We have exciting news; for the first time, we have a menswear shoot featuring the talented and rising boxing star Oli Cassidy photographed by Olivia Owen on one of our covers

We feature the best of the best in "My Personal luxury" and on our jewellery pages, a plethora of statement necklaces from brands such as Chopard, Van Cleef & Arpels, amongst others and a selection of unique and unisex luxury watches

We leave the rest for you to discover and wish you a wonderful Christmas and a very Happy New Year

Sending LOVE to you all

CLARIDGE’S CHRISTMAS TREE BY SANDRA CHOI FOR JIMMY CHOO UNVEILED

Claridge’s, London’s legendary Mayfair hotel, has this morning unveiled the Claridge’s Christmas Tree 2022, this year created by Sandra Choi for Jimmy Choo. This remarkable project, with one of Sandra’s favourite hotels, has allowed her to expand on her fascination with the concept of the jewel by exploring her dream of stepping inside one.

Named ‘The Diamond’, the tree is a magnificent sculptural creation standing over 5 metres tall, which has taken over 350 hours to construct. This extraordinary Christmas tree is crafted from 69 shining, reflective mirrors, accented with 60 meters of sparkling lights which pulse, undulate, and reflect off the multifaceted surface, and 250 individual aluminium panels. It is finished with a giant, glittering bow topper - a nod to one of the key design themes of Jimmy Choo’s winter collection. The tree, designed in partnership with set designer Simon Costin, has been created to allow guests to stand inside to take in the magical and shining, diamond-refracted space. This experiential element means Claridge’s Christmas Tree, with its mesmerising lights and enchanting reflections, will turn the hotel lobby into a fully immersive space whilst also ensuring a unique and personal festive moment for every guest who steps inside.

“I have always said I would love to know what it is like to step inside a diamond, and now I can! To be able to collaborate with Simon Costin on this incredible project has been an honour. The jewel has been a repeated metaphor I have used to describe Jimmy Choo, not just because they are used in our designs, but for the multifaceted nature of the collections, we create as well as the reflection and light we want to bring. The power to transform and shine bright.” said Sandra Choi, Creative Director. “Claridge’s is a London icon. The perfect blend of glamour and decadence - great things happen at Claridge’s. There’s a magical energy as you enter the doors that’s contagious, from the warmth of the staff to the discrete buzz of guests in the lobby. And at night the hotel invites you to party. Claridge’s is a London jewel; it’s multifaceted, like the diamond that inspired our tree, like Jimmy Choo.”

Claridge’s General Manager Paul Jackson said “I am delighted to welcome Sandra Choi to bring Jimmy Choo’s distinct glamour to the hotel. Christmas is always a truly magical time of year for us here at Claridge’s and this year, we look forward to seeing guests and visitors step inside Jimmy Choo’s sparkling world.”

The Claridge’s Christmas Tree has long symbolised the start of the festive season in the capital, drawing visitors and Londoners alike to admire its magnificent design. This is the 13th year that Claridge’s has invited a distinguished guest to reinterpret the tree in their own distinctive style.

Fantasy Hotel in the Sky APUJAN

APUJAN’s new show "Fantasy Hotel in the Sky" combines a fashion show with a drama, starring actors Wilson Hsu, Josie Lin, Rakuten Girls’ Chen, Yi-Jui and Golden Horse Award winner Mo Tzu-Yi. Special guests include blind pianist Huang Yu-Siang and DJ So Lonely, who are also invited to illustrate this brand-new theme.

APUJAN’s previous fashion shows have paid tribute to classic mystery and detective novels. This season, in addition to the detective theme, the influence of the oriental classic “Journey to the West” can also be seen in the characters and accessories.

The symbols of “Journey to the West” incorporated into the collection include Tiangong (Sky Palace) embroidery, accessories in the shape of gourds, masks, the phantom thief character who uses a monkey insignia, and the third eye on the police detective’s badge.

The show also features a stolen peach, which represents the fashion banquet hosted by the host of the Sky. The fairy maiden holding a fan, the models in the show, and the detective who had strayed into it, all provide an element of suspense and highlight the themes of East and West.

The scenes within the show combine classical fantasy with modern imagery such as postit notes and letters that symbolizes text messages, the close and zoom buttons on the computer windows, people walking to the front of window frame, chessboard-like corridors, and the oriental landscape of trees and rocks, which can be seen through an open door. APUJAN combines the elements of "Journey to the West" with modern pictures to reflect the classical fantasy story he created.

APUJAN has released five fashion show videos since the digitization of London Fashion Week. The creative director Apu Jan has also directed a series of co-branded image videos and released more synthetic visual designs after directing the Music Video earlier this year. The brand team plans to continue exploring and telling stories using more diverse media, apparels and accessories.

APUJAN continues to develop new fabrics and different types of knitting, jacquard and prints this season, and is expected to release more than 100 garments.

More than 30 sets of new clothing items are featured in this video, including a variety of knitted sweaters, suits, dresses, uniforms, printed shirts, gowns and other styles, with accessories such as printed backpacks, knitted bags in the shape of gourds an dinosaur tails, and 3D printed masks, knitted monkeys, face-masks and hats, which demonstrate the diversity of the brand. The ready-to-wear styles that are not featured in the film will be released simultaneously on the official website.

Prints and patterns on the jacquard display different aspects of the sky, with a bird's-eye view of clouds, streams, fields and mountains, interspersed with pterodactyls, planes, raindrops and stars.

A kaleidoscopic print representing the world reflected in a mirror, and a print with color blocks symbolizing various noises are also introduced this season. Colors representing spring and summer such as sky blue, emerald green, soft pink and earthy brown are also used in addition to the blacks and whites which have been the traditional hallmarks of the brand,

The cut and style of this season’s design matches the theme, with jackets designed to combine Eastern and Western collars; mixed with half-sided oriental placket and western suit lapels. The gowns and dresses continue to use traditional oriental clothing details such as cheongsam collars or unilateral slits.

Behind the Scenes: Production Team and Performance Team

As with the previous show, this year’s film is produced by Touch of Light Film Ltd., The artist director Otto Chen, who has just won the Best Art Award at the Taipei Film Festival for “Incantation”, was invited to produce the fantasy hotel in the imagined world.

The original theme music of the fashion show is produced by DJ QuestionMark (ChiShuan Ying), a music producer and director based in the UK. He uses highly repetitive minimalist elements as the main creative core, and uses limited sound to reflect the plot transitions, reflecting his creative philosophy that "Limitations inspire creativity".

DJ QuestionMark: "The fixed rhythm that runs through the entire film was designed to lead the audience into the plot, and also puts the focus back to the design of the clothes."

The highlight of the music is the oriental percussion sound, which echoes the subsidiary theme of this season - "Journey to the West".

JOURNAL REFLECT

CULTIVATE YOUR MIND

The app gives you daily exercises on how to receive abundance in life through manifesting love and improving your self-esteem. By helping you address limiting beliefs, the app is designed to improve your outcome of life by connecting you with your inner source. It also breaks down the mental roadblocks we create for ourselves while giving you viable solutions to help remove them and achieve your dreams.

The platform also seeks to incorporate holistic techniques such as mind exercises, daily acts of kindness, and inspirational quotes in order to help users manifest their desired life and easily allow them to stay consistent in their manifesting journey.

The app, which was created as a support platform for those looking to start their day more positively, also aims to inspire their users to live a life with intentionality, and to create their ideal world without fears or limits. It guides living intentionally and with possibility.

Dalila Salgueiro is a journalist, PR practitioner and Manifesting coach living in London for the past ten years. After going through a painful breakup and the loneliness experienced from being away from her family in Venezuela, she decided to start a journey to cultivate a holistic way for mental healing and positive living.

These circumstances led her to study Positive Coaching and Astrology for the past 3 years with Venezuela's renowned astrologer Mia Astral, as well as the principles of the Mayan Calendar in Mexico and its day-to-day application to help those who practice them find their purpose.

Theskyisnot eventhelimit

As Dalila says: “After this five year journey suffering from anxiety and all the pressures of living in a different country and adapting myself to the standards of what ‘success’ means in today's society, I decided to launch Manifesting to help others who might also be struggling with life’s pressures to manifest a more positive life, or at least help them to reset their negative thoughts through daily inspiring quotes, journaling and manifesting tasks.

After practicing Manifesting techniques myself, I discovered what my purpose in life was and started to perceive the magic of being alive. And it was there, in that moment, when the universe conspired to give me everything that I had wanted. I have learned to love, to trust myself, and to manifest the life I always thought was just a dream. Manifesting is about working hard every day to build your ideal reality, change your personal narrative, and remove your limiting beliefs, so that the people and opportunities you attract into your life are a reflection of your best self. It is raising your energy, filling your mind with positive thoughts, little by little, one day at a time, until you feel the flame inside you guiding you towards those opportunities that set your life on fire.”

WHAT IS MANIFESTING?

Manifesting is knowing what you want and bringing it to life through daily visualisation and affirmation techniques. These allow you to reprogram your brain so you start believing and creating your envisioned reality.

24 Carat Thoroughbreds

Winter Exhibition at the Osborne Studio Gallery

Plaster sculpture by Frippy Jameson, who lives and works in the Scottish Borders, has a rare determination to master the art of patination, acquiring skills at Edinburgh‘s leading foundry.

Dates: 29th November until 8th January 2023

Location: Osborne Studio Gallery 2 Motcomb St, Belgravia London SW1X 8JU

Entry: Free admission to the gallery

Frippy Jameson studied Fine Art Sculpture at Camberwell College of Art and Design, City & Guilds of London Art School and with The Portland Sculpture Trust. Frippy moved from London and latterly Edinburgh to live and work from her studio in the Scottish Borders.

''My work moves to define the compound narrative of fragility and strength, patience and endurance, that surrounds the thoroughbred.''

The Placement of the sculptures, slightly offset, some on heavy stone plinths, aims to highlight the subtlety of the horse. The sculpture groups are strung across long pieces of sandstone. With these compositions, Frippy encapsulates the space horses occupy in a paddock and reflects the intricacy of each of these relationships. The equine works she sculpts capture an element of private pause, those intimate moments of pre or post-work; Frippy studies the horse during breaks in racing, resting between seasons, or waiting in the yard after training. All the ‘in between’ parts of their existence hold her interest, the tranquil, still moments that make up the larger picture of a horse. Observing these beautiful animals when calm, seeing them beyond all the noise, is what Frippy captures in her extraordinary sculptures.

Frippy Jameson takes on commissions to sculpt life-size equestrian portraits, which include her patrons’ favourite hunters, cavalry horses, and racing champions. They stand calmly in their own sanctuary, in gardens, palaces and estates around the world.

Exhibition at the Osborne Studio Gallery from 29th November until January 8th 2023. It includes hunting scenes by lifelong foxhunting man, painter Daniel Crane. We concentrate on Frippy Jameson for this suggestion.

The Hux Hotel Unveil Their Newest Hedonistic Hideaway

As one of the more alluring locales that the city has to offer, The Hux Hotel is having the last word in extravagance with the launch of their brand-new suite, an epicurean haven sitting high over Kensington and adjacent to the palace gardens.

Named The Huxy One and featuring artwork and custom furnishings exclusively by multi-award-winning Icelandic artist, Kristjana S. Williams, the suite is an evocative ode to city decadence, where royal blue colourings and ornate furnishings set the scene.

The hotel says:

“We didn’t hold back with The Huxy One. The new suite is definitive of The Hux Hotel; an unforgettable experience rich with our distinguished and singular Huxy vibe.”

With their elegant rooms and live music that plays long into the night, the hotel is currently enjoying a sold-out season. Their notorious bar has also become the ideal spot to duck away from the mania of Christmas shopping, with an irresistible selection of bespoke cocktails perfect for those who want to take walk on the side…

Room rates for The Huxy One begin at £1050 per night.
