Who Gives the Biggest Sign-on Bonus: Army, Navy, Marines or Air Force? Sign-on bonuses are an incentive for new recruits to fill valuable positions in the military. The amount of these bonuses differs depending on a number of factors, including which branch of the military you apply to, the career you choose, and for how long you enlist. Bonuses can also fluctuate depending on what the military needs at the moment. If the Army has a shortage of parachute riggers, for example, it may increase the sign-on bonus attached to that job until it has enough applicants to meet the demand. Check with your local recruiters for the most up-to-date facts and figures.
The Army The Army offers a plethora of enlistment bonuses, not only for choosing certain jobs but also for bringing qualities to the table such as being bilingual, holding a college degree, and holding a certification in select fields. These bonuses can be combined for a maximum of $40,000, says Military. com. At the time of writing, the Army offers up to $15,000 for 23 different careers, up to $8,000 for having a college degree, and up to $10,000 for being proficient in certain civilian skills such as X-ray technology. In addition, agreeing to certain types of training, such as warrant officer flight training and officer candidate school, can earn you $10,000.
The Navy Like the Army, the Navy also rewards enlistees for things like having a college education and scoring well on the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB). Bonuses can be combined for a maximum of $30,000 unless you’re signing up for Navy SEALS or nuclear training, in which case your bonuses can total $40,000.
Additionally, the Navy allows you to combine your bonuses with either a student loan repayment plan up to $65,000 or the Navy college fund, worth up to $72,700. You may choose one, but not both. The Navy college fund acts as a top-up to the Montgomery G.I. Bill by adding as much as $950 a month to your educational benefits.
The Air Force To date, the Air Force offers enlistment bonuses of up to $10,000 for the following positions: airborne or land-based linguist, combat control, pararescue, explosive ordnance disposal, and survival evasion rescue evacuation. Those entering tactical air command and control can earn as much as $6,000. The Air Force also has a student loan repayment plan, says Military.com, that can help a recruit pay off as much as $10,000 of his college debt.
to $8,000, says the official Marine Corps website. Recruits are also eligible for a $1,000 shipping bonus during deployment. The Corps also offers educational benefits beyond the regular Montgomery G.I. Bill, including the Special Education Program, wherein recruits can have tuition paid for if they choose an education that supports the field specialty they work in, and the Advanced Degree Program that allows officers to take up to 18 months off with full pay in order to attend graduate school. Officers must pay for their own tuition but the G.I. Bill will generally pay all other expenses.
The Marines The Marine Corps currently offers sign-on incentives for several occupations, ranging from $2,000

Complete Overhaul Connie Chung
John Chancelor
It seems today from watching television that the major and minor news networks like NBC, CBS, ABC, CNN, MSNBC and even PBS all they do is present a lopsided view of today’s news. A few years ago we received a fair assessment of what’s going on in today’s world but not anymore. These television networks are no longer presenting journalism but opinions. All of them seem like they’re controlled by a political agenda and they no longer have any credibility. We used to be able to count on our newscasters like Chet Huntley, David Brinkley, John Chancellor, Howard K Smith, Connie Chung, Barbara Walters and the most trusted and revered of all Walter Cronkite.
is watching the violence shown by networks favoring the conservative viewpoints. Fox TV and One News shows you every day the horrendous rioting, looting and burning down local businesses, police stations, police vehicles and courthouses. The protesters throwing bricks, bottles of gas ,stones and debris at the police officers .
As I said we no longer get news we get opinions. We are made to believe that the video-casts we are watching are factual but in truth a lot of them are doctored to favor the narrative of the network or newscaster. So instead of watching the complete videocast we’re only shown portions that change the meaning or truthfulness of what we are watching. One of the examples that is most noted
Also destructive graffiti and ripping down historical statues and monuments is not just criminal but a way that the violent left tries to erase the history of America. And worst of all the punching, knocking down and then kicking in the face of innocent citizens because their white ! The major networks show us very little coverage or nothing at all of these criminal acts and referred to them as
walter cronkite “ law abiding protests “ . The needless killing of George Floyd is unforgivable and every person that I’ve talked to feels the same way. The white officer and officers must be held accountable for this ruthless murder. Anyone regardless of their profession, that takes a life must be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Any law enforcement agent
I want to make this point … just as horrendous as George Floyd’s killing was … a black man( who was a neighbor and friend ) last week shot and killed a 5 year old boy for riding a bike on his lawn. But before we ( Rush to Judgment ) we must find out the mental state of this man and in no way can we assume that all men of color are guilty of shooting little boys in their heads. as we can not assume that all law enforcement agents are like those men that killed George Floyd. I cannot understand why people of all colors cannot judge each person as an individual. If that person is of good character then why must we judge him or her at all . We all have the right to like or dislike any person we meet, but it should be judged by the persons character and not by the color of his or her skin. In closing we all know that Americans are not perfect but I think Americans
A few years ago we received a fair assessment of what’s going on in today’s world but not anymore. These television networks are no longer presenting journalism but opinions. that harms or kills anyone ( no matter their color ) without justification must face the same justice that anyone of us would. There is another equation to the problems that we face today, it seems today that a ( Rush to Judgment ) is creating unnecessary violence that could be prevented if given time to presume either the guilt

GAMBLING / MILITARY ADDICTION
lead to depression, mental health issues, substance use disorder, and even suicide, and it’s important to understand the root of the causes of addiction amongst our armed service members so as to better address the problem at hand.
Why is Gambling Addiction Prevalent in the Military? Military service members are vulnerable to problem gambling largely due to the many readily accessible gambling opportunities at hand. It’s estimated that over 36,000 active-duty members have gambling problems. These rates are significantly higher than the general population and can lead to higher rates of bankruptcy, domestic violence, and co-occurring substance abuse and mental health disorders. Nearly 3,000 slot machines are available to members of the Armed Forces and their families at military installations overseas, generating up to $100 million in profits, none of which are dedicated to programs designed to prevent or treat gambling addiction.
This is something that should be discussed. The rate of gambling problems among veterans and active-duty military personnel are glaringly high. Statistics point to the rate of pathological gambling amongst military personnel as nearly a quarter of all armed service members and their domestic partners.
Facets of military culture glorify gambling while stigmatizing behavior health treatment to curb addictions. Boredom, loneliness, location, lack of money, lots of time to pass with limited access to entertainment along with the thrill of the possibility of winning big all contribute to problem gambling in the military community. A report from the National Council on
Gambling addiction is a treatable disease but is a very real problem in our society, one that has affected the military community in a destructive way. The stresses of deployment along with the unique culture of the military can

What is Being Done to Curb this Problem? A bipartisan group of lawmakers is pushing for screening for gambling problems among activeduty troops. If approved, Defense Department officials would have the power to update regulations and guidance to explicitly include gambling disorders and develop new assistance programs.
Problem Gambling suggests that the military does not actively encourage gambling, but it does influence it to a certain extent due to the high-stress levels and urge for members to turn to a release (whether it be gambling, drugs, alcohol, or another destructive escape mechanism). Nearly 40% of those sampled in the report admitted to having gambled on a military base, while over 10% said they did so over 10 times. 27% cited having a family member with a gambling problem and 47% reported having a friend with the same issue. Nearly 20% had filed for bankruptcy with 40% of those filings attributed to gambling problems. Difficulty readjusting to civilian life and post-traumatic stress disorder are two commonly cited reasons for veterans using gambling as a coping mechanism. Finding work in uncertain economical times and flashbacks of time serving can result in serious addictions of any kind.
Currently, the military does not provide annual screenings and has no way to indicate susceptibility to gambling problems as it does for other disorders involving addiction. The lawmakers are framing this as a national security issue, as troops and veterans with excessive gambling debts could face difficulties obtaining security clearances due to fears about their financial situation leaving them more susceptible to blackmail.
What Help is Available? Problem gambling can have serious effects on active members of the military and can damage their career and harm their on-duty focus. It can lead to a loss of productivity, rank, or even discharge. Realize that you can make a change and keep a list of the activities that you enjoy doing instead of gambling Spend quality time with supportive people in your life who do not gamble You may want to talk to your family and friends about what you are going through. If you know that you need to stop gambling but yet haven’t discovered the tools to deal with the process, we are here to help you begin the journey. We’ll stand beside you every step of the way. THE DIRTY BIRD A woman was thinking about finding a pet to help keep her company at home. She decided she would like to find a beautiful parrot; it wouldn’t be as much work as say a dog, and it would be fun to hear it speak. She went to a pet shop and immediately spotted a large beautiful parrot. She went to the owner of the store and asked how much. The owner said it was $50. Delighted that such a rare looking and beautiful bird wasn’t more expensive, she agreed to buy it. The owner looked at her and said, “Look, I should tell you first that this bird used to live in a house of ill repute. Sometimes it says pretty off color stuff.”
The woman thought about this, but decided she had to have the bird. She said she would buy it anyway. The pet shop owner sold her the bird and she took it home. She hung the bird’s cage up in her living room and waited for it to say something. The bird looked around the room, then at her, and said, “New house, new madam.” The woman was a bit shocked at the implication, but then thought that’s not so bad.” A couple hours later, the woman’s two teenage daughters returned from school. When they inspected the bird, it looked at them and said, “New house, new madam, new prostitutes.” The girls and the woman were a bit offended at first, but than began to laugh about the situation. A couple of hours later, the woman’s husband came home from work. The bird looked at him and said, “New house, new madam, new prostitutes; same old faces. Hi George!”
LOGIC, NEW YORK STYLE There was a man, who everyday went past this hot dog stand. As he walked by, he would leave 50 cents on the stand. Well, the old lady who owned it never asked the man why he never took a hot dog, since he kept paying for them. Then one day after he put his money on the stand, the lady said “HEY SIR”. “I know what your going to say”, said the man. “You want to knowwhy I keep putting 50 cents down and not taking a hot dog.” “No”, said the old lady, “I just wanted you to know that they went up to 75 cents”.

NIGHT BEFORE WEDDING A rich 40 year-old American woman decided to get married, but she wanted her husband to be a virgin and to never had been with a woman all of his life. After some years of pointless searching, she didn’t found anyone with this description and forced to give an ad to the paper. A month later, she met with an Australian man who had never been with a woman before in his life and she married him immediately. On the first night of their wedding and before they lay down, she went for a quick fresh up and then went back to the bedroom, happy. When she entered the room she stood steal... She saw her husband naked to the center of the room and all the furniture on the corner of the room. “But.. What happened?” asked the woman obviously shocked. “Look.. I’ve never been with a woman, but if it’s the same as with the kangaroo, then I’ll need the whole room to catch you!”
A BLONDE A blonde, wanting to earn some money, decided to hire herself out as a handyman-type and started canvassing a wealthy neighborhood. She went to the front door of the first house and asked the owner if he had any jobs for her to do. “Well, you can paint my porch. How much will you charge?” The blonde said “How about 50 dollars?” The man agreed and told her that the paint and other materials that she might need were in the garage. The man’s wife, inside the house, heard the conversation and said to her husband, “Does she realize that the porch goes all the way around the house?” The man replied, “She should, she was standing on it.” A short time later, the blonde came to the door to collect her money. “You’re finished already?” he asked. “Yes,” the blonde answered, “and I had paint left over, so I gave it two coats.” Impressed, the man reached in his pocket for the $50. “And by the way,” the blonde a dded, “it’s not a Porch, it’s a Ferrari.”
