Interior renovations included a new lobby, pub, dining room, theater, beauty salon, wellness suite, fitness room, library, and upgraded roof deck. In addition, a new 16-unit/23-bed life guidance neighborhood was implemented with a solarium, a country kitchen, dining room, activity room, lounge and library. Meyer worked with the construction manager and owner on a multiphased renovation plan to maintain occupancy with minimal disruption to residents.

Brandywine Living’s Haddonfield facility, situated on a quaint residential street in the heart of Haddonfield, was comprised of the 1865 historic E. Hodgson Home with a 9,880 SF addition built in 1953 to house its senior residents. Brandywine Living wanted to renovate the facility by restoring the E. Hodgson Home back to its original condition and renovate the antiquated addition into a modern senior assisted living residence.

The interior of the community features fresh and inviting tones with beautiful artwork of local scenery and historical images. The ‘wow’ space in the community is the Whiskey Tavern, located on the third floor under the entrance tower, this old world-style bar has large open tray ceilings with heavy wood timber trusses and a variety of seating options.

Meyer’s architecture is drawn from the nearby hillside farmsteads and Monongahela river mills with an organic exterior palette filled with natural elements of stone and wood. The large wood truss porto-cohere and dormers give the four-story building its warm and cozy mountain lodge impression.

S I E N A LU X U RY R E S I D E N C E S CINNAMINSON, NJ Siena Luxury Residences, an upscale Active Living/55+ community in Cinnaminson, NJ, recently broke ground on a new clubhouse and seven residential buildings to complete the campus. The 15-acre development is currently home to active adults aged 55 or older and consists of five residential buildings. The interior design of the clubhouse features a great room with modern finishes and cozy lounge furniture, as well as a fitness center, yoga studio, coffee bar and card room.

A walking path connects residents to Stony Brook Park just next door, while a short walk gives residents access to downtown Darien. In order to better accommodate its residents and staff, a renovation was necessary to upgrade the facility to offer residents better services and amenities.

Frederick Living is a non-for-profit Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) based in Upper Frederick Township, Montgomery County, PA with approximately 300 residents on 67 acres. Frederick’s senior management team determined the need to assess the depth of market for independent living, evaluate their financial options for potential growth, and master plan the entire campus. Meyer was selected to revise and implement the master plan for Frederick Living which includes a new skilled nursing building, a visitor/welcome center with dining venue expansion, an administrative link with a new physical theraphy area and salon, a wellness center with a new indoor pool and locker room, and a new, ground-up senior apartment building and greenhouse.

George T. Wilson, AIA, LEED AP, NCARB Managing Principal of Meyer Architects, Inc. George has been Managing Principal of Meyer Architects since its inception in 1987. George has been on the forefront of the evolution of residential and housing design, including the change of demographics, the rise of memory care needs in senior living, and the growing impacts of technology. George is a founding member of the Delaware Valley Green Building Council and has been instrumental in helping clients attain LEED certifications for new communities.

Dan King, AIA, NCARB Principal & Living Studio Leader A proven leader, thinker, and strategist, Dan has developed a loyal base of clients and keeps his team on the forefront of design through continuing education and conferences. Dan is an active participant in Argentum and LeadingAge, and has served as a judge for Argentum’s annual design awards programs for many years.

Shannon Remaley, NCIDQ, LEED GA Project Manager & Director of Interiors Shannon directs and manages the interiors and FF&E group of Meyer’s Living Studio. Her sharp eye and focus on improving the health and well-being of seniors has assisted in creating refined living environments. This ability and passion to design for the needs and environments of the aging has earned Shannon and her team repeat client relationships.

Matt Wittemann, CPSM Business Development Manager Matt manages the growing business of our Living Studio and focuses on developing and maintaining relationships with clients and our trusted business partners. As a Certified Professional Services Marketer (CPSM), Matt has developed a reputation as a leader in marketing and business development.
