Changing Europe: From People to Newspaper
Editorial
Session or a conference? Journalist or Media Team Member? Editor orMedia Output Manager? During the years, the media aspect in EYP has evolved so much that we now have different terms for one position, different philosophies about what each position entails, and most importantly, different views on why Media in EYP exists in its current form. Views on the role and existence of EYP Media differentiatefrom person to person. A common one is the idea that EYP Media is the “cherry on top of the cake”. Another is that it represents one of the few essentialities that a session must have in order to be a success. Throughout its years of continuous evolution, EYP Media has evolved from a structure with visible hierarchy, to a structure where Media Team Members are on the same page with other officials. How did that happen? It happened as a result of small things; by renaming the positions and opening the into the work of other officials for Media Team Members. Therefore, for us, the Editors, this session symbolises another step we have to take in order to make such changes. That being said, we hope that you will recognise and find yourself in these words, and that a part of you is attending this event because of a strong desire to make big things happen. Dear reader, remember one thing, EYP might not change the world, but it will most certainly change you. Milica Simeunović&Stefan Hadžović

How to be Greek 101
Talk loud anywhere, anytime. Gossip with everyone you know about anyone you know. Be friends with anyone you just met. Know every person near your house and have a friendly relationship with them. Hug someone, if you haven’t seen him for a certain amount of time. Be extremely polite to your visitors and provide them with whatever they need and what they might need and what they might think of needing. Never pay a visit empty handed. Eat souvlaki at least once a week. Go out to drink Frappe (coffee) with your friends for at least 3-4 hours Begin swimming at April and stop at October. Take twice or more something that is free. 3
If you are at a wedding, make sure to break some dishes while people are in Kefi (propensity to fun) and dancing. If you’re male, you are a soccer fanatic and you probably deem yourself qualified to give advice to the coach of the team that you support. It would be unthinkable for you not to support one of the major Greek teams. You go to church every Sunday. You take it for granted that Greek cuisine is the best. You are not a farmer, but there’s a high chance that your grandfathers were. If you’re talking to someone, you can’t feel comfortable if they stand more than 50 cm away. You expect to bargain for houses, cars, antiques, and most items sold at open-air markets. Turkish coffee is turkish; but you probably prefer to call it Greek coffee. You drink tons of coffee, especially frappe. On television, films are usually subtitled. In movie theaters, they are also subtitled. Latin-American soap-operas are dubbed though.
