Youth Action Council and Alderwoman Coggs co-host special Mother's Day Luncheon

On Saturday, May 7, 2016 the Youth Action Council, WestCare, the city's Community Development Block Grant Administration and Alderwoman Milele A. Coggs co-sponserd a Mother's Day brunch at WestCare Wisconsin, 335 W. Wright Street. The event recognized special mothers across Milwaukee who go the extra mile each day for their children and families. The event was

Canaan M.B.C. hosts Midwest Regional Conference On Friday, May 6 and Saturday, May 7, 2016 Canaan Missionary Baptist Church, 2964 N. 11th Street hosted the Metropolitan Missionary Baptist District Association's Midwest Regional Conference. The theme for the two-day event was "Equipping Today's Church to Serve." The host pastor was Canaan's own Dr. Frederick Jones. Beckum-Stapleton Little League hosts Opening Day Parade Despite overcast skies, the Beckum-Stapleton Little League kicked off Opening Day with a grand parade on Saturday, May 7, 2016. The parade started at 5th and Chambers at 9:30 a.m. and ended at James Beckum Park, where the Opening Day ceremonies continued as well as the first game of the Little League season. The league has been a chartered member of Little League since 1966, and involved in the Little League Urban Initiative for four years. Approximately 350 children are participating in James Beckum Little League, which fields 25 teams. (See pg. 8 for more photos.) www.milwaukeetimesnews.com
