Updates from the Global Network. October and November were months full of events and happenings in every part of the world in AIESEC, here is a short list what are the most important ones around the globe: 1. Launch of the new internal system - www.myAIESEC.net 2. First MENA Presidents Summit 2011, Rotterdam, The Netherlands 3. The power of our network 4. Gulf Conference uniting top talents of the Arab World.
Launch of the new internal system - www.myAIESEC.net After almost two years of work the new system is here! AIESEC International was working on the system for almost two years and here it is - after a long waiting the system was launched with a live-stream from the global office in Rotterdam. More than 3000 people were online watching the historical event, our national team was present as well. Brand new system speeds up our internal operations, making core processes easier and more efficient. First MENA Presidents Summit 2011, Rotterdam, The Netherlands For the first time in the history of the region, the presidents of the countries in the MENA region met to define the common direction for the organization in the region and the ambition for the next 5 years. As well to discuss further what our impact can be in MENA and to connect as a strong network. Updates from the Global Network. The former president of AIESEC International - Hugo Pereira has been named as the world’s most networked person in the Network Challenge launched by Western Union in July this year, to mark its 16 anniversary and celebrate it status as one of the world’s most globally connected companies. The global search was fuelled by a new interactive, online application called Your World. It visualizes Facebook users' global connections and awards a score for how globally connected they are. Users can compare their ranking against their Facebook Friends; others in their country and others in the world. “With 4,932 friends in 124 different locations across the globe, and a Network Score of 476133, Portuguese national, Hugo Pereira, beat more than 250,000 Your World users worldwide to claim the title of the world's most globally connected person. By comparison, the average person in Kenya has a Network Score of 6174 with 237 friends in 26 different locations. Pereira attributes his feat to years of networking in his role as global president of AIESEC, the world's largest youth-led organization, which has 60,000 active members in more than 1,800 universities in 110 countries and territories.
Youth to Business Forum and GulfCo 2011, 2-5 November 2011 - Manama, Bahrain Gulf Conference is the annual conference that is held in one of the Gulf Countries: UAE, Bahrain, Oman and Qatar. The aim of the Gulf Conference is to unite all AIESEC members around the region and enable mutual cooperation. The first AIESEC Gulf Conference took place in Bahrain, followed by Qatar, Oman, UAE and this year is back In Bahrain. The mission of the conference is to unite the members of our organization, to share ideas between the countries in the region and develop the leadership skills in the young talent of our organization. This November, the conference was opened with Gulf Youth to Business Forum where the university students will met with professionals from top companies and discussed business & education and how it should work as one.
