MIGUEL RAMIREZ
ABOUT ME I am really interested in the way things work, the way we humans try to
understand ourselves and the enviroment we live in. This is why I like science, from physics and math to sociology and phylosophy. I believe we as designers must work together in groups for the improvement of our community. The final form of an object must be the result of a methodological approach that enables the object to resolve a problem the most optimal way possible, while also being coherent with it’s context. I also have a hopeful vision of the future. Sue me.

Food we eat at lunch should have a positive impact on our body and prepare us for the rest of the day. Most of the time our food choices are made without clear understanding of the effect they have on our well-being.
7
Context
Street food exists througout the world, with endless variations according to culture and regions.
Taco Dosa Hot dog Pretzel Burger Banh mi Fish and chips Chaat Falafel Doner kebab Arepa Cachapa Anticuchos Sopaipilla Pizza French fries Sultsina Pão de queijo Covrigi Currywurst Poutine Choripan Udon Pad thai Dahi bardhay Tteokbokki Es kacang hijau Smazerry syr Zapiekanka Kenkey Merguez Chin chin Boerewors Soft serve Empadana Poutine Bocadillo and many more...
IT’S MORE ABOUT EXPERIENCE AND LESS ABOUT FOOD
Street food openly violates many of the rules that exist at home. The consumption is both a private and a public event, it takes place on the street, and therefore open to the eyes of everyone, it’s tied to our sense of collectivity: You are alone and together with others at the same time, this creates an atmosphere of complicity between participants, sometimes we exchange a few words, make a joke, discuss an opinion, and it’s because this situation that induces a sense of trust and unusual intimacy. 8
2.5 billion people eat street food every day. Over 11 million italians usually eat out, with a cost of â‚Ź 46 billion (or 30.8% of total food consumption)
ITALY
MALI (HAWAII)
INDONESIA
27% of the average family budget is spent on street food.
26% of the informal sector is involved in the industry of street food.
BANGKOK
AFRICA
Street food vendors provide the residents of the city with about 40% of their overall energy intake.
80% of the population fed them from street food and it represents 40% of food expenditures.
MALAYSIA AND THE PHILIPPINES 25-30% of the expenditure of the families takes place with the street food

Narrowing down
Dealing with a topic this broad, we chose to narrow it to an specific moment of our daily lives: 7:00 Breakfast
10:00 Brunch
13:00 Lunch
16:00 Afternoon snack
19:00 Dinner
The lunch break Being healthy does not consists just of being physicaly healthy, but also mentaly and emotionaly. And the food we eat can have a major impact on all of these areas.
Why? We observed that, despite being a fundamental part of our nutrition we seldom realize that the way we handle our lunch breaks has a greater impact on our overall physical and mental well-being. Working people often neglect or diminish the importance of this activity when in reality, our minds and bodies need down time in the middle of stressful situations to recover energy and be able to refocus. It not only allows us to replenish our energy, it also helps us to reduce our stress levels, gives us a chance to stretch, socialize, walk around and decrease the chances of joint pain, back pain, or even weight gain. 10
The people
We wanted to make this about people, so they were our main focus. What are the causes of stress? What do they need the most? A collections of unfortunate events

Food and mood
Can your diet really help put you in a good mood? There are many explanations for the cause and effect relationship between food and mood. The following are some examples: Changes in blood sugar levels are associated with changes in mood and FUN energy, and are affected by what we eat. Brain chemicals influence the way we think, feel and behave. They can be affected by what we’ve eaten. There can be abnormal reactions to artificial chemicals in foods, such as For people who are bored and need some distraction with work. artificial colourings and flavourings. Further development of this concept is needed and could lead to an improved overall experience + Strong identity. + Innovative approach. + People centric, not foodcentric - Needs work on manufacturing techniques. - The menu options need consolidating. - More work on the packaging.

How it works
The big OLED panels that function as screen and shopping window display an avatar for each person that passes. The screen also lets you catch a glympe of the people preaparing your meal. When one person stops, its avatar starts interacting with him.

It can provide the link to the app, and give various kind of information.
It can also let the users explore the various menus and its benefits.

A transparent OLED display is composed of several superimposed layers: on a first transparent layer, which has protective functions, is deposited a transparent conductive layer that acts as an anode; 3 organic layers are then added. Finally, a reflective layer is deposited which acts as cathode. The total thickness, without considering the transparent layer, is about 300 nanometers.
Screen inclination It allows better visibility to those who must interface with the screen.
The Kinect sensor is able to record the movements of the body in three different dimensions and process them in real time, then the sensor will transform the data received in the movements of our avatar.
Holes for aromas The holes in the screen allow the customers to smell the aromas in the kitchen. 37
