Jesus, recover from addiction and mental health issues, and have a chance to start over. Men are given an opportunity to return to past careers, be trained for new ones, or go to school all while hearing about the love of a Savior willing to die on the cross for them.

WHAT IS FAIR TRADE? Fairly-traded products are made by artisans who work in safe conditions, are paid a fair wage, and work fair hours. No child gave up his education to produce your new favorite item; no mom was laboring in a sweatshop for 80 hours a week. We ensure that all of our Fair Trade Friday club items are fairly traded. HOW IS FTF DIFFERENT THAN OTHER SUBSCRIPTION CLUBS? We are not a for–profit company, or even a profit-for-good company — Fair Trade Friday is operated by Mercy House Global, a nonprofit. All profits from FTF directly support our maternal rescue center, Rehema House, in Kenya. You can learn more at mercyhouseglobal.org. FTF PARTNERS WITH FAITH-BASED ARTISAN GROUPS ACROSS THE GLOBE. WHAT DOES THIS MEAN? While we are a faith-based ministry and partner with other faith-based ministries, religion is not forced upon artisans, nor is it a requirement for employment. Many women & their families have different religions than us, and that is okay. Our belief in Ch rist calls us to love, serve, and help others, regardless of their personal belief systems.
