Located in the heart of Philadelphia, Atria Center City offers the best of both worlds for older adults: a lively downtown residence with the comforts of home. Atria Center City provides with independent living, assisted living and memory care (life guidance) options. Interior renovations included a new lobby, pub, dining room, theater, beauty salon, wellness suite, PT room, library, and upgraded roof deck. In addition, Meyer’s scope included the conversion of a new 16-unit/23-bed life guidance neighborhood with upgrades to corridors with new memory boxes, carpet, paint, lighting and trim. New life guidance amenities included a solarium, a country kitchen, dining room, activity room, lounge and library. Meyer worked with the construction manager and owner on a multiphased renovation plan to maintain occupancy with minimal disruption to residents.

Lobby Working with the existing marble floor medallion and ceiling conditions the Lobby at Center City took the existing features and dramatically enhanced them to create a focal point. The Lobby showcases professional artwork donated by the residents.

Bistro In the Bistro a wall was demolished, opening up the space to the Lobby. Native Philadelphia brick was added to create a focal point wall which pops the blue cabinets found in the Bistro millwork. A mixture of seating areas allows residents a choice of casual dining.

Bar Inspired by Boat House Row in Philadelphia, PA, the Bar brings local Philadelphia culture into the interior space through a suspended row boat from a wood plank ceiling. Philadelphia inspired artwork hangs on the walls throughout as well as a focal point built-in seating area with screen above allowing visual access to the Main Dining Room.

Beauty Salon The Beauty Salon received major renovations with a new larger location located directly off the elevator lobby. A custom vinyl pattern floor was designed for the heavy traffic area. Decorative glass was installed allowing for visual access into the room, with a focal point brick wall and style stations.

Theater The theater at Center City brings residents together with dual moving screens allowing for great views for every resident. The wall sconces provide flexibility in lighting options, and the built-in millwork houses a popcorn machine and media storage.

Library Without having a truly dedicated Library, it was important to create a space to bring all the literature together. The new Library features decorative millwork lighting, a fish tank and a fireplace.

Life Guidance Dining The addition of the Life Guidance and Memory Care Wing showcases a residential-style country kitchen in the Dining Room with great views from the historic street below. A wall was removed and the space was expanded for easier mobility and flexibility.

Roof Deck The 5th Floor Roof Deck provides great city views to residents. A new metal and glass outdoor wall system provides security and protection. Its built-in sun screen allows for flexible shading from the sun with new outdoor furniture installed.
