[ infilling faith ]

/ * infilling faith proposes a place for spontaneous assembly of the earth’s 5 major religions: hinduism, buddhism, christianity, islam, and judaism. the [interfaith infill] recognizes the condition of an urban infill site nestled between two existing christian centers of worship. the site condition offers a unique approach and arrival. the proposal anticipates the assembly and co-existence of the religions while offering private places of prayer. the proposal recognizes the need of spaces for many, spaces for few, and spaces for one. the scalar position of the interfaith center realizes the intimate nature of man, and the presence and existence of human faith.* / 01 02 03 04 05 06 07 08 09 10 11 12 13

/ * living history proposes an interactive and engaging historic center to recognize the character of knoxville, tn. the proposal utilizes the existing context of the urbanity of downtown knoxville while relating to the cultural history of the region. the adventerous spirit of explorers and settlers drives the concept of living history acting in dialogue with the dispersal and extended environment of contemporary culture. living history engages a secret exploration and uses the frame as the driver of the exploration of surprise and delight; the notion of the architectural promenade. living history offers a view into the history of the east tennessee and the promise for an adventure.* /

/ * music row is a historic neighborhood at the foundation of the musical culture in nashville, tn. established as a residential neighborhood southwest of downtown, music row grew into a small business district pursuing musical production and recording. as the music industry in nashville exploded and evolved, so too did music row. music row 2.0 engages the future of music and the evolving dialogue between musical production and digital media. the evolvement of music row recognizes the historic past while anticipating a bright and exciting future. the collaboration of work, lfe, and play is combined with musical production to tune the already lively neighborhood.* /

/ * semiosis landscape recognizes the historic and contemporary modes of transit culture in east tennessee. the theoretical approach of semiotics finds an operation of juxtaposing community pride and trust with motorist movement and cubism. the proposal for a fire station utilizes the speed of the passerby as a catalyst for engaging the community and the region. the architecture of the fire promotes refuge from transportation, laying hold to the historic roots inherent in the community of seymour, tennessee. * /

/ * the illusionist is a manipulated narrative through a digital blur. digitalism creates moments of post-truth experiences through extended and dispersed facts to create alternative facts. this interface of truth and alternative fact

extend

an

ultraphysical existence into a hyperphysical experience. this outlook promotes a foundation to further research and design proposals of existing in a mulitple reality.* /

/ * interfacing temporalities is a selfdirected research and speculative design approach to architecture that exists somewhere in the 21st century at the collision of physical and virtual realities. as technology exponential increases the human experience is dispersed and extended across a strata of scales; the _ nano to the _global. the work investigates experience across these scales as a mode of posthumanism [post-biology]. this is on-going through research and design interests and implements a timely and personal agenda of the role architecture will play in the technological epoch.* / anatomical host.
