We Are Renovation Ready. There are many of ways to improve the spaces that residents and staff use everyday. Wear and tear is the number one reason providers need to make upgrades or changes, but there are other creative ways to make old, new. Renovation projects come in all shapes and sizes. Meyer focuses on three categories of renovations: refresh, repositioning and adaptive reuse. Each with its own challenges and opportunities to improve the resident experience. From small touch-ups to large, multi-phased renovations, Meyer’s Senior Living Studio team works with providers to bring their imaginations to reality with cost effective and efficient design solutions.

TH E V I RG I N I A N Meyer is currently working with Focus Healthcare Partners on renovating and reprogramming the Virginian Retirement Community in Fairfax, VA. The community is one large building, five-stories above ground and two-stories partially below grade. There are 316 units broken into 134 Independent Living (IL) units, 117 Assisted Living (AL) units, 11 Memory Care (MC) units and 54 Skilled Nursing (SN) units within the building. Meyer worked with the owner to reinvent each space with the building with new layouts and amenities based on market demand and the needs of seniors. The intent for the finished product is to have a Class A community that attracts residents due to the amenities offered and aesthetic beauty of the spaces.

Studio, one-bedroom and twobedroom apartments all have full kitchens and a host of amenities reminiscent of a luxury hotel. In fact, this property was once a Marriott Residence Inn that has been fully renovated as an independent living community for seniors. The community offers three restaurant-style meals a day in a beautiful dining room with access to an outdoor patio. The wow factor to the community is the two-story lobby with a full height fireplace and ample seating with open access to the bistro and sports bar. It has indoor and outdoor swimming pools with lockerroom facilities, sauna, gym, movie theater, art studio, salon and barber shop and exquisitely furnished living and common areas. Client
