One of the show's themes is runner Mika Brzezinski's getting after Joe Scarborough's couch-potato lifestyle. This Thursday morning, Mika is winning the day as she hosts the "Morning Joe Bi-Partisan Health Challenge", a 3K to promote healthy living, in Washington, D.C. Tune in MSNBC on Thursday morning, 7:30 for a rare, real live race on national television. Mika, Joe and Willie to Host Way Too Early Event on Mall [Mika, Joe and Willie to Host Way Too Early Event on Mall - MediaBistro.com] MediaBistro.com — It is really way too early, but it could be worth it. The crew from MSNBC's "Morning Joe" will host the following event on the National Mall at 7:30 a.m. on Sept. 16. The Morning Joe Bi-Partisan Health Challenge A 3K challenge to promote healthy living Thursday, September 16, 2010 7:30 AM The National Mall Washington, D.C. Hosted live on air by Morning Joe's Joe Scarborough, Mika... ============================================================================ Running Network's Mr. Ubiquitous - ERIE, PENNSYLVANIA (SEPTEMBER 12, 2010) - Erie Marathon at Presque Isle State Park ============================================================================ Mr. Ubiquitous, aka Gary Morgan, reports: "Last week I was checking out MarathonGuidecom for a marathon/half marathon for last weekend, and I saw the Erie Marathon. So I checked out the comments about the race and runners gave stunning reviews of the race. Plus a running friend of mine, Brad Emons, had run the race before and told me I wouldn't disappointed in running it. That hooked me and late Saturday afternoon I headed to Erie Pennsylvania. Never been there so another new adventure. Made it to the east side of Cleveland with just a 90 mile drive in the early morning. Got up at 4:30am and drove the rest of the way to Erie. It was rainy and windy. Not an ideal day for running a long race. I finally make it to Presque Isle State Park. It's still dark, I find a place to park, head over to the registration desk and pay my money to run a half marathon. In today's world it's tough to find a marathon/half marathon race that will let you register the day of the race. It's getting close to 7am and the rain quits and the wind is not quite as stiff. The marathoners line up and take off as the gun goes off. Us halfers had to wait uuntil 7:30 to start. Enough time to use the port-a-pottys.

NEWS - SEPTEMBER 15, 2010

The half starts and then I could see how beautiful this race course was. It's a 13.1 mile loop around the peninsula, tree lined with views of Lake Erie. I almost thought I was running in Northern Michigan along Lake Michigan. There were lots of aid stations and a fair amount of spectators along the way for a medium sized race. This was the 37th edition of this race which would make it one of the older races here in the USA. Lots of community support. As I finished they gave all finishers ceramic medals with the nature center on it, a baseball hat and lots of oranges, watermelon and bananas to replenish our withered bodies. Later on there were Subway sandwiches, chips and drinks. You didn't leave this race hungry. After a race it's all about the food. I went over to the beach and took pictures as it was a little chilly to get in the water. This truly is a great place to run a race. The Erie runners love hosting it. Come to Erie, Pa and run at Presque Isle, You won't regret it. Keep on running" ============================================= Michigan Skier TV: Lake Placid Olympic Center ============================================= Join us for a visit to Lake Placid, home of the 1932 and 1980 Olympics.
