OUR STUDIO
Meyer is a steadfast architecture and interior design firm dedicated to creating environments that enrich daily life. We work with developers, operators and non-profits that are creating the senior housing solutions of the future. For more than four decades, clients from across the country have come to Meyer for new construction, asset repositioning, adaptive reuse, and interior design. Twenty years ago, we started a dedicated senior living practice. We are privileged to contribute to the evolution of thinking and quality of life for seniors, while continuing to drive change and innovation.

WE WORK ACROSS THE SENIOR LIVING CONTINUUM We are specialists in senior housing and our dedicated team works across the country and across the senior living continuum: independent living, assisted living and memory care. We’ve been on the forefront of senior living design, including the change of resident demographics and the growing impact of technology.
DESIGNING WITH DIGNITY AND CARE Dignity means the ability to make choices. We design so there are numerous options for individual and group interaction, among residents and with family visitors. We work hard to include meaningful references to local materials, culture and art. For residents, this attention to detail imparts comfort and familiarity, extending the local community to a place they call home.
EXPERIENCE GUIDES US. PASSION DRIVES US While experience guides us, our passion drives us to seek innovation. We’re informed by thought leaders in healthcare, technology, psychology, and design who share our passion. Our related work in health care delivery, including life centers and skilled nursing, deepens our experience.

SENIOR LIVING STUDIO LEADERS
George T. Wilson, AIA, LEED AP, NCARB Managing Principal of Meyer Architects, Inc. George has been Managing Principal of Meyer Architects since its inception in 1987. For over 20 years, he has grown our Senior Living Studio to become a nationally recognized design group. His designed communities have been the home of multiple generations of the aging population. George has been on the forefront of the evolution of senior care design, including the change of resident demographics, the rise of memory care needs, and the growing impacts of technology. Despite multiple paradigm shifts of senior care design, George has always remained rooted in his core design beliefs for seniors — creating safe and comfortable community-based environments. Further evidence of his passion and commitment for healthy environments, George is a founding member of the Delaware Valley Green Building Council and has been instrumental in helping clients attain LEED certifications for new communities. George is active in both Argentum and Leading Age. In 2015, he was selected by NAIOP to present Niche Development of the Future — Senior Living in 2030 at an international conference in Toronto. In 2016, he presented a Green Build Seminar: “Sustainability and Wellness in Senior Living.”
Dan King, AIA, NCARB Principal + Senior Living Studio Leader As Meyer’s Senior Living Studio Leader, Dan leads our design and delivery team through all of the intricacies of designing and building new senior living communities. A proven leader, thinker, and strategist, Dan has developed a loyal base of senior living clients for his studio. He keeps his team on the forefront of senior living design through continuing education and conferences. Dan is an active participant in Argentum (formerly ALFA), and has served as a judge for Argentum’s annual design awards programs for multiple years. His passion for architecture, combined with his compassion for others, carries him overseas biannually to perform pro-bono architectural work in developing countries.
Matt Wittemann Business Development Manager Matt manages the growing business of our Senior Living Studio and focuses on developing relationships with both for-profit and not-for-profit senior living clients, as well as our trusted business partners. With more than 10 years of experience in the AEC industry, Matt has developed a reputation as a leader in marketing and business development in his field. He also takes an active role in outside trade organizations including the Urban Land Institute (ULI) where he serves on the Philadelphia District Council Advisory Board and co-chairs Programs Committee, and is a member of the Society for Marketing Professional Services (SMPS).
