Stand up paddleboard is right up there in popularity with surf lessons now. There’s so many ways to enjoy this beach. In the winter you can see adult whales weighing over 80,000 pounds lift themselves completely out of the water!

I have a thousand recommendations! Choice Health Bar is an awesome place in Lahaina. I can’t resist their smoothie with hazelnuts, mint, banana and cocoa nibs. Right next door is West Maui Cycles where you can rent a bike. 9

Dan Van Poucke, tennis pro: We do things a little differently. There’s no pressure here so for example a family can just borrow some racquets and enjoy an outing. But I also actively take care of guests with a player mentality by putting together singles & doubles. 10
R EVERYBODY! I’m an avid surfer too so if asked I can suggest surf spots around West Maui. In the Winter there’s “Rainbows” at Honokowai, and in Summer “Thousand Peaks” at the Pali.

Mark Altier, general manager: Honestly I can’t decide if I prefer to play the Kaanapali course in the morning or the afternoon. It’s amazing to tee off in the morning and see the sunrise over the West Maui Mountains. 12

And then there’s a round in the late afternoon. As I’m finishing up I see the sun setting over the Pacific Ocean. If I don’t play well I can always say I was distracted by the spectacular views!
