Julie Lea began painting when she was 5 and never stopped. She attended Florida State and the University of California, Berkeley. Divorced and essentially a single mum, she ran the sales and rentals at the Corcoran Gallery of Art in Washington, DC. Julie then met and married her second husband Douglas Lea, who was working for TIME Magazine. Nine months later, her second baby boy came along, Zachary James Lea. The family sailed into Bequia in 1975, fell in love with the place and began visiting every winter. Disaster struck in 1994 when Zachary, a unique and brilliant young man, was killed a block from their house by a drunk driver at the age of 23.
She and Doug sold their Virginia house and bought their unique, 50-year-old Bequia home in Spring. Julie continues to paint Bequia scenes, skies, people, flora and fauna, in acrylics and watercolours. She teaches art to beginning adults and Bequia school children.

Alston Becket Cyrus: A National Treasure
Alston BECKET Cyrus, is known to many Vincentians here and abroad as well as the wider Caribbean as “the ABC of Calypso”. The stellar career of this prolific song writer and charismatic performer spans nearly fifty years.
Widely regarded as a man of honour and honesty, Becket is both humble and grounded in his community. He often says,
“Talent is wonderful, a blessing; but it requires discipline to become successful.”
was absent from his life, his uncles formed father figures and it was through them that he developed an interest in music. He began playing steelpan and later learned to play the guitar which he uses to do most of his compositions.
“I tell young people, if you’re going to get into music learn to play an instrument, learn to read music.”
He started in the teaching profession as a teenager and that grounding remains in his music –it teaches while it entertains.
Becket moved to the United States of America three months before his twentieth birthday. He was required to do several jobs to get by so music had to take a back seat. After he joined the US Army, he was able to get back to the love of his life, music, and in particular, Calypso. Becket performed in the successful US Soldier’s Tour-Hawaii 1972-1974. In his first big hit he chronicles his return to music: “Alston a GI in Hawaii / Ah had to teach them / Carnival History”.
His character is reflected in the choice of his stage-name, Becket. Cyrus saw a movie about Thomas Becket, Henry II’s Archbishop of Canterbury in England in the 12th century, and was impressed by him standing up for what he believed in. Cyrus said, ‘Thomas Becket was a man of principle - right over wrong’. Identifying with this, he chose Becket as his stage name.
Born in the seaside town of Layou on the Leeward side of St. Vincent, the young Becket grew up with music all around him. Although his father
ALSTON BECKET CYRUS
Following an honourable discharge from the Army in 1975, his career in music began. He performed in New York with veteran Vincentian Calypsonian Lord Hawke who was impressed and invited Becket to return home and join his Calypso tent in St Vincent. He entered the local Calypso competition and won – taking the country by storm with songs such as ‘Carnival History’ and ‘Mas’ at Victoria’. His early performances and touring were with Asterisks, a local band, from his hometown Layou. He quickly went on to record his first album, ‘Raw Calypso’, in Trinidad and Tobago.
In 1977 he had further success with the hit song ‘Coming High’, followed by equally successful singles like ‘Wine Down Kingstown’ (1978), ‘Teaser’ and ‘Gal Ah Rush Me’ (1990) and ‘Small Pin’ (1999). In 1991 he received the Record of the Year and Best
18
Party Tune awards at the first ever Caribbean Music Awards, held at the Apollo Theatre in New York City. In 1994 ‘Ella Me Vacila’ (the Spanish version of ‘Teaser’) earned him a BMI Latin Award and a Billboard/Univision Award for the Salsa/Tropical Song of the Year. Cover versions of this song have been done in several other languages. During Trinidad’s Carnival 2000, smash hits ‘Small Pin’ and ‘Doh Eat and Lie Down’ took over the Caribbean airwaves.
Becket not only composed party songs, he also wrote several songs themed around world events and Caribbean and Carnival politics – ‘Love Is The Answer’ was also remade around 9/11, ‘Carnival History’ which earned him the Calypso King of St. Vincent & the Grenadines in 1975 and a host of others: ‘Human Rights’, ‘I Am An African’, ‘Hezekiah’, ‘Mama’, ‘Oppression’, ‘Say No To Drugs’, ‘Laramania’, ‘Rights’, ‘Bring Back Moses Law’ and ‘Don’t Look Down On Ah Man’. In 2009, Becket’s ‘President Obama’ tribute song attracted the attention of Obama himself. Becket’s many albums and numerous award-winning singles span almost 50 years and he is still creating new works.
He has also created one movie soundtrack - ‘Calypso Disco’ in “The Deep”, had five compositions featured in four American TV programmes, and has been awarded with eight Carnival Road March titles. Becket has become one of the elders of Calypso and is respected all over the world. He has performed throughout the Caribbean, Canada, Spain, England, Colombia and the United States in large and small venues, festivals and concerts alike.
In 2000 Becket made history by becoming the first Caribbean artiste invited to perform at the US Open. He says that that occasion along with his appearances at the inaugural Caribbean Music Awards, Apollo Theatre in New York in 1991 and another performance he did in Colombia were the most memorable highlights of his career.
He was listed as one of the 17 Outstanding Caribbean Personalities of the 20th Century’. In 2001, he was appointed as the Goodwill Ambassador for St. Vincent & the Grenadines.
This prolific composer and Caribbean music icon continues to be a source of inspiration for all, especially future calypso/soca singers and musicians. His CD, ‘Pussy Cat Party’, was added to iTunes music store, making Becket the first calypso/ soca artiste to be featured on Apple computer’s world-famous iPod and the iTunes music jukebox software.
He humbly acknowledges that there are many people, past and present, without whom he could not have achieved any of this.
No musical mention of Becket is complete without calling the name Frankie McIntosh, who was Becket’s musical arranger almost from the beginning. To tell the musical story of Becket requires telling the story of Frankie – their stories and success are intertwined. In 2000, Frankie was the first Vincentian musician to be awarded an Honourary Doctorate by the University of the West Indies. Two years later Becket received his own nomination when UWI conferred on him a Doctorate of Letters. Together this likeminded and spirited dynamic duo form a magical combination that lifts Vincy music to super special heights.
Music and songs are an integral part of a people’s intangible cultural heritage. The songs of Alston BECKET Cyrus do a wonderful job of capturing many of the sayings, practices, traditions and other intangible Vincy cultural identity markers; as well as immortalising people who are part of Vincentian history. His music also serves as a record of Vincentian rhythms. Becket’s work is, and continues to be, a valuable resource in the preservation and promotion of the intangible cultural heritage of St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

Growing Optimism in St. Vincent
By Barbara Eardley ABR, CRS, GRI
The tourism sector has been experiencing a boost with a very large increase in the number of cruise ship visits and the new international airport securing scheduled flights from North America and Europe. Several new hotel projects are well on their way.The Mayah Luxury Suites Hotel in Diamond, owned and managed by McDowall Investments, is scheduled to open later this year. Construction on a Holiday Inn in Diamond is also well underway. The Royal Sugar Mill, a luxury hotel project in Ratho Mill, is due to come on stream within the

next year. Not to be outdone, the leeward side of the island will be seeing the opening of Sandals for the 2023/2024 tourist season. This year welcomed the opening of the Coconut Grove Beach Club, securing its spot as a social hub with great food and friendly service for a fun lime, offering so much to enjoy and so much to look forward to.
The growing optimism on the island can be seen in a multitude of areas. From the significant number of private homes under construction to the return of Carnival celebrations, St. Vincent holds the promise of thriving once again.
Kingstown is getting its own facelift with a government clean-up and relocation of street vendors to the new indoor fruit and vegetable market. Medical students are back and the demand for private short and long-term residential accommodations is on the rise. With Covid having brought a renewed focus on individual lifestyles, there are more members of the Vincentian diaspora in the UK and North America that have decided to purchase a second property or vacation home in St. Vincent. Non-Vincentians are also seeking to fulfill their dream of a home in the sun. A limited number of rental properties, combined with the relative high demand for modern contemporary style properties, presents ideal investment opportunities for those with foresight.
In 2016, despite not being Vincentians, my husband and I decided to invest in SVG with the opening of a RE/MAX real estate brokerage. We provide a link to professional practices that are familiar to those with experience in the North
American real estate market, which our foreign buyers and investors find reassuring. Indeed, individuals from the diaspora and resident Vincentians also express appreciation for the high standards of business demanded by the RE/MAX brand. We have been humbled by the positive reception to our brokerage service and felt fortunate throughout this year to enjoy a growing sales team and healthy increase in sales volume.
After building a book of business for over 40 years in
real estate in the United States, we are excited to be part of the growth and development of this beautiful Caribbean nation. We feel lucky to be enjoying our profession in paradise, and our commitment to SVG was cemented with the attainment of our Vincentian citizenship this year. Both the physical beauty of the many islands and the warmth and caring of Vincentians made our decision to stay an easy one. The universal Vincentian greeting of “You Good?” comes to mind. “Ya man, we good!”

GROWING OPTIMISM IN ST. VINCENT
Kelly Glass
While there is ample evidence to support the popular adage that ‘success breeds success’, nobody should ever overlook the key characteristics that make any entrepreneur successful in the first place. Notably vision, creative thinking, risk taking, motivation, resilience, passion, and good oldfashioned hard work - the kind of adjectives that neatly sum up the personality of Vincentian serial entrepreneur Kelly Glass.
As a young man, New Zealand born Kelly gained invaluable life experience while travelling around the world as a professional rugby player and later working as an Electrical Engineer in diverse countries ranging from Australia to Libya. It was only when he arrived in St Vincent in 1985 to take up a post at the Cumberland Hydroelectric Project that his wanderlust finally came to a halt. Smitten by the island’s charm and natural beauty - and yes, a Caribbean lady - Kelly planted his roots in St Vincent and set about turning the country’s obvious untapped potential into actual business opportunities.
In a remarkable career spanning four decades, Kelly Glass has racked up a long list of outstanding business success stories throughout the Caribbean
By Keith Miller
and beyond, predominantly in the infrastructural development sectors of telecommunications, construction, marine facilities, energy, and hospitality. Along the way, while working alongside leading international entities on an array of projects, he has been awarded prestigious accolades such as the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year for Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean. Thanks to his innate ability to predict future trends, with the provision of cable TV via fiber-optic cable being a good example, Kelly has been able to successfully launch and develop companies, then on-sell them to competing giants in multi-million-dollar deals. Today, having accumulated significant resources over the years, Kelly Glass is ideally positioned to carry out a broad range of major work that will greatly benefit the Caribbean region in general, and St Vincent & the Grenadines in particular. Under the auspices of his umbrella company, K-Group, Kelly is currently overseeing multiple projects ranging from multi-million dollar investments in the production of medicinal cannabis to boatbuilding, to constructing ports, roads and bridges, as well as opening new hotels and developing marinas to service the yachting industry.

In Kelly’s own words:
I think that SVG is heading in the right direction as a high-end destination. In addition to the new Sandals on the mainland and well-known names like Canouan’s Mandarin Oriental, SOHO House and Sandy Lane Marina, Mustique, Palm Island Resort, Petit St. Vincent, and so on, we also have several smaller but very classy hotels and restaurants that give top service and attract high quality visitors.
Our group alone is successfully running several properties throughout the region. In St Vincent we have the Blue Lagoon Marina and Hotel, where we opened The Loft Restaurant, plus the Coconut Grove Beach Club. On Bequia, our operations include The Liming, a boutique luxury hotel and restaurant in Paget Farm; as well as the Bequia Plantation Hotel.
And what I find to be really exciting is the enormous potential for the future of the west coast of St. Vincent, which is one of the most picturesque stretches of coastline in the Caribbean. There are lots of attractive features like coastal waterfalls,
inlets and tunnels, plus numerous sheltered bays that would make ideal locations for marine facilities. For a start, I’d love to see a new dock built at the Falls of Baleine, along with the restoration of the original ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ site at Wallibou.
I also see similarly promising opportunities on the horizon for Mayreau, one of the prettiest islands in the Grenadines. Over the last 30 years, I’ve bought in excess of 100 acres there and set up an SPV (Special Services Vehicle) to facilitate the start of Phase 2 of the project; for which we are preparing the infrastructure work on a stunning 78-acre block overlooking the Tobago Cays, with arguably the best views in the Caribbean - just 10 minutes from Canouan’s jet airport and right in the absolute heart of the Southern Grenadines.
With 32 islands located within a very manageable 32-mile stretch, a beautiful natural environment and a rich maritime history, the Grenadines has incredible potential to be further developed as a world-class sailing destination. Consider the fact that when a marina offers 150 berths, with each

yacht having four cabins, that is the equivalent of a floating 600-room hotel with a fast turnover. The money spent in this sector has huge trickle down to the wider economy - agricultural products, bakeries, supermarkets, liquor stores, bars, restaurants, and numerous other small businesses and service providers - so any growth would be good for Vincentians and visitors alike.
We already have planning permission to expand our Blue Lagoon Marina to 150 berths and work will start on that soon. I also have plans to build a new marina on Bequia, at Admiralty Bay Harbour. And, as we also own and manage Clarke’s Court Boatyard and Marina, the largest marina in Grenada, we have learned from first-hand experience how to do this job well. Part of my vision is to have a revitalized Bequia Regatta, followed by a Grenadines Sailing Week.
One of our most recent ventures is to launch a boat-building business. To get started we are using the Dominican Republic as a training ground for the operation, with the intention of bringing it to St Vincent, possibly to the likes of Ottley Hall or by building our own facility on the Leeward side of the island. There is an increasing demand for day-charter vessels and, with us currently working on our second 70ft catamaran, we are getting a lot of enquiries and orders. I have no doubt that the final approvals we need from the Government of St Vincent will be forthcoming and, as soon as the local infrastructure is in place, we will relocate. Without doubt, that would bring new job and skillset training opportunities to our shores.
I have never hesitated to invest and re-invest in SVG because we have a good governance record, reliable utility services, and an ever-improving infrastructure. And now that the long awaited and
much needed new Argyle International Airport has been opened – with connections to the UK, USA, Canada and the Caribbean – I can see an even brighter economic future.
Throughout my journey I have been supported all the way by incredibly talented people, many of them much smarter than me. It’s no exaggeration to say that without our team, the business would not be where it is today. First and foremost, I owe a huge thank you to my family Jankie and Tessa, who have been involved in the business for many years and play key roles today. Other long-serving stalwarts include Ram Ramgoolan, our contracts manager, CFO Melissa Wright, Andrew Arrindell and his IT team, and Conor Holmes in the marine side of the group. Plus other loyal, hardworking employees like Reds Husskinsson and ‘Buttercup’ Me Kiel, the best heavy machine operator in SVG. Moving forward, we have just engaged John Mangos as CEO to carry the company though to the next generation with Tessa. And last but definitely not least, I want to give credit to Michael Brackin, my trusty #2 man on my boats and plane, who also looks after our property management.
Outside of the company, I also owe a debt of gratitude to Sir Charles Antrobus, our ex-Governor General - and at the time the only West Indian GM of Cable and Wireless in the Caribbean - who had great faith in my start-up company. He was a huge help in our group expanding throughout the region as a communications contractor.
Overall SVG has been good for me, and I’d like to think that I’ve been good for SVG. For sure, I have worked hard to make a worthwhile contribution to the ongoing development of my adopted homeland. And, happily, I have no intention of stopping just yet.”

Medicinal A Major Investment Poised for Growth
In 2019 Medicinal made headlines as one of the first companies to acquire a license to operate a medicinal cannabis enterprise in St. Vincent and the Grenadines. Planting their first seeds on May 15th, 2020, the highly-qualified team began mastering the precise farming practices demanded by the growing conditions of SVG. Investor Kelly Glass points out, it might be referred to as “weed”, and we think of weeds as easy to grow, but this couldn’t be further from the truth. There is an absolute science to produce export-grade, seedless, high THC potency cannabis.
Medicinal is a complete vertically integrated seed-to-sale company. Starting from seedlings, through growth, harvest, drying, extraction, purification, and formulation, they retain the essential control needed for every step of the supply chain.
The impressive Medicinal home farm has three Caribbean-designed greenhouses which provide optimal and carefully controlled conditions for each stage of the plants’ growth – with security, climate, and irrigation all covered. Once the plants are ready to flower, they are transferred to the fields for the final stage of their life. In addition to the Medicinal farm, the company works with several local farmers, sharing their expertise, along with the economic benefits of medicinal cannabis production with traditional cannabis growers in St. Vincent.
After a few weeks in the fertile volcanic Vincentian soil with reliable Caribbean sunshine, the plants are harvested and transferred to a drying facility, and then sent for extraction and the formulation of products at Medicinal’s state-of-the-art lab and processing facility located in Spring. Here they produce a range of consumer products including lotions, oils, tinctures, vapes and edibles, along with oils and extracts for the pharmaceutical industry.
26 MEDICINAL: A MAJOR INVESTMENT POISED FOR GROWTH
Everything has been meticulously designed to ensure the highest manufacturing standards are met. Obtaining the Good Agricultural and Collection Practices (GACP) Accreditation was one of the critical milestones, ensuring the business’ success. Medicinal worked closely with the Vincentian Government, from the PM down, and with SVG’s Medicinal Cannabis Authority (MCA). At the company’s request, the MCA performed a series of audits at the farm and drying facility. Working closely with the MCA inspectorate team has proven to be mutually beneficial as an invaluable process of knowledge exchange. After almost a year of audits, including one on behalf of their German partner, Medicinal obtained a GACP compliance accreditation enabling them to export medicinal cannabis to Germany.
Since June 2021, Medicinal formulated products have been available in SVG dispensaries, allowing patients to access a safe and consistent supply of medicinal cannabis products. These must be bought in pharmacies that carry a dispensary license from the MCA. They are all prescription-based products, prescribed by a doctor who must also hold a special license from the MCA. Medicinal THCbased products are available at Greenhouse Café at Coconut Grove Beach Club, Imperial Pharmacy (Bequia), Downtown Pharmacy (Kingstown), Corea’s City Store Pharmacy (Kingstown) and Corea’s Pharmacy (Arnos Vale).
Now in its fourth year of operation, Medicinal provides more than 40 permanent jobs at their farm in Enhams and the processing facilities in Ottley Hall and Spring. They also create indirect employment through their partnerships with local farmers. After months of trial and error, hard work, perseverance, and eye-popping investment, Medicinal began legally exporting medicinal cannabis in February 2022. That first shipment, with 50kg of cannabis bound for Germany via Canada, was also a first for St. Vincent and the Grenadines. And these shipments continue as Medicinal strives to increase their production and export volume while maintaining the high quality they have achieved.
As Kelly says, “Don’t be fooled, it’s not a walk in the park getting a cannabis seed-to-sale industry off the ground.” But he expresses his gratefulness to all the people and government entities who have worked extremely hard to get them to this point. Especially his partner in the venture, Barry Ferdinand, a UK-based SVG national and friend, who up to now shares his financial pain, and his optimism, to help get Medicinal to where it is today.

Chartering
Tobago Cays kitesurfgrenadines.com
What’s the buzz
on the chartering scene
Comprising some 32 islands and smaller cays, stretching 32 miles from St. Vincent in the north to Petit St. Vincent in the south, the Grenadines have long been home to a rich tradition of seafaring. To this day, sailing remains an integral part of everyday life for most islanders. As such, this special part of the world is tailor-made for safe but adventurous cruising all yearround. Each island is different, offering its own unique character and attractions, and sufficiently close to each other that you can usually see your next destination as you make your way from point to point during daylight hours. The diversity of the various islands automatically provides a wide variety of scenic beauty, natural anchorages and commercial moorings. There is an excellent supply of farm fresh fruit and vegetables, delicious local bread and of course plenty of good fish and seafood. You can also order beautiful exotic flowers to brighten your cabins.
There are a number of reputable yacht charter companies operating out of St. Vincent and the Grenadines. These companies generally offer starts in St. Vincent, Bequia, Canouan or Union Island. Sailing out of any one of these locations puts you immediately on the doorstep of the Grenadines without the 65-mile sail (including a 5-hour open-water passage) from St. Lucia, or the 6 to 7-hour sail (often against the wind) from Grenada.
The yacht charter industry has recently benefited from the completion of the Sandy Lane Yacht Club and Residences – a sophisticated and beautifully equipped full-service yacht marina in Canouan. Looking forward, the K-Group has got planning permission to substantially upgrade the Blue Lagoon Hotel and Marina facility in St. Vincent adding 150 more berths.
If you are a land-based holiday maker, you can still enjoy a day
out on the water exploring the surrounding islands. The historic Bequia-built sailing schooner, Friendship Rose, operates day charters to the Tobago Cays, St. Vincent and Mustique. Also based in Bequia during the winter months (Dec-Apr) is the beautiful, classic sailing schooner yacht, Heron. Built by her captain, Nigel ‘Twig’ Bower, she has sailed over 100,000 nautical miles since her launch in 2003 and carried more than 35,000 guests. She was featured in the movie, ‘The Rum Diary,’ starring Johnny Depp. Sail Grenadines also offers bareboat, skippered and all-inclusive yacht charters. Island Time, a 2010 Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 42i, is available for day trips and luxury overnight cruises to the Tobago Cays and the beautiful Grenadine islands with optional on-board catering.
In the Southern Grenadines operating out of Union Island, Wind and Sea, Scaramouche and Yannis all offer memorable day trips.

St. Vincent and the Grenadines has always touted its fabulous sailing, snorkeling and day-chartering, but it is not widely known for its spectacular diving. Throughout the island chain you can snorkel through a “bat cave,” dive over geo-thermal vents, or take a night dive on a wreck with hundreds of lobsters. Visitors often feel so at home that they return year after year, and divers return to see rare seahorses, pipefish and frogfish.

Layou Petroglyph Park
A cultural landmark with an indigenous petroglyph, the Rutland River and a forested trail. The site is pre-Columbian in origin, of unknown age. The Layou petroglyph most likely dates to between AD300 and AD600.
Vermont Nature Trail
This trail starts in Buccament Valley and leads through tropical rainforest. There is a chance of seeing (or hearing) the St. Vincent Parrot and the Whistling Warbler, both unique to St. Vincent and strictly protected. This is also the habitat for the House Wren, the common Black Hawk, Cocoa Thrush, the Crested Hummingbird, Redcapped Green Tanager and Green Heron to name a few.
Cumberland Nature Trail
This nature trail passes through the Cumberland Valley, traversing a variety of forest vegetation and farmlands. Its biggest attractions are the rainforest and the opportunity for bird and other wildlife watching.

Black Point Park
Black Point Park is home to the unique Jasper Tunnel. This tunnel is over 300 feet long and links Grand Sable with Byera Bay. The tunnel was ordered built by the British and constructed by slave labour around 1815 to provide an access route and storage for sugar exports. The black sand beach and picnic area is thickly vegetated with coconut trees and is one of the most popular recreational sites on the island.
La Soufrière Volcano
La Soufrière is a stratovolcano with recorded eruptions dating back to 1718, with notable eruptions occurring in 1812, 1902, 1979 and the most recent in 2020. There was no loss of life but residents north of the Rabacca River lost their homes and have been relocated to Orange Hill Estate. Hundreds of houses have been built, as well as two bridges, funded by several entities.
The surrounding farms and forests have recovered very quickly. In some areas you wouldn't know there had been an eruption. A National Park, the volcano is restricted by government not because the volcano is still active – it is currently at the lowest volcanic danger level – but because it is very slippery close to the crater and it is also very easy to get lost in this area. Hikes are at your own risk and guides are a must.
Belmont Lookout & Montreal Gardens
This lookout provides visitors with the opportunity to view one of St. Vincent’s most productive and picturesque landscapes. There is a viewing platform, washrooms and interpretive signage. Just north of Mesopotamia are the Montreal Gardens which are a wonderful place to see an amazing array of tropical blooms.
La Soufrière Volcano Trail
Rising majestically to over 4,000 feet, the 5-6 hour hike starts at 1,200 feet above sea level on the windward side and takes you to about 3,300 feet at the crater. The ascent is about 3.5 miles long and takes about 2 1/2 hours. It starts with a 1/2 hour segment to 'river bed'. Then a pretty tough 45 minutes through a humid, forested trail to 'bench' where there is in fact no bench but this is
a much needed rest stop. Next up is a 1/2 hour trek to Jacob's Well which begins to feel cool with the wind on your back. By now you have climed 1,300 feet. The final 45 minute climb to the top is cooler still and your destination is in sight. This is a day’s journey for energetic hikers, who should leave early in the morning. Hiking the La Soufrière Volcano trail is at your own risk and definitely must be done with a guide - see page 40.

St. Vincent Distillers
Created by skilled craftsmen, these fine spirits, whose roots originated in the sugar cane regions of St. Vincent, eventually found a home at the Mt. Bentick Estates in the early 1900s. Here, nestled amid lush agricultural country, abundant in pure mountain water, generations of blendmasters have carefully reproduced these distinctive rums: forged by time in oaken barrels and sought after by true connoisseurs. Today St. Vincent Distillers Ltd. continues to produce gold standard spirits available islandwide.

Waterfalls Pristine New Finds
Avid hiker Paul Cyrus has long held the goal to hike every river in St. Vincent with the aim of documenting all the island’s waterfalls. How many rivers and waterfalls does St. Vincent have? Too many to count. For instance, the Colonarie River, which has one of St. Vincent's 3 hydroelectric plants, South Rivers Power Station, has over 50 waterfalls on numerous tributaries, some with their own name.
Since 2020, Paul has dramatically increased the frequency of his expeditions. Along with hiking partners Ozari Williams and Rommel deFreitas, and several other like-minded enthusiasts, they have made some thrilling finds. Hiking the entire length and breadth of St. Vincent, some of their extraordinary discoveries happened relatively quickly, while others were located after gruelling treks of up to 11 hours. They stopped counting at 150 new waterfalls, never recorded in history.
The amazing thing is that up to 3 or 4 years ago, people thought that St. Vincent only had 3 waterfalls of note, Dark River, Trinity Falls and Baleine. Baleine was considered tall at 100 ft. and the aquamarine swimming pool there deemed unique. Now Paul and his friends have found over 100 waterfalls taller than Baleine, up to 700 ft. in fact, many with swimming pools of all shapes and sizes. Of course, all waterfalls come with an element of danger, but the wonderful thing about doing this type of exploring in the Southern Caribbean is that these exquisite mineral rich waters are warm enough to enjoy swimming and relaxing in.
By Sally Miller
These Vincy explorers have been experiencing eco adventure at its purist. What Paul says makes it particularly special is, being unknown, these waterfalls are all pristine. A budding landscape gardener himself, he says that if you took a team of the best landscape gardeners in the world, they could not replicate the splendour and exquisite balance and layering of mother nature’s gardens around these waterfalls.
Paul's mission is not yet complete – he says he’s about 80% along and counting. The good news to visitors and residents of St. Vincent is that this intrepid explorer is now starting to offer a full variety of hikes. He will tailor your tour to suit fitness levels and what you would like to see, including the La Soufrière Volcano. Below is his contact information along with a couple of other outfits who offer hiking tours in SVG. Happy hiking!

Beaches & Anchorages
St. Vincent’s beaches are all public. In the south, Indian Bay, Villa, Young Island and Blue Lagoon beaches have soft, golden sand and border many of the island’s hotels and restaurants making it convenient for ordering food and drinks. The best snorkeling and safest swimming is along the west coast. The dramatic Windward coast beaches have black sand as a result of volcanic lava flows and the sea is often quite rough with dangerous undercurrents.
Family Friendly Villa Beach and Indian Bay
These two white sand beaches, divided by a small hilly projection, are easily accessible. Both offer good snorkeling and provide lovely views of Young Island with a string of places offering great dining and entertainment.
Blue Lagoon
Surrounded by palm trees, with a lovely beach. Excellent for swimming and it’s a very pleasant anchorage. This is now a port of entry with Customs and Immigration on site at the the Blue Lagoon Marina, a full service marina offering 20 slips and 4 alongside berths with water and 110/220 electricity with 50 Hz.
Snorkeler’s Paradise Wallilabou
A picturesque bay and a good diving spot with reliable line handlers available to help secure yachts. Customs and Immigration can be cleared here between 4pm and 6pm (up to 7pm during the busier winter season).
Chateaubelair
With its 40-foot deep reef and array of brightly coloured fish, is a snorkeler’s dream. While usually a good anchorage, especially on the eastern half of the bay, the northerly swells in the winter months can cause difficulties.
Customs and Immigration clearance is also available in Chateaubelair.
Petit and Grand Byahaut
Two small bays where diving and snorkeling are superb. At Dinosaur Head (face of Byahaut point) you will find a 120-foot wall covered in sponges, seafans and coral.
Troumakar Bay
This small well-protected bay, with room for only a handful of yachts, has some mooring posts on the beach. There is good snorkeling along the shore.
Buccament Bay
A well-protected, very calm bay with an excellent anchorage shelf in the eastern corner close to the beach. There is exceptionally good snorkeling here. Sandals
Beaches Resort is currently being built here.

Perfect for Picnics
On the Windward side of the island there are a number of beautiful black sand beaches with facilities. Because of strong undercurrents, most Windward beaches are not recommended for swimming.
Brighton Salt Pond
A fascinating mangrove swamp which attracts many visitors. It is a very popular recreational and entertainment spot. The gazebos are great for birthdays and other functions.
Owia Salt Pond
On the northeastern coast, close to the Carib village of Owia. The 2-hour drive runs along the scenic coastline. This unusual gift of nature consists of a huge sea bathing pool enclosed by lava peaks and ridges. The pounding waves crash into this barrier and
then gently cascade into the pool. Surrounded by mountains and the thunderous surf, the area is an ideal spot for picnics, swimming and snorkeling. Facilities include gazebos, bar, shower and washrooms, children’s play area, craft centre and fire pits. There is a small entrance fee. A 5-minute walk behind the old arrowroot factory in Owia are 4 waterfalls which are the beginning of a 1/4 mile of solid volcanic rock formation, through which the river cascades into many waterfalls.
Young Island Cut
The anchorage here, lying in clear water, is a favourite with yachtspeople. Anchor with care, as the current sweeps both ways and the centre of the cut is 65 feet deep. Moorings are available, but stay clear of the sea bed close to Young Island itself.
The restaurant at Young Island Resort is a wonderful choice for breakfast, lunch or dinner in a relaxed beachfront setting, in the open-air, under thatched roof huts. Everyone raves about their freshly baked breads in six delicious flavours!
West Coast Gems - above and below the surface
The west coast of St. Vincent offers some of the best coastal scenery in the region and spectacular diving opportunities, with the impressive landscape underwater. The dive shops here offer some dramatic wall dives, full of black coral and azure sponges steeply shelving away to volcanic sand. Divers often find themselves surrounded by schools of creole wrasse, blue tangs or dozens of other curious species.

of the Grenadines Birds
Published
by co-authors
Juliana
Coffey and Alison
Birds of the Transboundary Grenadines is an innovative avian field guide covering the Grenadine archipelago between St. Vincent & the Grenadines and Grenada. This is the first guide of its kind to specifically focus on these transboundary islands, which are geologically, ecologically, historically and culturally more similar to one another than to their respective mainland islands.
Ollivierre,
Coffey and Ollivierre spent seven years researching and writing the book, which contains 140+ pages of high-quality photographs of the birds and natural areas of the Grenadines. By using detailed profiles, the guide provides valuable information about the identification, diet, habitat, local knowledge, and sightings of 117 species of birds. Further context is added in the form of 14 detailed maps which highlight conservation areas and local toponyms on more than 50 islands and cays. And to inject an extra degree of interest, there is a whole chapter dedicated to previously undocumented local ecological knowledge, folklore, and prehistoric-tomodern-day human values of birds.
From the time the authors first discussed the merits of a more regionally specific field guide for the Grenadines back in 2011, their goals increased significantly from merely producing a simple publication for interested locals and visitors, to developing a valuable resource for local bird monitors to learn about the various species and carry out more meaningful surveys. As a bonus, this important educational tool has also gone on to promote sustainable tourism initiatives and enhance the overall conservation and management of Grenadine resources.
Thanks to the fact that the authors’ research went beyond conventional bird profiles, by conducting extensive interviews to document the unwritten, local ecological knowledge and folklore embedded in Grenadines’ culture, this book has the capacity to preserve that priceless knowledge for future generations.
One interesting aspect revealed by these interviews is a rich cultural association with birds throughout the archipelago. Such as the unique local bird names, traditional superstitions, and the representation of birds in art; as well as detailed information on how fisherfolk and sailors often rely on birds to find fish, understand weather patterns

and navigate. By compiling this information on the importance of birds in the archipelago, the authors have successfully linked science-based, modernday, local ecological knowledge with a similar historical significance of birds revealed by the archaeology of Amerindian culture and economy. Perhaps most importantly of all, this field guide also provides a level of information that is critical for the conservation of the birdlife of the Grenadines in the future.
Books can be purchased online at bit.ly/Grens-Bird-Guide or in person at The Hub Collective on Bequia, Mustique Island Company Office and The Cotton House on Mustique, Bougainvilla Hotel on Union Island, or Lumbadive Dive Shop on Carriacou. Please also consider donating to help the authors fulfil their goal of getting copies of the books into the hands of local schools and relevant community organisations.

Shopping in Kingstown
The new covered market in Kingstown is a good place to start, and Saturday mornings are busiest. Brimming with life and authenticity, the market doesn’t merely provide you with fresh produce, but with a real Vincy experience – every purchase is a transaction with a person, and each person has a comment or story to share, if you have the time. And if you’re not sure how to prepare and cook something like breadfruit, just ask! Chances are you’ll get several recipes from the vendors.
The adjacent Cruise Ship Complex has docking facilities for yachts as well as large passenger ships. Here you will also find a number of shops carrying a range of local art and craft.
The regular ferryboats that link St. Vincent to the Grenadine islands provide a key supply chain that allows stores in St. Vincent to offer a convenient inter-island delivery service of a wide range of fresh product, groceries and luxury items, including wines and spirits. Shopping here definitely needs more planning but it can be fun. It’s a great chance to live like a local!
Shoppers can conveniently place their order via telephone or email and pay by credit card. Once the goods have been packed into boxes, the order will be put onto the next ferry and the client notified of its expected arrival, ready for collection.
While hours of business vary from store to store, they generally open from 8am until noon, 1pm until 4pm on weekdays and half day on Saturdays. Banks normally open Monday to Thursday from 8am to 2pm and on Fridays 8am to 5pm.
The Joshua Centre
What was once St. Vincent’s airport in Arnos Vale, has been transformed into the island’s first major shopping centre. Browse through the well thought out shops and services including hardware, pharmacy, bank, phone supplies, boutique clothing, cosmetics, locally-made beachwear, local art and souvenirs, leather goods, household effects and more. Refuel at the food court for convenient dining or indulge at the fine dining restaurant. The Joshua Centre is ideally located 10 minutes from Kingstown and 15 minutes from the new Argyle International Airport. Cocoa Kalinago
From Bean to BarArtisanal Vincentian Chocolate
Cocoa Kalinago is a new range of chocolate that recently went into production in St. Vincent. It all started in 2011 when Andrew and Delphine Hadley were appointed by an international company to re-establish the cocoa industry in St. Vincent and the Grenadines. Andrew has 30 years experience in agriculture and is a well-respected farmer. Now they have launched their own Cocoa Kalinago Chocolate. They grow a small amount of their own cocoa
on their Union Estate, but most of the beans are bought from farmers at a fair price. The chocolate is fully traceable back to the farms. Andrew and Delphine believe in sustainability and fair trade and are very proud of their good working relationship with Vincy farmers. They have a tight control on quality as they select, ferment and sun dry all the cocoa. The fermenting is particularly important to the end product. Their chocolates are fully artisanal. Andrew and Delphine, along with their hard-working team, are making high quality, small batches of chocolate. Just what the doctor ordered!

Discover Bequia
The view of Admiralty Bay from Ma Peggy

Out and About
The Windward Side
This side of the island is the most fertile, and it was here in the 18th and 19th centuries that several of Bequia’s nine sugar plantations were situated.
Located at ‘The Mill’ is the home of Grenadine Wild Sea Salt. They host tours, talks, tastings and private events around all things culinary and creative. They have restored the ancient ruins of The Old Sugar Mill which dates back to the late 17th century, set in a tranquil, park-like setting with their 140 patented solar evaporation stills. As part of Spring Plantation – where sugar, indigo, arrowroot, cassava and copra were once produced – it is most likely the oldest structure on the island. Open: 7 days a week 10am-5pm.
WhatsApp: (212) 741-8318
Firefly Estate at Spring offers cross country golf and estate tours in a remarkably beautiful setting. Located beyond
Spring and Industry, at Park Beach, ‘Brother’ King nurtures endangered Hawksbill turtles of all sizes.
Port Elizabeth
This town is nestled along the waterfront of Admiralty Bay and rises into the surrounding hills. A number of brightly coloured shops, houses, restaurants, small hotels and guest-houses complete the picturesque scene. While wandering around the harbour, look out for the ‘House of Parliament’ – the local name given to the shaded waterfront area under the almond trees, where the island’s talented artists and craftspeople display their wares and taxis assemble to collect and deposit passengers.
Belmont Walkway
A delightful continuous coastal path that meanders along the south shore of Admiralty Bay, with a number of inviting little bars and restaurants all along the way. Continuing on from the walkway is the Princess Margaret
Coastal Trail leading to Princess Margaret beach. The latter part of this coastal trail was damaged during high seas in 2018 but the beach is still accessible using the old path that hugs the cliff. At the end of Princess Margaret beach there is another trail over the hill to Lower Bay just beyond.
Paget Farm
As you make your way west along the winding southside road you’ll eventually come to the colourful fishing community of Paget Farm, where there are beautiful views across the sea to the uninhabited islands of Petit Nevis, site of the old whaling station, and Isle a Quatre. The James F. Mitchell Airport which was opened in 1992 is also nearby.
Friendship Bay
On the south coast is Friendship Bay and St. Hilaire Point, where many a Bequia boat has taken shape along the shores. Indeed the famous Friendship Rose that offers old time schooner tours to the Tobago Cays was built here.

The Bequia Heritage Museum
In St. Hillary, Friendship this museum was officially opened on December 15th 2020 and represents the fulfilment of nearly thirty years of planning, fundraising and aspiration by the Trustees of the Bequia Heritage Foundation, spearheaded by the late Pat Mitchell.
The spacious, airy boat museum explores Bequia’s famed maritime history, including boat and shipbuilding and whaling. It also includes a traditional Amerindian dug-out canoe and other relics of a bygone era, there to represent the indigenous people who lived in the region going back thousands of years.
Next door, the newly completed air-conditioned Annexe, with its fine display of Amerindian pottery and artefacts, almost all found on Bequia, together with a selection of items dating from the European period of Bequia’s settlement, including
a collection of bottles retrieved from Admiralty Bay, expands on and completes the unique arc of Bequia’s 1,700 year history.
Fascinating in-depth PowerPoint presentations in the Annexe Gallery augment the display in both buildings, with detailed background history, maps, charts, commentary and documentation and early photographs.
Reproductions of rare antique Bequia maps, postcards and books are also available to purchase.
On display outside the Annexe is the whale boat ‘Rescue’, de-commissioned by its owner Orson Ollivierre when he decided to lay down his harpoon and turn instead to whale watching.
The dedicated and knowledgeable museum representatives are on hand to welcome you and show you around. More in depth, personalised tours with one of their Trustees are also available by prior arrangement.
Allow plenty of time to take in all of the exhibits and the detailed information available, and to enjoy the beautiful and tranquil location.

Admiralty Bay
One of the best harbours in the Caribbean because of its deep protected ‘U’ shape, calm, clear waters and ample depth, allowing large boats to come close to shore for maintenance. When anchoring stay clear of the ferry route to the main jetty.
Princess Margaret Beach
A popular anchorage and a glorious stretch of beach with a convenient dinghy dock if you are arriving by water taxi. Generally calm with perfect swimming conditions – yachts are required to anchor at least 200 yards off shore for the safety of swimmers. Jack’s Beach Bar is a favourite hangout and the perfect spot for lunch – linger on to catch the sunset with a few of their cocktail concoctions!
Lower Bay
A long stretch of powdery white sand with crystal clear water, excellent for swimming, snorkeling and sunbathing with beach chairs available for rent. A stretch of on-shore reef provides an area of shallow pools along the shoreline making it especially suitable for children. Keegan’s Beachside Bar & Restaurant is situated in the middle of the bay and is a good choice for food and drinks. Further along the beach and tucked away in Lower Bay village, you’ll find Dawn’s Café serving tasty local dishes.
Beaches & Anchorages
Friendship Bay
On the south side, Friendship Bay is a sheltered, crescent shaped bay with lots of shade. It’s a good alternative anchorage for yachts and offers great snorkeling, scuba diving and windsurfing conditions. The stylish Bequia Beach Hotel is located here – enquire about their day passes, starting at US$75, and take advantage of the hotel’s first class facilities.
Hope Bay - A Hidden Gem
If you can find it, Hope Bay on the east coast is good for beachcombing and a great spot for picnics with a group of friends. Pounded by the Atlantic surf, it’s also good for body surfing but only if you’re a strong swimmer. Beware of strong undercurrents and be sure to stay within your depth.
Spring Bay & Industry
On the eastern side of the island this stretch of often deserted coastline is shaded by wooded hills and countless coconut palms – good conditions for kitesurfing and windsurfing and perfect for picnics! Crescent Beach on Industry Bay is the best for swimming and snorkeling on this side of the island.

Mustique
Iconic Island Life
There is nowhere quite like Mustique, from the tranquil, unspoilt natural environment to the social life and annual events. You are equally likely to find yourself totally alone strolling along Macaroni Beach, as you are bumping into an old friend at the infamous Basil’s Bar on a late Sunday afternoon, while enjoying sunset sessions with your family and friends.
Mustique is an island to explore at your own speed. A gentle morning swim in the turquoise Vincentian waters of Gelliceaux Bay, lunch at the Beach Café and a trip to the spa in the afternoon. Enjoy an early scuba dive exploring the amazing reefs which are being successfully regenerated thanks to the island’s coral restoration project or a snorkel with the Green sea turtles in Britannia Bay. In the afternoon hike down the Atlantic coastline to experience the wilder side of the island. Explore on horseback with a trek up into the hills before taking the horses for a swim in the sea. Hone your tennis
skills at the much-loved Mustique Tennis Club, or just find a quiet spot and enjoy the view.
Guests can stay at The Cotton House, more of an island beach club with beautiful suites than boutique hotel, or if arriving by boat, you can drop anchor in Britannia Bay and enjoy the shops in Britannia Bay, the fish market, Stanley’s fruit and vegetable stall and, of course, no trip to Mustique would be complete without a night out at Basil’s Bar. Many visitors fall so deeply for this iconic island life that they fall under its spell, only to return every year.

Elegant Escapes
Known as the “Island of Turtles”, Canouan is five square miles of lush, tropical rolling hills, exceptional white-sand beaches and home to the Caribbean’s largest coral barrier reef. For an island so small, Canouan boasts a surprising number of luxury amenities including the impressive Sandy Lane Yacht Club and Marina, the luxurious Mandarin Oriental, Canouan Estate Resort and Villas and the latest addition, SOHO House.
Getting there is no problem, with two private jets offering a shared jet service from the international airports in St. Vincent and Barbados, and Canouan’s runway that can accommodate private jets up to the size of a Boeing 737.
The Sandy Lane Yacht Club is the most sophisticated and best equipped full-service marina in the Grenadines. Both Tradewinds Yacht Charters and Erika’s Yacht Services are now located there. They also offer stylish accommodation and several high quality dining options. There is a Diamonds International tax free jewellery store and Faye Gastronomie is the new high end supermarket.
Both Mandarin Oriental and Canouan Estate Resort and Villas offer a minimum spend day-pass for non-guests. Canouan Estate Resort and Villas is a 5-star Luxury Resort that showcases a unique collection of standalone villas and larger residences, along with one and two-bedroom suites. Their spa doesn’t disappoint, with charming hillside treatment palapas and meticulously trained therapists. An Authentic Grenadine Experience
The British Crown bought Union Island from the last private owner in 1910 and set up a Land Settlement Scheme to sell 2 and 4-acre lots to the residents at peppercorn prices. Today, a small community comprises some 3,000 Union Islanders. The good news for all visitors to the Southern Grenadines, sailors and landbased tourists alike, is that Union
Island is buzzing again. This interesting place has long been an important link in the island chain, but today, thanks to a revitalised spirit of enterprise, Union has a lot more to offer the modern traveller. From world-class kitesurfing, to superb sailing and diving, improved accommodation, wellstocked supply stores and a new wave of attractive restaurants and bars, Union now has it all.

Sparrow’s Aquaponic Farm
Renowned in the Southern Grenadines as a top fisherman, Bertrand Sailly catches most of the fish served each day at his Sparrows Beach Club and Restaurant. So, when the pandemic struck, he came up with a plan to make his restaurant self-sufficient in other produce he needs in large quantities – fresh herbs and salads.
Modelled on the self-sustainable system of aquaponics, Bertrand’s farm has a pond where tilapia fish are fed with the peelings and scraps from the restaurant. The water from the pond is then fed through the roots of the plants he grows, which act as a filter and send clean water back into the fish-pond. Since the plants thrive on the nutrient rich water from the fish, there is no need for any chemical fertilisers or pesticides, thereby providing
100% organic, perfectly healthy food for his guests and his family - including various kinds of lettuce, several varieties of basil, plus other herbs like dill and mint.
This project has been an absolute joy and labour of love for Bertrand. First and foremost, it is a family affair, with his son Sabastian working alongside him. Secondly, the farm is idyllically located high up in the hills of Union Island, with an amazing view of the entire Grenadines. It is a very quiet and peaceful place, disturbed only by the buzzing of the wild bees happily pollinating his tomatoes, cucumbers, beans, aubergines, sweet peppers and even strawberries. Not only has Bertrand found a reliable source of organic produce, he has also discovered a new hobby that he loves.

Sparrow’s Beach Club & Restaurant The Best Beach in Union Island
Sparrow’s Beach Club has made several improvements with the addition of awnings to give plenty of shady seating on the beach. The owner, Bertrand Sailly, well known Union Island businessman and fisherman of lore, catches excellent local fish and prepares it beautifully. His smoked marlin is absolutely delicious and he presents a daily fresh catch - live lobster from the pond, or one of the chef’s specialties like tuna sashimi, carpaccio and tartare. Other tasty dishes on the menu are: conch sauté flambéd with Pernod Ricard; fish fillet in sea urchin sauce and conch pasta. For dessert, you can indulge in Sparrow’s famous fried ice cream, crème brulée, lemon pie, banana flambée and chocolate mousse.
The beautiful white sand beach has a gently sloping access to the always calm, turquoise sea. The Beach Club is perfectly equipped with beach beds, shower on the beach, spa, massage, reflexology and watersports.
Your favourite Caribbean cocktailsmojito, Sparrow’s Rum Punch and piña colada will be served under the shade
of a coconut tree or in an intimate and private gazebo. Everything is organised for the comfort and tranquility of guests, who are always welcomed by pleasant and smiling staff. A free shuttle for Sparrow’s Restaurant guests will take you from Clifton Harbour and bring you back at your convenience.
Bertrand also offers real estate services through his company, Grenadines Island Development. Sparrow’s Beach Club has become “the place to be”. Day moorings
are available; charter boats can spend the day there and then sail over to Chatham Bay or Clifton Harbour to spend the night. A wonderful, social place for the sailors, the locals and for all visitors in love with the Grenadines…

Discover
Petit St. Vincent Resort
A member of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World and National Geographic Unique Lodges of the World, PSV is the epitome of a ‘secluded and unplugged’ private island paradise. Tucked away in a tranquil corner of the southern Grenadines, and winners this year of Andrew Harper’s Readers’ Choice Award, Petit St. Vincent ranked #1 for the best place to unplug from the wired world. The hallmark of PSV is barefoot elegance accompanied by unobtrusive attentive service.
With just 22 spacious 1-bedroom cottages and 2-bedroom beach villas, discretely nestled amongst 115-acres of tropical beauty, PSV caters predominantly to discerning guests in search of an exclusive vacation experience that combines both luxury and escape. All of the accommodations benefit from absolute privacy and offer the ultimate in serene seclusion. There are no tvs, telephones or wifi in the rooms and there is no need to hang up the Do Not Disturb sign: a red flag flying outside guarantees guests are not interrupted, while hoisting a yellow flag summons room service and the prompt arrival of a waiter in a mini-moke.
Residents can dine in private or at either of two restaurants, one hillside and one beachside, where accomplished chefs offer a variety of creative modern international cuisine, influenced by locally-caught seafood and PSV’s organic island-grown herbs, fruit and vegetables. There are weekly beach barbecues with great local music,
and occasional special culinary events hosted by visiting chefs and vintners who give wine and rum tastings as well as cooking lessons. And to create an extra special vacation memory, PSV guests can enjoy a private picnic lunch or candlelight dinner anywhere on the island.
Blessed with over a mile of delightful white sand beaches and surrounded by the clearest, bluest, most crystalline seawater imaginable, PSV is a haven for outdoor relaxation or leisurely activities such as non-motorised water sports or day trips to surrounding islands. For the more adventurous, the resort is particularly proud of its excellent, state-of-the art Dive Centre, operated by Jean-Michel Cousteau, son of the legendary Jacques-Yves Cousteau, which caters to both divers and snorkelers and offers underwater safaris with on staff marine biologists and naturalists.
Of course PSV is all about savouring life, so guests can unwind in two yoga pavilions or enjoy unadulterated pampering at the Balinese-run luxury spa and wellness centre. Getting to Petit St. Vincent has never been easier as the resort now utilises a private aircraft charter with Mustique Airways (the longest operating airline in the Grenadines), which provides a round trip Barbados-Union Island route exclusively for PSV guests. Those guests who prefer to fly in their own private jet can be accommodated at the nearby Canouan Island airport, from where they will transfer to PSV by private boat.
