THINK BIG AT MA

“After vacationing at Mauna Lani Point, we can’t go back to a hotel room with only 450 square feet. Condos here range from 1,100 to 1,700 square feet. There’s no contest. Unlike the cramped quarters of a hotel room, here you have space to settle in. That’s the ultimate vacation. Feeling at home, knowing that we can relax” - Jack and Susan from Sacramento 4

AUNA LANI POINT

“Just outside the door of our condo was a large garden of soft grass that was perfect for our small kids to play on,” - Cynthia from Chicago 5

PLAN FOR INSPIRIN

“Our family never gets tired of visiting Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. The landscape is always changing so we keep going back! A helicopter tour was the most dramatic but this year we hiked at our own pace from Kalapana to get up close to the volcano’s most recent activity. All amazing!” - Jill and Jenny from Vancouver

NG ADVENTURES

Volcano fact from Big Island Visitors Bureau Website: “Kilauea is sometimes called “the world’s only drive-in volcano.” This prolific volcano currently produces 250,000-650,000 cubic yards of lava per day, enough to resurface a 20-mile-long, two-lane road daily.”

EVEN QUIET MOMENTS AR

“We hiked down into Pololu Valley which is definitely one of the most scenic spots on the Island. We’re still talking about our picnic on the black sand beach surrounded by such natural beauty.” - Randy & Catherine from Naselle Tip: It’s a steep rocky path down that takes about 30-45 minutes to reach the beach. You need to be in good shape, wear sturdy shoes and take lots of water. 8

RE REMEMBERED LARGE

“My wife prefers easy scenic rides so we parked at the Pololu Valley Lookout. No walking just an amazing view up the coast over deep green cliffs and the blue blue ocean.” - Hal and June from Phoenix

STAY AND PLAY WI

“We went to a farmer’s market at The Shops at Mauna Lani and stocked our condo kitchen with local produce!” - Teri and Justin from Chicago

10

ITHIN THE RESORT “There was Hawaiian culture on stage every day at The Shops. Our family appreciated the ukulele lessons on Wednesdays and the Polynesian Hula and Fire Show on Mondays and Thursdays, - The Wright family from Dallas

NO RESORT FEE AN

“There’s no resort fee here even though they had resort amenities. We loved the private pool pavilion and daily maid service. Nearby condos charge a resort fee of about $30/day and some charge a cleaning fee. Those savings add up.” - Joe and Ginny from Albuquerque 12

ND NO SURPRISES “I needed to stay in touch with my business so the free wi-fi in my condo was important.” - Donato from San Jose

HAWAII ISLAND FESTIVALS

No matter when you visit you’ll find festivals and special events that are not “touristy” at all! In fact most are organized by local residents and celebrate Hawaii’s unique cultural mix.

10/04/14 KOHALA COUNTRY FAIR The Kohala Country Fair celebrates its 30th anniversary with all-day live music, hula, old-fashioned country games and contests, and more than 100 food and craft booths.

11/7 – 11/16/14 KONA COFFE FESTIVAL (44TH ANNUAL) The Festival includes innovative Kona coffee farm tours, native Hawaiian arts and culture events, keiki (child) friendly activities, and a celebration of cultural diversity blended together in 10 event-filled days honoring nearly 200 years of Kona coffee history.
