faithfully go

It’s our goal for 2023 to help you slow down, center yourself in the Gospel, and thrive. Each box this year will include a floral theme and a word of the month designed to encourage you to thrive. This greenhouse illustration above will continue to fill with flowers every month. By the end of 2023, it will be full of blossoms just as your home will be full of inspiration and amazing ethically made finds.
With the summer, comes the urge to stretch our legs and go. There’s nothing more consistent than the sun showing up or our desire to explore everywhere it touches.
Whether it’s a staycation or a once-in-a-lifetime trip, travel gives feet to dreams.
A day off can offer the clarity break we need to finish what we started. The world spins on and on and we along with it. Taking a break for a day or a week creates space for God in our lives.
Faithfully showing up for life and work day after day makes temporarily not showing up all the sweeter.
Sometimes the best way to stay is to go.

Street Hope is comprised of sixteen women in Mathare Slum in Nairobi, Kenya, who have lived most of their lives on the streets. Many were orphaned as children and have only known a life of poverty, while others became homeless due to difficult circumstances, forcing them to do whatever necessary to survive. Mercy House Global began training and employing these women in 2016, and one by one they have moved into homes, gaining skills and confidence, and overcoming addiciton.
Single mom, Josephine, and her children went hungry and slept on the streets countless times before she began working with Street Hope. About her life now, she said, “My three kids are all in school, and we no longer go hungry. Rent is not a problem, and we can eat whatever we want. I don’t have any educational background, but my hands are skillful and I work hard.” Josephine is thankful for the opportunity and looks forward to working on future projects.

Fairly-traded products are made by artisans who work in safe conditions, are paid a fair wage, and work fair hours. No child gave up his education to produce your new favorite item; no mom was laboring in a sweatshop for 80 hours a week. We ensure that all of our Fair Trade Friday club items are fairly traded.
We are not a for–profit company, or even a profit-for-good company — Fair Trade Friday is operated by Mercy House Global, a nonprofit. All profits from FTF directly support our maternal rescue center, Rehema House, in Kenya. You can learn more at mercyhouseglobal.org.
While we are a faith-based ministry and partner with other faith-based ministries, religion is not forced upon artisans, nor is it a requirement for employment. Many women & their families have different religions than us, and that is okay. Our belief in Christ calls us to love, serve, and help others, regardless of their personal belief systems.
