Life is a reflection of you... A boy and his father are hiking through the mountains. The father gets a little bit ahead, and the boy slips. He bangs his leg on a rock and yells, “Ouch!” Just as soon as he says that he hears “Ouch!” coming right back at him. A little startled he yells out to the mountains, “Who are you?” thinking it’s someone mocking him. Immediately he hears a reply back, “Who are you?”. He then yells, “You coward!” And just the same way, he hears the same response “You coward!” Getting more frustrated and about to burst into anger, he looks to his father and asks him, “What’s going on?” His father just smiles and says, “Son, pay attention”. He then yells back to the mountain, “I admire you, you are a leader, you are a champion, you can do anything!” With each phrase, he receives the same response in return. The boy looks a little confused so the father explains, “Son, people call this an ECHO; but really, this is LIFE. It gives you back everything you do or say. Life is a re- flection of our actions!” If you want to be loved more by others, it first starts with giving more love to others.

Linda McCampbell Firm Foundation Fitness and Nutrition

“You got this!” article by Mary Bounds It’s a fact; as we age, our bodies change. Bothersome aches, pains, and an expanding waistline seem to come with the passing of time. But life over 50 doesn’t have to be dictated by negative effects of discomfort, fatigue, or weight gain. In fact, at Firm Foundation Fitness and Nutrition in the Cool Springs area, older adults are reclaiming control of their lives, achieving renewed strength, restored vitality, and improved mobility. At the center of these amazing results is the enthusiastic founder, trainer and instructor, Linda McCampbell, who at the age of 58, possesses a true desire to give back, helping older adults feel “fabulous over fifty.”

A native of North Carolina, Linda McCampbell grew up in a family prone to diabetes and obesity. Determined to break this pattern and live a fit, healthy life, McCampbell adopted a personal, long-term goal of physical fitness, becoming active in gymnastics and sports at an early age. Later, seeking ways to help others stay physically fit, McCampbell earned certifications in personal training, back care, Pilates, and yoga. In fact, helping others attain or maintain a healthy lifestyle eventually evolved from a mere pastime into McCampbell’s personal and professional passion. After thirty years as a successful forensic paralegal, and many

discussions and full support from her husband Harrison, McCampbell made a conscious decision to leave her career in law and devote her life to helping others. “I felt like it was what I was truly called to do…It’s not about me. It’s about giving back.” What’s more, having a particular interest in the still-fabulous-over-50 age group, McCampbell became a Certified Aging and Special Needs Trainer. Realizing older adults risk losing their health and independence from conditions such as arthritis, fibromyalgia, and osteoporosis, she immersed herself into learning how to make them stronger and healthier. Along with improving physical wellbeing, McCampbell also has a genuine
