MATC, Cardinal Stritch collaborate on accelerated nursing program
Event Photo
Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC) and Cardinal Stritch University are pairing up on an enrollment agreement that allows nursing students to obtain a bachelor’s degree in only one semester after earning an MATC associate degree in nursing. The two schools announced their collaboration, which aims to address the statewide nurse shortage, on Monday, October 16, 2017. It allows MATC nursing students to concurrently enroll at Cardinal Stritch so they can receive their bachelor's degree from the Catholic university in a quicker and more cost-effective manner. Typically, it takes four years for an individual to earn a bachelor's degree in nursing. Under this new partnership, nursing students can earn their bachelor's in two-and-ahalf years.
