Where the Auction monies go

The Center School Community Association (CSCA), comprised of parents, teachers and students, has been in existence at The Center School (TCS) since its beginning, working to ensure the legacy of the original vision of the school. From that first graduating class 12 years ago to today’s Class of 2015, students have thrived at The Center School, in large part due to the dedication of the CSCA and their goal of providing both the basics…and extras…that make TCS an award-winning and fun place to go to school! The CSCA budget, all funded from donations, currently covers the following programs…and more:

Partnership with The Seattle Rep Student playwriting performances

Writers in the Schools A program sponsored by

Seattle Arts and Lectures, WITS brings award-winning poet, Matt Gano, into TCS classrooms to teach and inspire students. TCS Humanities teacher, Sophia Lelevich, coordinates the program.

Arts Integration Overseen by TCS’s Wyn Pottinger-Levy with the help of Kevin McCarthy, dedicated volunteer parents and artists from the community are invited into TCS classrooms to support integrated learning in Math, Science, and Humanities.

Model United Nations (MUN) A student club,

led by TCS teacher Andy Bell. Participants role-play as diplomats representing a country or NGO in simulated United Nations committee sessions, both in Seattle and at conferences.

Technology Upgrades CSCA money is set aside for

upgrades and new equipment for the TCS computer lab, film and photography classes.

And More The CSCA also funds guest speakers,

team building activities and events, ski bus and test scholarships, clubs, graduation expenses, and other administrative supplies/needs.
