The Nehemiah Model The only model in the Bible of urban city transformation occurred about 500 years before Christ, as recorded in the Old Testament Book of Nehemiah. The Pray for Jerusalem initiative, however, which helped position the transformation, is recorded in the Book of Ezra. In following the Nehemiah model, as herein detailed, we are insured success. PrayForNewark : This prayer saturation initiative which precedes transformation has 900 persons praying daily for each of Newark’s 900 streets. The Bible: Prayer Saturation for the Nehemiah Model was positioned before Nehemiah arrived at Jerusalem. King Darius’ decreed to let the Jews alone to build the House of God and “offer up sacrifices of sweet savors unto the God of heaven” including prayer for the king and his sons. (Ezra 6:10, also, Jesus referred to Temple, his Father’s House, as House of Prayer).

Dominion has experienced an uphill and turbulent first twenty four years. To God be the glory! Our urban outreach ministry focus is consistent with our calling. As we must continue to go where the work is unattractive an do what seems unglamorous. The challenges are daunting. The rewards are glorious. Indeed these are times that try men’s souls. In the midst of these trying times we have this consolation; the more difficult the struggle the more glorious the victory. We must stay the course and in so doing we have this blessed assurance – the glorious victory is ours-the glorious battle is the Lords. This is our Father’s business and we must be about it. The harvest is plenty.

in position and poised for full evangelical outreach implementation. The Tactical Operations Committee is moving forward toward 100% street adoption in the Pray For Newark collaborative effort with the Caring Network, World Impact and Harvest Evangelism. Manna Station operations are progressing along with Eastern Theological Seminary as our Kingdom ministry training arm. ReMA with support from the Metro family is expanding it’s function and infrastructure.

We thank God for those that have partnered with us, and for those that minister at the Manna Station. We must stay the course. For better days are yet to come and greater things are still to be done. Let us not be weary in well doing – in due season we will reap if we faint not.

We have prayed to the Lord of the harvest for laborers. The Lord has heard the prayer and the laborers have moved into position. Dominion’s Strategic Operations Council is now fully mobilized and overseeing the Transformation Newark operation. Dominion Coalition is www.dominionfellowshipministries.com

News Release: Newark’s “Save Our Water” Ordinance Initiative Moves Forward

Never underestimate the intelligence and power of the citizens of Newark. With the certification by the Newark City Clerk’s office yesterday of the “Save Our Water” initiative petition, the residents of have taken a giant step to a transparent, legal, and competently functioning public water and sewer department. Newark residents have also taken a giant step toward a sound budget for the City of Newark, and a giant step away from fiscal gimmicks, expensive boondoggles, and loss of some of our most valuable watersewer resources. Spearheaded by the Newark Water Group, more than 5,380 Newarkers signed the “Save Our Water”petitions, in record time, driving this ordinance forward. The Water Group apologizes to the many others across the city who wanted to sign the initiative petition, but were unable to do so before the deadlines. Petition circulators informed people of the issues and gathered signatures on some of the hottest days, and even during some of the worst thunderstorms of this summer. They took extra care to gather signatures accurately and to meet all the legal requirements. The Water Group thanks all the circulators. City Clerk Robert Marasco and his staff worked diligently to check and verify the signatures. The Water Group made a point of thanking the Clerk and his staff. The next step is for the City Council to approve the “Save Our Water” ordinance. “It’s a great ordinance that will protect the City of Newark’s resources for future generations and we have every expectation that they will approve it,” said Terri Suess, Newark Water Group member. “The public has spoken; now it is up to the City Council to act.” If the council fails to adopt the ordinance, it will force the issue to a vote of the people, in a special election.

“The council has every reason to adopt this ordinance,” said Brenda Toyloy, of the Newark Water Group. “It provides a roadmap for hiring a Newark Water Director, as required by city charter, so plans for improving the water-sewer system will have a champion.” “This ordinance gives the City a prudent path to improve the infrastructure, to improve transparency and accountability, and to put the City’s fiscal house in order,” said Bill Chappel, Newark Water Group member. This is one step for the advance of municipal democracy. Council members should be overjoyed that their constituents are giving them this opportunity to unhitch the "MUA distraction" from the annual budget process. The repeated attempts by the administration to build its budgeting proposals on the MUA can finally be stopped. Contact your council member and let them know you support a sane solution for our budget. Tell them you are not in favor of a credit card fix today, that will put us into bankruptcy tomorrow with a debt that will hover over us for the next 35 years..
